Graham Will this software work permanently. By this I mean. Will I be able to access the driver database and download drivers say three years from now from a one time purchase or do I HAVE to renew the licence every year otherwise it stops being usefull

At this stage, we need to charge a yearly fee to support the research, development and maintenance of our products to be able to constantly improve upon on them and keep it High Quality.

For instance, maintaining an ever-growing database of tested and validated drivers is no easy task, but we work hard to do so.

Additionally, we also offer FREE product updates and upgrades to all users with a subscription, which quite a few companies make you pay for.

Product renewals are also made affordable with great discounts for returning customers, ultimately offering great value to users.

That said, we definitely intend to offer better long term subscriptions plans in the future.

Nick Kobe I'm interested in Driver Reviver. However, I have 1 desktop computer, 3 tablets, and 3 laptops. I use all of these computers depending on my needs. How does this program compare to Drive Detective? Do you have plans for a "user" license? Though I probably own more computers than the average user it is much more common for users to own multiple computers. Frankly, I do not buy software that does not offer a "user" license since it is very costly and cumbersome to mange licenses. Please email me when you offer a "user" license as I'd like to buy.

1. Of all the driver update software that I have tested, this is the only one that has worked for me without a glitch.

2. I also like buying software with lifetime upgrades. Maybe if the price of your software with lifetime upgrades was equal to 2 or 3 years of subscription payments you could afford it? Alternatively, devising a scheme of discounts for 2 or 3 years of subscriptions, bought with the original purchase might also be good.

3. A suggestion: when drivers are installed, some of them require that you restart your computer. It would be nice to show a warning NOT to restart until the installation of all drivers is complete.

4. And finally, is this promo coming back any time soon?

We'd like to say DR combines a well-refined scan engine, a massive database of safe and tested drivers and a robust user interface to make updating drivers effortless. The high degree of professional after-sales support is probably the best part.

As for your second question, I'm afraid we don't offer a multi-user license just yet, but it's definitely in the works. At this stage though, we work with our customers on a case-to-case basis and offer them a tailor-made solution.

Ideally, we try to offer customers the best in terms of pricing and support for the purchase of multiple licenses. We understand the growing need for such licensing plans and expect to have something available very soon.

Brad Rogers Purchased a license this morning and used it once. Now it tells me the license has been used already and I have to purchase an additional license. I have only installed it on one computer. I did update all drivers but I also updated my motherboard drivers and bios. Maybe it has changed my computer ID. How do I fix this and if I can't how do I get a refund?

Thanks for sharing your concern. We believe the BIOS update affected your license status because it is one of the key parameters that we use to generate a User ID for your PC.

In general, major changes in your computer hardware or the Windows OS may affect your license status, in which case a quick email to support@reviversoft.com will help you reactivate the product again! (I see that you've been assisted by our team)

As for the difference in results, please write to support with the exact details of the driver updates and maybe screenshots supporting your claim. Our team will be happy to investigate further and offer you an update.

From the last two posts it seems clear that DR is hardware locked (activated) to the first unit it's installed on.

It would be good if this was mentioned in the policy section, as many of us base our purchasing choices on such things.

We do advertise that the product comes with a "1 PC" license - meaning the license is designed to work only on 1 computer, which is made possible by our product uniquely identifying your computer hardware for reference (Technical details available here: reviversoft.com/discussions)

Typically, this holds good for most computers users, wherein they choose to buy a license for the computer they wish to use it on.

That being said, our support team can also help advanced users with their not-so-common licensing requirements. Transferring the product from an old computer to a new one is also possible.

Driver Reviver can be as flexible as you want it to be and we're here to help you achieve that.

Thom Davies Can you say POOR business ethics? I am an IT Tech so I decided to run this after running HP's version. If I download a trial I expect to see what I am buying. Supposedly I have 3 out of date drivers. Prove it! Well your response is pay us $30, that is not a trial. That is bait and switch and therefore does not say much for your product. OOOPS.

