What are people saying about Excel Supercharger - Professional

Lee H I installed the trial to see how this world work. Unfortunately, I immediately received an error that the program would not run correctly because it was "Unable to load DLL 'IDMBLib64.dll". The specified module could not be found."

I'm not going to buy this if it will not run!

Ian User Very strange, it normally installs fine

It looks like there may be a permissions issue with the licencing software.

I'll respond to your email directly with the fix when I've looked at it more deeply

Ian User The issues described in the previous comments, relate to security protection on your machine. If you see this type of message, just run the installer in Administrator Mode.

Mappi75 Looks interessting but license looks restrictive..

only 1 pc and 3 times limited activation ?

Ian User That’s a pretty normal licensing model for this kind of software. A per-machine price allows us to offer very competitive pricing.

If you are looking for multi-machine installations or site licences, then contact us at support@idmb-advisory.com and we can discuss options.

Ian User The 3 activations allows you to uninstall the software on one machine and then run it on a second machine. Once installed on a machine, it can be run as often as you wish, there are no in-built limits.

Mappi75 But i cant activate it 4 times ?

Thanks for helping.

Ian User I’m not sure why you need multiple activations? 3 is usually more than enough to accommodate changing hardware. Am I missing something?

Mappi75 I often changin my hardware or reinstall my windows especially win 10 make some troubles in the past.

So thats why i dont want a activation limit and have to rebuy the software.

Ian User If you run into trouble, we can add activations, but that would be the exception, rather than the rule. We would not want you to pay for additional licenses just for a hardware change, but we limit activations to prevent constant swapping between devices. If we don’t do that then we can’t sell at these prices.

If you need unlimited installs then that would be a different price, which you can get from support@idmb-advisory.com

For the record, we have never made someone buy a second licence because activations have expired.

Paul Policies like this make for easy decisions for me when I want to purchase software. Perhaps the devs use the same computer for years and never have a computer problem, but perhaps they don't install tons of software on their computers either. I install a lot of software on my computer and notice some software conflicts with others and I'm constantly having to reinstall Windows, at least twice a year. These "hardware" limitations count it as a new computer every time you do a reset, furthermore, if I buy software, I want to use at least the version I paid for, for however long I choose, regardless what computer I buy. The general public just can't afford to re-purchase every piece of software every time we get a new computer. Especially, the fact that this software is just a tool that makes "copy and paste" easier, I find the limitations nothing more than a way to make more money, they can't possibly expect is to re-purchase this software over and over.

These company's don't invest a single dime in prosecuting software pirates, they consider that money a lost cause, to counter it, they try to squeeze every single dime they can from honest paying customers. I don't do business with companies like this. Best of luck to them.

Ian User As I said earlier, we have never charged for someone to simply move or reinstall a licence (and we have no intention of ever doing so), but if you don’t like our licence terms, then I understand.

I suggest you trial the software for 30 days, and you will find it is far more than ‘just cut and paste’... it costs you nothing and you can make an informed decision.

William W. Geertsema I am puzzled as never before. I paid for this program, and attempted to download it. All download links (BitsDuJour page, received email, etc.) lead to the download of Glarysoft's MalwareHunter, NOT to the download of the program purchased (IDMB Add-In for Excel).

What is going on? How do I obtain the program I purchased?

Constantin Florea @William W. Geertsema, The download URL is:
https://www.idmb-advisory...cel-add-in
and the home page URL is:
http://www.officesupercha...arger.html

I tried both of these URLS on two computers and I am directed to the correct pages on both computers. I believe you may have a software application installed which redirects to the page you mention.

Ian User William, I agree with Constantin... I tested the links on my machine and they work fine.

I'll send you a direct download link on your e-mail as a backup plan.

Techtoysavvy Great Idea!
I've been trying to buy software like this for a while.
.. but I have one big requirement
I need to be able to paste tables or ranges to a fixed position in Powerpoint.
Once again, I need to specify the (x,y) coordinates in Powerpoint.
Lack of this feature has forced me to write my own code (macros) to perform the copy-paste. I really don't want to maintain my own code. It's cheaper to buy.

Ian User Techtoysavvy: Sorry, this is not possible in the current version of the supercharger. I will add it to the candidate list for future development.

Techtoysavvy We generate management packs in a similar way. There are multiple charts and tables on a single powerpoint slide and the placement need to be precisely identical for each chart or table to match a dashboard template.
I define an (x,y) coordinate and slide number for each named range or chart that needs to be transferred. This runs in a loop to generate hundreds of slides.

Ian User Yes, the Supercharger does a similar thing, but without the (x,y) ability. It was designed to solve the same problem. As I said earlier, the (x,y) would be a nice addition, but unfortunately not available yet.
