It's a fact: once you go to a multiple monitor setup, you'll never go back to using a single monitor ever again! But if you're adding a second monitor just to increase your display space, you're missing out on a whole world of additional functionality. Actual Multiple Monitors unlocks the true power of a multiple monitor setup!
With Actual Multiple Monitors, you can use multiple screens at their FULL POTENTIAL! What does this mean? It means that you can have standard Windows services, like the Start menu, enabled on your secondary display. It means access to window management features that will free you from unnecessary clicking and dragging. It means freedom and power.
Actual Multiple Monitors gives you the ability to run the Windows Taskbar on your secondary display, customized to display only those tasks running on your second monitor, or all tasks across both monitors. You can have a second copy of your Start menu button, so you never have to look back at your primary display to launch a new app. You can even use Actual Multiple Monitors to clone the Task Switcher box. In other words, everything that you can do on your first monitor, you'll be able to do on your second.
Ever feel like you're clicking and dragging across a football field when moving an app window from your primary to your secondary display? Actual Multiple Monitors eliminates this tedium! Just press a hotkey to move the window to the display of your choice! Plus, you can configure Actual Multiple Monitors to remember the screen configurations for your favorite applications! Multiple desktop profiles remember your window arrangement, icon layout, resolution, colors, wallpaper, and more!
The Window Snapping control center tool emulates the extremely handy Windows 7 Aero Snap mode. When enabled, it allows you to auto-maximize, auto-span, and vertically auto-maximize windows simply by dragging them to various edges of the desktop. The Window Thumbnails service allows non-Vista users to take advantage of convenient thumbnail representations of all open windows. Never get lost in a sea of windows again!
What else? How about the ability to maximize applications, background images, and screensavers to span across both screens? The Desktop Icons Manager lets you keep your desktop icon layout from being accidentally changed or corrupted because of display resolution changes.
Is there an upgrade path from Actual Multiple Monitors to Actual Window Manager?
Will this be compatible with Windows 7?
Mark, Yes, we can provide you the special price for Actual Window Manager. If you are still interested please send your request to support@actualtools.com to get more details on the upgrading.
Royce, Yes, all Actual Tools products are compatible with Windows 7.
Presently I have a 52 inch monitor feed by a Dell Media Center computer that streams internet music, and tunes/ records off the air TV. The MC is programmed to sleep when not recording TV or playing music. To operate the MC, I must turn on/ off the large monitor. I would like to run parallel w/ a smaller monitor to operate the MC and use the big monitor when I choose to watch TV. Will your product allow this?
Stu, I'm not sure that I understood your request properly. What do you mean saying "operate the Media Center"? If the Media Center application is a regular Windows program then - yes, you can manipulate it using the advanced features of AMM. By the way, you can simply download Actual Multiple Monitors and check on your own whether it has the desired functionality or not - it offers the 60-day evaluation period without any operational restrictions.
Having purchased Actual Multiple Monitors today I have already upgraded to Actual Window Manager as it adds some very useful utilities. For full details of additional functionality see http://www.actualtools.com/windowmanager/comparison/. The upgrade is specially discounted for Bits du Jour purchasers. After purchase of Actual Multiple Monitors just email support@actualtools.com for special upgrade link (price read more of upgrade $14.95). By the way it installed fine on Vista 64-bit Enterprise and it really gives you full control of a multi monitor enviroment for the first time regardless of the windows programs you are using.
I had emailed them earlier about the upgrade, but I hadn't purchased it yet. I now have purchased it, and emailed them again. Hopefully this will work out. Alan
Never did get the upgrade link. Hopefully they will honor the upgrade price once I do get the email. I will try contacting them again. Alan
They sent me the upgrade link this morning, so I'm good. Alan
Posting here will also email Actual Tools directly.
