Roberto just starting with the trial.

after create an entry, the default date is set to today, but it looks like 010/24/2011 and not 10/24/2011.
The first 0 has some meaning? (spanish local, currency to EUR)

i scheduled one entry, a montly payment. How I can know how the entry is scheduled? i can see a diferent colour, but when i press the schedule button there is not appear the current settings.


btw, very nice interface. Really confortable and eye pleasant.

Elegance Software, Inc. Hi Roberto! Thank you for feedback. This "0" before month number recently was fixed, so you can download new build from our website.
Second question. You can view a transaction schedule plan. Go to main toolbar - 'Scheduler'- 'Scheduled Income' or 'Scheduled Expenses' depending on the type of transaction. In the grid you should see you transaction and there are column with label 'Schedule description' than describes a schedule.

i have one more issue. when going to Budget button, a message of "Updating exchange rates..." appears:

"exchange rate updating not complete. the web server may be busy.. please try again"

Currency conversion happens when you have accounts with diff currencies, if all you accounts in one currency, there is no need to convert to default currency.

M B Hello, A couple things. First, is it possible to make it so when the user clicks to add a transaction that it automaticly opens the first input cell ready to type and not have to manually double click. In fact that would be helpful in many ways to this program.

Second, will there be an import feature in the program?

Third, this program looks in one sense like an envelope budgeting system making the user select a category for each transaction, but there I see no way to budget like an envelope system.

Could you please elaborate on your methodology for the program.

i need a really basic acounting and i feel confortable with the current features.

at first i was afraid about adobe air stuff... but i wanted to give this a try because the interface looks great (i give them a 5 star :)

after play 2 or 3 hours, the software is stable, i hope to enjoy with the charts when i entry more transactions.

i love how the scheduler works,

i have very few wishes:

- i cant move (order) transactions or categories in the grid. Would be nice to create all the transactions, and order them later in each category, just moving them (drag&drop) or with a "send to" context menu.

- i wish to see the overall balance in some visible place (without doing a review).

- i wish to have the date format as dd/mm/yyyy and not mm/dd/yyyy

- sometimes i miss an undo command (maybe i want to create a transaction and the cursor was not in the good place... its a pain to fix)

- the currency conversor works slow for me. There are many convertions and i think mostly of us will use 3 or 4. Would be nice to configure this with less countries.

- when i edit a schedule the current values are not loaded in the edit form. The dates some times are like 10/1/2011 and not 10/01/2011. Something similar happen with the numeric values. Press create new account and you will see a 00.00 initial balance (0.00 will be nicer).

- the print output looks like in a basic stage.

these are all my **MINOR annoyances**, and i can live with them.

in overall... and looking the 9.99$ deal, this looks like a great app.

Great review ! Thanks so much and hopefully the developer will respond as to your "Wish List" items - I look forward to hearing what they have to say.

As to the currency conversion, I wonder why that is slow - perhaps they would comment on that also - having a lot of different currencies available is an asset but why that would cause it to run slowly requires the developers input.

With regard to date format, that is important and different countries as well as different users have various preferences. Personally I like yymmdd and with the preferences you mention, I would hope the developer considers building them into say a user set-up panel of options on first use of the software.

The other things you mention are also really good observations and I look forward to seeing how the developer responds.

About slow currency convertion - it is not because there are many currencies available in program (it does not require a lot of resources). Converter always convert 1to1 currency at a time. Most of the time is the server's response to the request, and its speed does not depend on the program unfortunately,

Regarding the currency conversion using a server.... Does that mean a user cannot put in their own currency conversion rate?

If that is the case that a user cannot put in their own currency conversion it could cause several problems I can think of:

1) What happens if you put in an entry 3 months after the transaction itself - the currency conversion will have changed in that time - which conversion is applied : the rate of the transaction going back 3 months or the rate applying on the date the transaction was entered?

2) Not everyone gets the same currency conversion rate - I don't want a server to pick a rate for me - can that be turned off and a user be able to put in the rate they want to apply to the transaction?

3) If the software is looking for a server connection every time a currency transaction is entered, what happens when you are entering a foreign currency entry and you are not connected to the Internet?

Software is not looking every time for server, it is only when it necessary to make conversion beetween currencies. You can create accounts with diff. currencies and you free to enter transactions without internet connection. But when you want to see overall balance or common budget then conversion is need, so you can see data in one preferred currency, otherwise, how to display the total balance in different currencies.

M B Well, went ahead and purchased the program as I want to support good finance software.

I do hope that you make the "Add" button activate the first cell automaticly as it would speed things up for the user.

Would you also consider more icons to represent the various accounts please. Ladybugs, and hearts are good but not overly representative of accounts.

I did not have chance to test drive it myself yet but for this price which includes Free Lifetime Upgrades, I figured I couldn't go too far wrong.

Also, I hope that the developer has a keen interest in making this software a flagship product and will listen to and implement the sensible user requests I have seen made here today.

Anyway here are some questions; I'm based in the UK - I like the user friendly style of this software program, but how suited will it be dealing with sterling, British products. Will it give me the chance to enter transactions the British way dd/mm/yy. Can I still download on line bank statements to my account by dragging and dropping files into the program. can i use a £ sign rather than GBP. thanks for getting back to me - Ankiro
