You know you've got a lot of duplicate files on your hard drive, but you wouldn't dare try to clean them up yourself. Even though two files may have the same name, there's always a risk that they're actually different! Even worse, your system may need a copy of a file in a specific directory in order to run correctly -- delete the wrong file in the wrong folder, and your entire system may be ruined!

Clone Terminator is designed to clean your computer of unwanted duplicate files, safely. You see, Clone Terminator only searches for actual duplicate files by comparing the actual file data itself, so you can be positive that the duplicate files that you are deleting are truly exact copies of files that you already have! The result? Increased space on your drives and a marked improvement in total system performance!

You'll be amazed at how many duplicate files you have on your hard drive! Get a copy of Clone Terminator, and reclaim your disk space today!

Bob S Two concerns:
1. Page on your website (http://enplase.com/pages/...ption.html) shows price of $24.95, but price shown here is $29.95. Which "regular price" is correct?"
2. There is virtually no information on your website describing Clone Terminator (how it works; how it's better than alternatives; key features, options; screenshots; etc.) which makes it very difficult to evaluate.

Questions:
1. How accurate is comparison of two files? If CT says two files are identical, can I be certain that's true?
2. Can CT compare all kinds of files, including Powerpoint? .jpg? etc.
3. What options does the user have when running and using CT?

Thank you.

Ivan Grynko Hello, Bob!

Regarding concerns:
1. $29.95, corrected. Thanks.
2. You're right, we should add the information.

Regarding questions:
1. CT says that two files are identical if they have equal size and data inside. CT compares DATA of files. That's why it's sometimes not so rapid as we want, but it guarantees the accuracy of comparing. You can be certain that's true :)
2. Yes, it's compares ALL files regardless of their format.
3. CT is a program not for professional in computers, so there isn't a lot of options, but the main are:
a) Scan or not system files (it's switched off, by defualt, because it's dangerous to scan them)
b) File size filter - you can set minimal and maximal file size for comparing.
c) Exclude temporary files from scanning.

Thank you.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

Bob S Thanks. Two other questions:
1. When an identical file is identified, what is then done w/ the duplicate file(s)? Does one have the option of choosing which file(s) to keep?
2. Instead of deleting what appears to be a duplicate file, can one move the duplicate files to a "duplicate file folder" where I might keep them (perhaps ZIPPing them to save space), instead of deleting them right away.

As you can tell, I'm nervous about deleting what appears to be duplicate files. Thank you.

Bob S 1. Does CT use MD5 checksum to compare contents of files?
2. How long does it take CT to scan a hard disk (approximately 50Gb of data files)?

Ivan Grynko Dear Bob!

I'm glad to hear from you again!

1. Clone Terminator finds all identical files on the disk and then groups them. So you see just a list of groups of identical files. What you will do with these files - it's your choice. CT allows to easily delete some of them, or delete all of them or delete nothing - it's your choice. I note, that all files you wished to delete will be moved to the standard Windows Recycle Bin directory, so you can easily recover them.

2. CT compares file themselves, because even MD5 checksums are not unique. It means that different files can have equal checksum.

It takes some minutes (up to hour) to scan such drive. The actual speed of scanning depends on your hardware and number of identical files.

I recommend you to try it and then decide does it satisfie your needs. IT WILL NOT DELETE SOMETHING WOITHOUT YOUR AGREE, so don't be nervous, all be fine! Thanks.

Ash Goyal I installed a trial version to scan my music directory and it found 5 copies of a song in one album and grouped them together. It turns out these were 5 images of an album cover with 5 different names so my salute to the software, it does seem to work. I am in for the special price!

Ash Goyal Despite my good testing comments above, I had difficulty ordering with my credit card (messed up billing address). The credit card issue is now fixed but I am 3 hours too late to order this online. Any Enplase or Bits souls here would place an order for me at the discounted price? Thanks
