We make no secret over here of our general dissatisfaction with the Windows Clipboard. After all, it's dumbed down the potential of the PC clipboard to the point that 99% of the people out there don't even consider the possibilities beyond Ctrl-C.
But all is not lost! ClipCache Pro takes the Windows clipboard and makes it relevant again. For starters, it used to be that you could only store one item on the Windows clipboard (Ok, 12 with the "new & improved" Windows clipboard). With ClipCache Pro there are no limits. That's right, you can cut, copy, and paste without fear of ever overwriting data already on your clipboard.
Once installed, ClipCache Pro runs silently (and efficiently) in the background. All clipboard activity is saved by ClipCache Pro and organized into folders. You can edit or merge text entries on the spot or perform advanced searches through the history archives. The folder implementation is flawless - you can preview clips, drag and drop clips between folders and applications, and even set limits on the number of items in each folder, so once that cap is reached, ClipCache Pro will delete the oldest clips to make room for more! Navigation is intuitive, allowing you to move forward and backward in folder browser history with ease.
How about this? ClipCache also features extensive text cleanup features. You know those infuriating emails filled up with ">>>>>" indentation markers? All you need to do is copy the offending message into ClipCache, and it'll remove all those arrows in a flash! But stripping email indents is only the beginning. ClipCache's cleanup function can also:
Even pasting is improved in ClipCache Pro! You can assign specific clips to hotkeys, for instant one-press pasting whenever you need it. PowerPaste performs a series of pastes of consecutive clips from a folder into the active application - great for filling out forms online. Enable Clipboard Routing, and everything that you copy to the clipboard is automatically pasted into another application.
The best part? ClipCache Pro is also available as a portable archive, small enough to fit on a portable USB flash drive so you can carry your clips with you wherever you go!
The latest and greatest version of ClipCache Pro comes on board with many performance enhancements, including support for Microsoft Vista's clipboard listener - ClipCache Pro brings the era of broken clipboard chains to an end!
I have tried it before, but now I use Typing Assistant. TA can cache multi-clipboard items, and has many other useful functions. www.sumitsoft.com
You may have used an older version of CC, but for sure you haven't used the latest becasue it was released after your post. I agree TA has features that CC doesn't, but conversely CC has many features that TA doesn't. Does TA let you organize clips in to folders and sub-folders, highlight/mark folders/clips, does it have a powerful search (wildcard and regular expression) to help you find those clips, does it let you clean-up text clips so you can remove all the ugly indents from emails and more, I could go on, but it's best for the readers to download and try it for themselves.
I was using another program but decided to give this one a try. I'm so glad I did. It does everything I'd been wishing my old app would do and so much more. I edit and move around large amounts of text and, twice now, I've lost an important piece and had to rewrite because the cut clip was too large for the application to handle. ClipCache is not so limited. It also solves one of the problems I had with formatting. Since I am able to set it to use my favorite font, I no longer have to either retype or reformat each bit I paste. When in doubt about whether or not to delete, I can just use cut (Ctrl+X) and the piece of text will be stored in ClipCache - forever, if I so choose. Other possibilities occur to me. I will definitely be keeping it.
Kalmly - thanks for the positive comments.
One of the features of the clipboard manager I'm currently using (Polar MultiClipboard) is the ability to share clips with other computers over the network. Have you considered adding this capability to ClipCache Pro? Alternately, does ClipCache Pro store it's clips in such a way that they could be shared with multiple computers (each running a copy of ClipCache Pro) via a network file server or something like drop.io ( http://drop.io/ )?
Rick, take a look at a previous Bits du Jour offering, Thornsoft ClipMate.
Thanks, Frank. Took a while to find it - BdJ badly needs a search function...20/20 hindsight shows googling for it would have been quicker :-(
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to share the file over a network. You would need to refresh the contents in CC to see new clips that had arrived in the database because CC wont do that for you.
A couple of the testimonials suggest that ClipCache can handle images, but I don't see any mention of images in the product description or features. Does ClipCache handle images as well as text? If so, can you provide a link describing how this feature works (e.g., both capture and paste)? Thanks.
Is it possible for your product LINKSTASH, you are offering today in parallel to a adiscounted price, instead of password-protect all links, just to protect certain directories (or is it planned for next future releases)?
Bob, CipCache captures images that are put on the clipboard as bitmap. It works just the same as text, but for images. For example, hit Alt+PrintScreen to capture the active window as an image.
Stefan, LinkStash is automatically discounted when buying CkipCache, you will receive that discount but not a BDJ discount on top of the applied LS discount. And you will receive the BDJ discount for CC. Password protected dirs is planned. The BDJ discount also applies to the family pack.
Posting here will also email XRayz Software directly.
Every day we offer 24 hour discount deals, on a Windows software application, or a web service. We feature our deals at a substantial discount; the discount is available for that day only.
We don't process the sales; we just arrange the discounts and provide the links. You buy the program right from its vendor. Everything we feature is a legal, current version of the product.
