What are people saying about Auslogics BoostSpeed

Loyal User A number of things I do not like about this software. I hope the developer would fix them in future versions:

1- It starts installing without giving me a chance for any options (where to install, if I wanted shortcuts, etc.)
2- The program starts with the video (on first run), which is most annoying.
3- The program immediately launches the browser taking me to the home page with a pop-up to upgrade to the new version.
4- AND THE WORST ONE is that the program starts scanning automatically once it is launched instead of letting me decide if I want it to start scanning.
Some of these issues can be fixed in the settings, but they should not be the default values.

DrTeeth It is way too expensive for what it is and what it does.

BdJ should not be touching stuff like this, it will ruin their reputation. By 'selling' it and presenting the program with the manufacturer's claims unchanged, they are giving their backing to it.

I have not bought anything of BdJ for months, it has changed for the worse.

Seems reasonably clean....could be a false positive with one of them though.

Pi Stachio Auslogics Products and Support ARE PURE HYPE.

First,,,, Driver Updater reports drivers Out Of Date. The drivers that are reported Do Not Exist. Of course, when you want to update the fictitious drivers you are hijacked to a page to BUY DRIVER BOOSTER.

On Bits Du Jour I got a free subscription to Boost Speed which since the day I installed it reports to me that it is TIME TO RENEW - of course For A FEE.

More, an upgrade from 7.9 to vs 8 appears. When I update they ask for a Key. There is no way to retrieve the key I was given originally from anywhere in the program.

After finding the key in an old email from Bits Du Jour I enter it and the field reports it as UnRecognized.
I contacted Support about the Driver Booster Fictions and I have to repeatedly ask them for a reply. The reply I got was Pure Babble.... This was after I supplied them with screen shots / log files and alternative reports and more,,, Manually searching for drivers THAT DO NOT EXIST.

Suggestion: Advanced System Care.....a good and realistic program for computer maintenance. [ I am retaining screen shots of these entries so if taken down I will post again with additional notes.

After Numerous proofs sent to Auslogics here is the response:Auslogics program reported the same results and gave you all drivers with later dates and there is no proof that they are incorrect.
Feel free to write me back if I can further assist.

?? This is Support?? By the way,, I did get back to them twice and each time they Failed to Respond. Trust?,,,,, NonExistent.... Go Elsewhere.

I just used IoBit Powerful Uninstaller to uninstall the Auslogics programs and then used it to Remove any registry trace left behind.

Dennis User To Pi Stachio_______

iobit Advanced system care rather than BoostSpeed, IoBit Powerful Uninstaller to uninstall the Auslogics programs... Seems like you're either iobit fun or just paid for putting down their competiors and promote iobit.
So sad.
Jul 31 2015 at 2:22am Copy Link
Pi Stachio No Dennis.....

This is exactly and actually how it happened. I was given a runaround by Auslogics. The asked for log files and screenshots and I gathered whatever they asked for only to get a cut and paste reply.
Their Driver Booster reported 9 drivers out of date.
Two other Driver programs reported ALL up to date.
I identified the drivers and in System Devices went to sites to find the most up to date driver.
The Drivers Reported by Auslogics Driver Updater - did not exist.
That and all of the Protect Your System scare phrases and repeated and frequent prompts and pop ups to Purchase their programs became More Than Annoying.
I requested multiple times a response from their Support Crew and they have not answered.
I don't work for any one and not paid / that is kinda ridiculous to assert.....
I can say that the Iobit programs work excellently.
I use System Mechanic also and that has it advantages and drawbacks as well.
But the Auslogics nonsense was just too much to take.
On a personal note,,, your ' So Sad ' comment kind of makes it apparent that you vying for some kind of superiority condescension, which is really quite pathetic.
Jul 31 2015 at 3:33am Copy Link
Zach User It's working fine for me - not bugging me to install any drivers, maybe you caught a nasty virus/malware?
Jul 31 2015 at 5:03am Copy Link
Pi Stachio I have automatics in place for Virus, Malware and Spyware,,,, I also have apps that I use in addition to the ones I have in place to reinforce security. I can safely say that I have no virus.
Did you ever hear of a Virus that makes your computer report 'old drivers'
I took screenshots of my other programs that check drivers showing that all were up to date.... and sent them to Auslogics. Also searches done by System to look for drivers showed that the ones Reported by Auslogics to be out of date WERE UP TO DATE, and that current devices were Up To Date.