While we try to advertise the free download of Driver Reviver as a "Free Scan" wherever possible , most sites tend to promote the product as a "Free Trial/Shareware" with it being a widely accepted classification.

In any case, computer users have the option of running a free driver scan using Driver Reviver to see if they have outdated drivers on their PC and then purchase a license to unlock full functionality and update drivers. As a part of their purchase, they have a 30 day trial period to thoroughly evaluate the product and return it for a full refund if they're unhappy with it for some reason. This practice is also termed as a Product Trial.

At ReviverSoft, our intention remains to help users realize the need for the product and subsequently help them evaluate it further to revive their PCs in the best way possible.

Driver Reviver is limited to a "Free Scan" collectively due to the nature of the product, frequency of usage and the difference in scan results across computer users. The way the trial currently works helps support the continued development and maintenance of the product ensuring excellent levels of performance and reliability.

Aleksandr Oreshkin I am looking for a driver finding solution both for my personal computers as well as something to use during my work.

Currently there is DriverEasy and DriverGenius, DriverEasy offers $2 per use on a client computer.

What I want a software like this to have is a lifetime version for personal use and a portable version to use on client computers. It simply isn't viable to pay $30 for a one year license of a program to download drivers, windows 8 operating system cost $40. Maybe I will reformat one computer twice in one year for a stupid reason, I do not think two uses of the program are worth paying $30. Much rather run DriverEasy overnight at 30k capped upload and pay $1 to electric bill.

Noggin The Nog Is it possible to transfer DR to another computer, if only on replacing ones computer?

Running DR I got a most unusual result. whereas the 3 or 4 other programs I have tried purported to identify dozens of drivers that needed to be updated, DR idenitified none.

I know that when I last tried another program, and cautiously installed some of the drivers downloaded as needful updates on system created on a spare drive by restoring an image file backup to that drive, they messed up the system. With most of these driver update programs, having idenitified scads of updates one then has the tricky problem of trying to sort out the false positives, requiring research and trialing of the updates offered, greatly derogating from or even more than eliminating any benefit provided by the driver update program.

Could this be because the reviewers measure such programs in terms of the proportion of updates found, without regard to the ability of the program to avoid false positives? Considering how much harm can be done by making a mistake about a driver update, it is surprising that this aspect of such programs is not addressed in reviews.

I have no way of knowing whether DR has achieved the absence of false positives at the expense of missing desirable updates, but it would be nice to think that I have finally found something that will do what is necessary without messing up my system with false positives.

uuuh....Oooops, no, I want a product that works instead.
I am glad you dont offer a cheap lifetime subscription because it would be an indication that the product wont really work.

Is there a realistic thing to offer a one time price for a lifetime access ? Or maybe if you take $200 one time fee and then $5 a year ?

I find it weird that some people dont seem understand that making a product like this has ongoing costs, year after year.

How many thousands of subscribers is needed to keep this afloat year after year ?

I tried a competing software that reported 45 (!) outdated drivers--a claim I found hard to believe. I spotted your product on BDJ and did some research. Your product got good reviews on the web, and one sreputable site rated it #1 among rival products. Good! I tried your free scan and it reported five outdated drivers--obviously no inflation. So I decided to purchase the product as it was discounted as well.

I did the driver update. Ind the middle of the process my screen went black, shut down and went on to an unfamiliar DOS screen and then to the usual DOS screen one gets after an abrupt shutdown. Then it rebooted to the desktop. Driver Reviver was opened with a report: PC health-Excellent; outdated drivers found-zip; drivers updated-zip. This is hard to fathom. Outdated drivers or not, my pc was working fine--this I knew.

I downloaded your trial, and as soon as it was installed, it took me to your website, where my "Web of Trust" icon lit up in all red under all areas, including reliability, trustworthiness, privacy, etc., with all POOR ratings.

Could you please comment about why I should trust my operating system's drivers to a site that has been so poorly rated? [I am an IT Tech and I know such ratings aren't always reliable, but there are many pages of poor comments there, many of which sound quite reliable...]
