Henrik Safegaard I normally have to clean and reinstall my windows twice a year.
Does the policy mean that i only can reinstall this software 1 times after the first installation on the same computer?
I would like to have a new HD drive set up soon, is this a part of the hardware footprint to so it would eat up a one time registration to?
Please specify what the hardware footprint actually include, dvd drive, ram, hd, etc.
It surely loke nice, but i wont by it if i only can use it for a year because i conflict with the policy. I hope i have get it wrong about the installation's limitations.
Best regards

AKVIS If you install the same operating system, there will be no problem. You will just need to re-install the AKVIS software and enter your serial number to register. You can even do this after a hard drive format.
If you have a problem with re-activating just contact our support team, and we'll help you to solve the problem. If you do this 1-2 times in a year, there is no problem.

Tazzie When is the next major version expected?
Apr 16 2011 at 8:02pm Copy Link
AKVIS Hi! The next major version will be available in summer. The upgrade will be free for the registered users.

Louis H Very nice to see an AKVIS plugin offered here on BDJ!

DrTeeth At even this discounted price, the policy makes this a non-starter.

Tazzie It is helpful that the coming upgrade will be free to registered users, but what about major upgrades after that? Will discounts be offered to registered users? While the discounts on BDJ are great, I do have to remind myself of what upgrade costs will be down the road. When no discounts are given for pricey software, that would make it harder for me to upgrade in the future.

This looks like great software. I haven't downloaded and tried it, cos I don't want to be disappointed at not buying it. Please reconsider the terms of your policy for the future. I just had to make my own spreadsheet with all the various policy terms of the different software I have. It is getting frustrating trying to keep track of what software I've activated on which computer, etc. This type of thing is what helps drives consumers to open source software or other alternatives.

We usually offer the registered users to upgrade AKVIS software for free.

After a new version is released, you can download it and
install. Your license will be valid for the new version.

Very rarely we ask an additional payment for an upgrade. We sell 16 software and asked to pay for upgrades only for 4 of them for the full our history.

Louis H The only reason I am not buying today is that I am still saving up towards the full suite of AKVIS programs. I have friends who have been using these programs for quite some time and they are very pleased with the upgrade policy.

Henry T Is this plugin compatible with Gimp?

AKVIS Henry,
Yes, the people use our plug-ins with Gimp. You can see the instruction how to add the plug-in to this image editor:

Tazzie @ AKVIS, thanks for the clarification on the policy .... the upgrade policy is generous enough to send me back to the website! I am leaning towards what Louis is planning ... it seems a shame to have only part of a great set, so I may end up planning to get the whole suite. I am pleased that the programs can function as plug-ins to Gimp ... the flexibility of AKVIS programs in functioning as stand alones or as plug-ins for a good variety of programs increases their value for money, IMHO.

AKVIS You're welcome! ;) The AKVIS Alchemy all-in-one bundle is the best choice. All 16 products! It's offered at the discounted price, so we do not give an additional discount for it, but it already includes the discount of 60%, not bad!

Louis H Not bad at all! And I agree with Tazzie that the flexibility of these programs is a major plus. Some things are worth the wait. Saving up for the Alchemy bundle is one of those things!

Glen Hilton Good software though some apps are quite pricey compared with alternatives when bought individually. Have purchased one AKVIS plugin though like others will probably buy the AKVIS Alchemy bundle later on. For those of us that only use them only occasionally the initial price becomes an important factor. Thanks AKVIS for your prompt input, its nice to see one of your apps offered on BDJ.

Henrik Safegaard I will wait to, for the bundle, but for hobby use it take a long time to save up that kind of money. I hope i get to that point, it sure look great.

Nick Katz This does look really nice and I like these kinds of programs. Since i only need it for recreational use, I can't bring myself to spend that much, though I'm sure it's worth it.Good software isn't cheap. If the plug-in alone shoes up some time I probably will go for that.
