The new version 5.0 saw a 300% increase in monthly sales! Check out what's new in this version.

Have you ever tried to copy and paste a bunch of files that were in different folders? It can get a bit confusing! You have open windows plastered all over your desktop, and you're copying stuff here, then dropping it off, then copying stuff from somewhere else, then dropping it off -- not only is this time-consuming, it's extremely prone to error!

Copywhiz is a great utility that will add some sunshine to your file copy experience in Windows. With Copywhiz, you'll be able to pick files from different folder locations, then paste them all together, plus enjoy the benefit of filtering which files to copy! Do all of these right from Windows File Explorer.

I mentioned filtering -- that's the heart of Copywhiz! You can choose to copy only new and modified files, or copy files based on a specific file name or extension. You can also automate all of these by scheduling your file copy tasks using Copywhiz. Very useful for periodic file backups which we often ignore.

And instead of copying things one at a time from different locations, Copywhiz lets you collect files from different folders and paste them all together. Plus, Copywhiz is always watching out for you, so if there's a duplicate file, you'll always have the opportunity to review it and either overwrite or rename. A full list of files is always displayed for your review to ensure that you haven't missed anything!

Have you ever tried a bulk copy operation, only to see the whole job abort because there was an error with a single file? With Copywhiz, this will never happen to you! You will always have the chance to retry or skip a file without affecting the entire copy job!

Lastly, if you ever find yourself copying the same files over and over as part of your workflow, you'll be pleased to know that Copywhiz enables you to save that list of files to a project and reuse it again and again!

You may watch Copywhiz tutorial videos here.

M User Dear Gautam Jain,

In 2010 (!) you wrote on a comment: Noted your request for making resizable windows.

We're 2017 and still not resizible. Unbelievable, in fact: this is essential. A shame-'bug' anno these times. Please fix this asap.

In May 2014 you wrote: As of now we don't have a portable version of Copywhiz. We plan to make one in the near future.

We're 2017 in the meantime and guess what ... ?

Any idea when these promises come true?
Thank you.

Hello @M User, thanks for pointing this out.

We haven't seen much requests or annoyance-report for resizable window. And hardly anyone has requested for portable version. Since we had many other more important features to implement, we haven't implemented both these features. Cannot commit any dates as of now.

Do check out the latest version. It has come out very well.

Glen Hilton Hello Gautam Jain

M User makes a valid point with the resizable window. Who wouldn't like the idea? Having to scroll horizontally to see all the grid details is restrictive and a little annoying. True, many users couldn't be bothered emailing suggestions though a simple site checkbox vote for requested improvements would be simple for everyone. Also no "open", explorer menu or thumbs on the preview entries.

Thanks @Glen for emphasizing on the resizable window. Will again contemplate on this.

>> Also no "open", explorer menu or thumbs on the preview entries.

Thanks for reporting this.

Gautam Jain @Harald, upgrade price is $19.95. BDJ is a better deal.

@Marcel, yes Copywhiz works inside Dopus.

S User +2 ... no + 10 -at least- for M User !

Not being able to resize the Window is *very* frustrating, simply not of this time for any respectable software. And Copywhiz is good. So ...

Portable (or not installer version) like NoteZilla and RecentX: yes, yes, yes please!

Thanks in advance Gautam !!! :) And further: keep up the good work !

@Marcel Stumpel: Yes. Copywhiz supports DOpus (Pro), TC, XYplorer (Pro), xplorer2, ... And RecentX of cource ;)

RC Installed, tried, and immediately uninstalled due to lack of resizing. Probably would have purchased if it could be resized. Very much like your other product, RecentX, which can be resized.

Harald Vogel @Gautam yes, I already know that. But why is is that new users get a better price than your loyal customers? I don't want to buy again just upgrade!

RS I second Harald Vogel's remarks. I, too, am an owner of a v4 license, so I don't see why existing customers should be expected to pay more to upgrade than new users. Indeed, I think there should be a further incentive to current owners to upgrade!

RC Edit to clarify: My previous comment "Very much like your other product, RecentX, which can be resized." should be "I very much like your other product, RecentX, which can be resized."

@Harald, @RC

This price is only for 2 days for other users. But as an existing customer, you can get the upgrade price any time in future. That's the advantage you have. Others will have to pay $29.95 later.

Other than inability to resize, please look at various new features Copywhiz will provide that will save a lot of time. Not having Copywhiz will make the same file copy task very tedious.

