Joe McCormick I started with version 9. It worked OK but it was a bit quirky. It would not do updates very well and the install of of new drivers was not reliable. Then version 10 came out so I upgraded to it. It was a much improved program.
It would now update and install the new drivers with no problems. It has been almost two years since I upgraded to version 10. I am running it on a Windows 7 64 Bit system. I look forward to the new version 11 when is becomes available.

Version 10 had a license for 2 computers. What I would like to know, will the new version 11 be licensed on at least 2 computers?

Joe McCormick I download the Driver Genius 11 program. I started the install. This is the license agreement: "One registered copy of Driver Genius Professional Edition may be used by either a single person who uses the software personally on up to two computers that are directly under said user's control and whom no other user can access Driver Genius Professional Edition, OR installed onto a single computer, and, using the built in network functionality, connect to one other computer, but not both."
This is the same agreement that I have with the version 10.

Is the 1 computer usage policy different because it is being purchased through BitsDuJuor?

VLM Question for the developer: When I look at other programs in this genre, I notice that they advertise much larger databases than yours, which apparently contains about 60,000 drivers. Now, this may not be bad at all. My question is this: Do you restrict your driver database only to drivers from manufacturers, or do you also include/allow 3rd party drivers?

Don Curry-Allen Purchased it this morning, received invoice, but no licensing information. Called the payment processor, but they said that the vendor was a new partner, and they had no information about licenses. Don't know how I'm going to use the product that I paid for, as it requires the license code to operate??

Don Curry-Allen I downloaded the trial version, from the button in your email, and was impressed by the program, so I clicked on the registration button in the program to verify what the purchase price was. When the purchase info came up, it had the BitsDuJour discount listed. So, I assumed that it was safe to purchase. If you are telling me that this is bogus, I will request my money back from them!!

Aaron H. I've used a previous version of this software before, and it did find all of the drivers I needed - which was great - but it usually couldn't download them successfully from the driver website. Have those issues been addressed in this version?

Read my earlier post. Version 9 was a bit flaky. Version 10 was a great improvement. I can't say if version 11 is better the 10, but at least 10 has worked for me with little to complain about. I think that Avanquest will give you 30 days to try the program. If you don't like it you can request a refund.

But since it is being purchased from Bits DeJour, I don't know if the 30 days will apply. Maybe Nico will have to address that issue.

Tazzie Even with the BDJ discount, this could get pricey when trying to cover all computers in the house.

There was really no answer to Joe's questions about the 1-computer restriction. It seems that V11 gives a work around, but we need confirmation.

Also VLM was questioning about the low number of drivers compared to other similar programs ... many of us would like a response to the questions

If there are ways that one person each could use a license on one computer, that would go far to make it more affordable for multi-computer homes.

Paula Carlsen @ Tazzie, the Driver Genius EULA applies here - so the product can be installed on two computers used by one person - so your PC and your laptop, for example:

One registered copy of Driver Genius Professional Edition may be used by either a single person who uses the software personally on up to two computers that are directly under said user's control and whom no other user can access Driver Genius Professional Edition, OR installed onto a single computer, and, using the built in network functionality, connect to one other computer, but not both.

Regarding the number of driver - there are two different numbers used in the industry - 1) number of drivers and packages and 2) total number of drivers. Driver Genius counts a driver package (which could contain up to 6 different drivers) as 1 driver. If you counted drivers (not driver packages) the number would be MUCH higher. With any product, the only way to know if your PC hardware is covered is to download the trial.

Tazzie @ Paula ... thanks for the explanations! We also have the option to use our various programs' own ability to check for new drivers. and I've always looked at the driver programs as probably more of a double-check after using program updates to see what drivers still are not updated and get that taken with.

I am pleased with the two computer and one user option. Most of us have at least one computer of our own ... usually two (desktop/laptop), so this would help greatly in being able to keep all machines covered.

VLM Is there a problem at Avangate? Twice now, I've tried to buy the software. I enter all the info on the first order screen, choosing PayNearMe as the payment processing option, click OK or Submit or whatever the "yes" button says, and am returned to an empty shopping cart screen.

Cheryl Rutherford Here's what I have a problem with, with your software. I purchased Version 10 in September of 2011 and already Version 11 is out and NOW I cannot access the database for updates on your server UNLESS I PAY YOU AGAIN FOR THE NEW VERSION.

WHY IS THAT AVANQUEST????????? My purchased software is NOT even a year old and NOW it does not work.

BEWARE THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE THINKING OF PURCHASING THIS. AND, YOU CAN'T EVEN CONTACT THESE PEOPLE!@!!