I had to Uninstall the Auslogics programs because they were relentlessly haunting my screen saying I was in danger and At Risk because of out of date drivers and wanting me to click sending me Immediately to a Purchase Page...!

Randy User version 8 works fine with Windows 10. I would advise caution with Registry Cleaner in either version 8 or 9, though.

Randy User Tony, you can do an internet search on the Topic of Registry Cleaners: they can do more harm than good so I'd advise caution. That said, I do think Auslogics makes good products, including BoostSpeed, when used judiciously.

Dan User Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 saw something in the installation as a virus. A file called 'is.UT3KO.Ink' is seen as a "HEUR:Trojan.WinINK.StartPage.gena".

Can anyone confirm if this is a false alarm or an actual trojan?

Aug 2 2016 at 1:13pm Copy Link
BeehindBlueyes * BitsDuJour Admin: I downloaded it from the link that this page led me to. I rarely have any problems with installing this way.

I am having a big problems with this program. I was finally able to register it but now I keep getting a pop up window every half hour, maybe an hour saying something about a free license for BoostSpeed 9 but when you get there it is asking for money or I can click on the register button but Norton stops BoostSpeed 9 from downloading. And that pop up window interrupts anything that I am doing and opens the Auslogics main window for scans.
There seems to be no way to stop it.
Also, I keep getting this little tab thing at the top of my screen that I can't get rid of. When I click on it you can go to settings and uncheck the box but as soon as I change tabs, it comes right back.
Lastly, this program does not show up in my Control Panel under Programs!
It does however show up under Programs if I go into my C drive.
Whats the deal with that?

I have to say that I have had Auslogics BoostSpeed many times in the past and never had these kinds of problems, or problems of any kind.

This program is making me very nervous.

I am going to uninstall this program until this gets cleared up.

Mark K Malwarebytes identifies a PUP (PUP.optional.yontoo) threat and quarantines the installation file. When I try to install the program from Auslogics website, I get a popup about a false positive for the PUP, and then gives me instructions to permanently disable Malwarebytes to check for PUP's. According to Google, Yontoo is Adware. Why would I want to permanently allow adware programs?

Zach User Ahhh, here I am back again - I can confirm the installer is for v8 and NOT v9 as advertised or promoted at least. Even says on the order invoice it is v8 and not v9.....

And yes, it looks like Malwarebytes has blocked and quarantined the file for PUP as one of the commenter has mentioned above.

Here's a recent virustotal scan:

BeehindBlueyes I am having the same problem with Malwarebytes but I have had this program before and I want it.
On the Malwarebytes screen go to settings and exclusions. Then check off program from website and browse for the program. It should be in your
programs x86 folder under Windows C.

Allan Fibecker Please don't install anything from Auslogics nowadays. It has been wll known for a while, that both their installer and uninstaller will be quarentine3d by MBAM Premium - and that's not "false positives". Auslogics had a giveaway recently - their defragger, and it was filthy as well, and a scan with MBAM gave 76 PUPs......very hard to get rid of. Try a run with ADW Cleaner the day after, MBAM removed everything. Geez 2 of them are reproducing, and this is a big time dealbreaker. Shame on Auslogics for this stunt!
May 18 2017 at 8:05am Copy Link
Daniel User No thanks. That's really no deal.
Dont blame MBAM - it is Auslogics bringing all the PUP scam. Shame.
And (sorry) shame to BDJ for advertizing V9 - and then V8 is delivered.
Even it's free, I will not use this "tool". Very bad indeed,
May 18 2017 at 10:17am Copy Link
Dennis Johnson Thanks to those who have posted that this promotion is for version 8, not version 9 as advertised. And a special thanks to those who went out of their way to provide information that is essential to anyone contemplating purchasing this. From what I've read (and researched myself) it's not worth the price they're offering it for here. I'll keep my slow computer safe, thank you.
May 18 2017 at 10:57am Copy Link
Adam Bridge Could we please have a comment from BDJ on here as to what the story is ? Seems many hours of negative feedback but nothing from the site owners ? I reckon there has been a stuff up and it was never intended to offer Version 9 as that is one of their current flagship products....