RC I installed it again, gave it another try, but ended up removing the program. I thought perhaps the columns could be resized enough to make the program useful for me. For example, if I am familiar with my filetypes, I don't really want the "Type" column. But I can only squeeze or slim down the "Type" column slightly. In other words, the program mostly prevents you from resizing the columns to minimize one column of information and maximize the other. And you can't rearrange the columns. So, no go.

Gary Smith @Gautam Jain,

>Other than inability to resize, please look at various new features Copywhiz ...
You might be missing the point.

If I consider a new vehicle that is fast, can fly, and offers me unlimited Bandwidth while enjoying the vehicle, but the person that designed the vehicle was a very short person, and the seat will not go back far enough for me get in the driver's seat with my average length legs, and I comment to the designer what I consider a flaw, how should I respond to the designer when they tell me, "Other than inability for the seat to be adjustable to people with longer legs than myself, please look at various new features, such as an electronic security system that will prevent anyone from breaking into your vehicle while you are enjoying driving it?"

Until it is adjustable to my liking (like other applications), it is pointless to point out to me the many wonders it offers.

RS I'm sorry, but your responses to our queries regarding discounts for loyal customers and the failure to incorporate window resizing into CW fail to provide any reasoning or rationale for failing to address or consider these matters. Instead, in each case, you deflected and ignored our concerns. Surely your customers deserve better.

I am really thankful to all the above users for pushing the resizing-of-window enhancement in Copywhiz. I have put this on highest priority. By the month of April, I will add this enhancement in Copywhiz's current version.

Dennis McKay I looked at this yesterday and passed on it because of the window resizing problem. Because you are going to give it a priority I have decided to purchase it. Whether I remain a customer will depend on the support you give the software. Not only the windows resizing but also I noted one user who wanted the ability to delete a column he doesn't need and that is something I think all software should have the ability to do. Nothing like taking up screen space with unneeded information.

Looking forward to this.

RS Gautam Jain: Thank you for listening to the community regarding window resizing in CW. Now if you would address the issue of upgrades for existing customers at a cost that recognizes their loyalty over new customers, I'd appreciate it.

S User On Feb, 9 I order RecentX and Copywhiz (with 33% discount) as a combi-deal on Bits Du Jour. As I have no CC, nor PayPal I choose for wired tranfer.

But, I already try twice (with the correct elemenst for payment from Fastspring and in both cases I get a reject from the bank 'impracticable transfer'. There is enough provision on my bankaccount and I can pay other things without a problem.
I even can't pay in EUR ... it's only in USD - while the bank is only allowed EUR. It's impossible to buy for me. Never had this experience before with any deal on BDJ. Country = Belgium. Don't know what to do now.

Constantin Florea @S User, I just contacted the vendor regarding the issue you mention.

S User Thanks Constantin!

FastSpring reply: FastSpring handles payments and order processing on behalf of Conceptworld Store. Their store is only set up to accept: US Dollars.

But I can't pay in Dollar, only EUR. Between my two attempts to buy RecentX and Copywhiz combi-deal I pay another piece of software with bank transfer (in Euro) to MyCommerce (Digital River) and received the licence already in the meantime. So, there must be a problem for Belgian bank transfer-buyers with FastSpring. As I said above, never had this experience before with any deal on BDJ, while I used bank transfers. Anayway, thanks for the help, hope I don't miss these 2 pieces of great software. Already have NoteZilla, but in that time I have a CC.

Glen Hilton Hello Hello Gautam,

Good to see the window resize issue will finally be implemented. The new V5 keyboard shortcuts work in windows explorer though not Dopus. Are you able to provide a Dopus solution for similar integration. "Terra Copy" used a command for the toolbar (not just the context menu) .

HJ B An annoying problem, when copying in windows, relates to an attempt to copy a large number of files. If a file name is too long or if the file has certain other defects, windows will not copy it. The copying process stops until you press a button telling it to proceed. This may happen several times in one bulk copy effort. However, windows gives no facility for marking the file or easily making a copy of the file name and location, so that you can go back to it after the copying is completed, fix the file problem and copy it to the location it ought to be.

Does this copy program remedy that problem? If not, do you have a plan to address it in a future version?

@HJB, Copywhiz has an option to skip same errors. So if you get an error, you can skip same errors so that you are not prompted again for the same error. I think this feature will help you to complete the copy process using Copywhiz and later rectify the files with errors. Copywhiz will show you the log file with list of errors. If you have a similar case on your system, you can try copying those files using Copywhiz before deciding to purchase.

@GlenHilton, I haven't researched on short cut keys or similar integration for Directory Opus.

@SUser, looking in to this issue. Will email you.
