Bob Bush "Transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed." So, if I get a new computer I need to buy another license. Not a good deal. I'll pass.

Knight Same here... When will people learn to make license agreements that actually make sense?

Brad Same here....My purchase is "Dead in the water". The statement: "Transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed." Is a non-starter…it's what I appreciate about BitsDuJour, like a "Band of Brothers", looking out for the interests of the community many of us share this vitriol for nonsensical, other-worldly software policy restrictions. What on earth are these developers thinking. I may not have caught this had I not noticed the the comments. Thanks guys!

Johno Totally agree with the previous comments. Was seriously considering this program. Its wrong when innocent users must suffer because of the dishonesty of some. Even at least a basic system where we need to go through the process of re-activating once its installed on a different computer would at least provide an option to this situation - but not even that is offered. EasyHTML5Video, Please consider these many statements.
Good call for making note of this guys.

John User Thanks for highlighting that guys, easily overlooked by people, including me.

CodeDog Agreed. I had to replace my system a few months ago, and found out then that a piece of software I use regularly had that clause. Had to repurchase it. Decided then never to buy another package with that limitation.

I can understand people wanting to protect their intellectual property, but as Johno said it's not that hard to provide for a change in systems with a re-activation.

And these days, it also shouldn't be a big deal if people want to use software they purchase on two different systems they own...

Daryn Bogart While I agree with the other commenters regarding the inability to transfer the license to another owned computer, I understand the why.

This is because the company does not want consumers to simply claim they have had a hard drive crash or a system replaced and have transferred their license to a new system. What they SHOULD do instead is what many other companies have done and have an online registry where the product checks an online server each time the app launches and if the same license key launches from multiple systems, then both licenses become invalidated until the consumer contacts the company to correct the situation or pay for the second license. This would prevent the "piracy"

Vivaldi No transfer, no sale.

@Johno and @ Daryn Bogart have already explained the solution, so I won't repeat.

Edit: I just read the older comments. People said the same thing 5 years ago.

james User I am not a software developer either, but I have bought so much software and the best is where you can un-register your computer and then register another computer. Even if they sold if for $10.00 more with that function I would buy this.

Kukac Kukac Now I want to change my machine, within a couple of months. I'm sure I will not pay for any software I can not transfer over again, whatever it is ...
