Ralph Bressler Wanted to get this program but keep getting multiple error messages related to the "database" while scanning. Also, I just downloaded from the website and I got a "new versions available" message. These two combined mean I will have to rely on the three or four other programs I have. Too bad!

William Feng The setup file you downloaded was an old version of Disk Space Fan. It seemed the old version is not compatible with your OS. We've fixed the download link. The latest version is 4.4.1.113.

Ralph Bressler OOPS! Almost finished the scan and got "Unhandled exception error." I pressed continue but perhaps this program is not ready for Windows 7 yet. So far I am not impressed.

William Feng Sorry for the inconvenience. Which version of Disk Space Fan did you use?

The latest version supports Windows 7. We've tested it on 32bit and 64bit version.

Jim Maas It took me a little while to appreciate this, but I am finally sold and bought it. It seemed like a cool simple utility with some value, but was it worth it? I downloaded the trial and it seemed cute. It wasn't until I turned on the Windows Explorer option and created a few custom filters for specific files types like txt and pdf did I see the value. I don't care too much about wasted hard drive space, I have a lot and it is cheap. My problem is that I am copying from many disk back ups from my other PCs is that my file system is getting out of control. By searching by a specific file type and getting a windows explorer listing, easier to read than the cute hard drive sector picture, did I see that I now have a tool to clean up my file system. I now see lots of duplicate directories. Thanks.

brenda adams I just downloaded onto my Win7 64 bit.
Program works good. I've looked at many screens and all seems fine here.
I have not attempted to purchase yet.

Ralph Bressler Brenda, I am glad it worked for you. Mine will scan some drives but I get an error with others. On the drives it will scan I always get an SQL database error before I can actually see the results of the scan. I don't know what to do as I have re-installed several times without any quick. I have 64-bet Win 7 on a machine only a month old so I am at a loss.

Ralph Bressler THe last time I installed the program it STILL was not working. It worked fine on my fixed drive C but would not work on the two external USB drives. Is this a known problem? Was it fixed?

brenda adams I bought (easy peasy) and registered. Works great. It did not put a shortcut on my Home "All Programs"... I had to do that manually. And I notice that the file was hard to find in Programs because naming is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cookapp\Disk Space Fan 4

Cookapp??? huh?

Product seems to work great otherwise (on Win7 64bit). :)

I like drilling down and seeing the different lists open. Very cool. Thanks! (PS: Have not tried on external drives so can't say if it works on those for me or not..)
