Well, it's happened again - you're in email jail, unable to send any new outgoing messages because your inbox is full, which means your entire workflow is going to be held up while you go and delete items to get back in the clear. It's not really the email messages that bulks up your inbox, it's all of those attachments - the Word files, Powerpoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets that everyone in your office sends via email. If you want to optimize / reduce PDF and image files as well, you can get FILEminimizer Suite 7.0 with a 50% discount!

FILEminimizer is an amazing app that reduces / optimizes the size of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files without changing their formats. The reduced versions of these files can be opened and viewed just like the originals, with no unzipping (no zip or rar archives are created) or decompression required.

Sure, I can hear you say, FILEminimizer makes my files smaller, but it can't be THAT good, can it? Eat those words! FILEminimizer lives up to its name by featuring file reduction of up to 98%! A 50Mb file shrinks to less than 1Mb! The software uses an intelligent optimization technique which reduces / optimizes pictures and embedded objects without negatively impacting the original file format and quality.

FILEminimizer is a must-buy for any Microsoft Office-based operation. The software works with all Microsoft Office files, including the DOCX, XLSX and PPTX file format that debuted with Microsoft Office 2007. FILEminimizer even contains a handy search wizard that will scan your network for all Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, and has an Outlook add-in that will automatically reduce / optimize your attachments before your email is sent!

Bruno Verschraegen Hi, let me repeat the question posed by Ray Greene in the old comments and which did not receive a reply : "Will it shrink Word & Excel files which don't contain images, and if so by how much approximately?"

Valentin Zemp @Bruno Verschraegen : Hi, yes but it always depends on the files itself how much the can be reduced. FILEminimizer always gives its best to achieve the best result.

Mike Henning Hi,
what's when the program for any reason is not moree working? Is it possible to open the treated office files without fileminimizer working?

Marcelo B Hi, +1 to the question from Mike Henning, which didn't receive a direct answer. What if the program [Fileminimizer] is not working anymore or it gets uninstalled?
Is it still possible to open the "treated" Office files without Fileminimizer working or installed?
And, despite the answer from Valentin Zemp "If you have any problems with the software you can write an email to 'supportbalesio.com'"... it happens that your "FINE PRINT" says that "support is not provided".
Thanks.

Valentin Zemp @Marcelo B: Yes, it doesn't matter if FILEminimizer is installed or uninstalled.
If you once optimized the files, they will stay as they are forever, except you change them.
Actually the free version doesn't include support, you're right there, but we still try to help as much people as we can although the support isn't actually included.

Paul joubert Valentin - Simply put : I install FILEminimizer Office 7.0. I have some problems and issues which may or may NOT be due to the installation of FILEminimizer. I UNINSTALL FILEminimizer and go back to using Microsoft Office.
Will the FILEminimizer minimised PST (email word etc) files still be avaiable and readable to MS Office programs?? Or do i have to restore the documents to the original MS Office format (& how?). This is very very important because the RISK of losing information for the sake of saving disk space (which is becomming cheaper by the day) is to my mind not justifiable, even though it is free.

Nelson Therrien I already have Acrobat XI (which can compress PDF), Photoshop CC and Fireworks CS6 (which can both compress images)... Do I really need the Suite version? Can it really be better than those high end programs?
Aug 23 2013 at 5:36am Copy Link

Valentin Zemp @Paul joubert: All the files remain in the original format, they are just lighter afterwords. So there is no need to worry, you can work with the files after the optimization without any problems.

Valentin Zemp @Nelson Therrien: Acrobat or Photoshop maybe reduce the files by 10-20%, but if you use FILEminimizer you can reduce the files up to 98%.
I suggest you to try it out.
Download the Trial Version of FILEminimizer Suite here:
http://www.balesio.com/fi...wnload.php

And then first optimize a pdf file with Acrobat and then with FILEminimizer.
Please share with us your results.

Nelson Therrien That's what I had in mind (to test with the trial version)...

Here's my conclusion: It really depends on your files, so, download the trial version first...

On my side, after testing with compression levels 2, 3 and 4, I found out that:
- some files are actually bigger than the original ones! Often slightly bigger (but still bigger) and other times (specially the PowerPoint files) twice the size!!
- the compression level for images is about the same (in quality and size) as Fireworks does with a compression of 70 to 78, depending on the settings in FileOptimizer;
- I only had small pdf files, but the compression in Acrobat was better than with FileOptimizer;
- probably the bigger the original file is (and the more images it contains), the bigger the compression will be...

So, for me, I'll probably go with the free standard version for Word files, and keep using my other softwares for pdfs and images...

HJ B The questions not yet answered are:

1. If I use file minimizer on am MS office file, can I send the file to someone who does not have file minimizer, and will the file work properly for that other person?

2. Exactly what is it that file minimizer strips out of an MS office file? For example, if a font has been imbedded in the file, does file minimizer strip it out without giving me the option to retain it?

Jim Buchanan Hi.
I just downloaded FILEminimizer about 15 minutes ago and have as yet not received my key yet. Is there a problem with sending them out?
