Keeping a journal can be fun, therapeutic, and informative, but if you've been trying to maintain multiple journals using a word processor, you know that organizing them can be a pain. But today's discount software promotion brings the fun back to keeping a journal, with an easy-to-use interface that makes keeping multiple journals a breeze! It's All My Journals!

All My Journals lets you record your thoughts and impressions using a very simple and accessible interface. A Journal Manager makes it easy to keep track of multiple journals, which encourages you to keep separate sets for different parts of your life -- work, home, exercise, diet, you name it. Best of all, All My Journals gives you the ability to search through all of your journals, so you never have to find yourself wracking your brain trying to remember which journal holds that critical bit of info that you seek.

You also never have to worry about your privacy when you use All My Journals. Just set a password to safeguard your most private musings, and no one else will ever get a chance to see them! And if you ever want to publish some or all of your journals in another format, All My Journals makes it easy to export your content.

Michael R. I bought this one last time on BDJ and used it quite often and appreciate it, especially it's quick start. You just have to enter a password on a popup-window and can immediately start.

Somewhere you describe that you want to keep it quite simple. This is acceptable, but there are some things I really do miss:

1) I wanted to use it for calculation too, so I needed to write some numbers in a row. This is quite complicated and looks quite ugly with a non-static font: Because each letter has a different horizontal expansion you have to enter different number of spaces to let the characters be halfways in a row.

2) When switching journals, I would prefer the current date would not change.

3) Embeddiing of pictures would be nice. I say this, but I suppose this will not be implemented, because it would increase the journal.

Darren I'm glad you're finding All My Journals useful Michael. To address your points:

@2 - Switching Journals: this is something that could be added as an option quite easily, without impacting on the existing design. I'll put it down for the next minor release (hopefully mid February).

@3 - Embedded images - not at this time, I'm afraid. Not saying never - it was a hard decision to leave images out from the first version. The extra features needed to handle images properly would impact negatively on the minimalist design of the product.

@1 - The font. Difficult to achieve without allowing fuller word processing options on each page, something we've deliberately avoided up to now. Not promising anything, but improved word processing options is something other users have asked for, so it may appear in a few months time.

Michael R. Thanks Darren, for your answers...

@1 About the fonts... Perhaps it would be possible to define two fonts and similar to an attribute like bold, italic, ... the user could switch between these twp fonts?
Or as a first step, let the user define a font for each journal. My calculations occur mainly in one journal, so I could use a static font for this journal and a dynmaic font for the other. Additionally a separate font for each journal would reflect the nature of the separate journals a little better.
Or even better - I barely dare to ask ;-) - both features combined.

@3 I can understand this. Pictures would blow up the database. But perhaps it would be possible to handle external files (like c:\myfiles\xyz.txt or c:\myfiles\xyz.jpg) and call the extention-dependent-standard-program for these extentions. As I saw this is already done for internet-addresses. So doing this for all files too, could make it possible to externally link a picture to an article without needing to leave the minimalistic design. (Ok, additonally having a popup-window showing the picture, when the mouse is over, would be nice).

Just some thoughts...

Grateful I'm trialing this today to investigate the need for multiple journals. In the past, I have kept everything in a single diary, so I'm not sure what to think about multiple ones. But I have to agree about the font situation. In real life, I never use a serif font; I think they're ugly and old-fashioned! It reminds me of my high school typing class (now that dates me...) Any standard sans serif font would do! Also, adding the ability to link would be great! I often have pictures or articles to accompany my entries.

Rick Truell Darren Devitt: I have to agree with Michael...the ability to choose what font to use is pretty critical when working with columns.

PS. Couldn't help but be amused about your company's name and location. How *is* "The Doctor" these days? :-)
