Robert Reese Sorry, lost a sale... I will not purchase software that requires online activation, especially with hardware UID. I've had too many bad experiences in the past to trust this. Unfortunate because I wanted this software.
May 22 2011 at 6:05pm
james gozhhu Thank you Robert, really, you do not need to be worry about the activation, you can reactivate your computer 2 times in a month automatically. I helped one of my customer for reactivation more than 10 times. If you do not like the activation process any more, we can refund your payment without any question.
So try it please, it is the best time to buy this smart photo album maker, includes our ideas.

Julie Miles Norton deletes this file when I try to download it, and when I disable Norton and try to run it in Sandboxie, it won't run because it can't access the level of rights it needs. I'm pretty leery about letting any program loose on my system without any form of control - can you explain why the program is raising so many red flags?
May 26 2011 at 4:24am
james gozhhu Hello Julie,
Thank you for your message. Yes norton reports virus for our program, because we add some protection to the program, they thought it is a virus. We will release another version without protection and RED flags tomorrow.
Thank you again.

james gozhhu Hello Hans,
Thanks for your comment, the best part of program is creating, so we did not talk too much about publishing, sorry about that.
The final output file is SWF or EXE file ( you can see video on this page which created by our FFAD2), so you can upload it to the website, we have a free uploader and free web space, you can upload your albums to our website, public or private.
You can find more works on our site: www.swfbar.com

Trucker When a program like Norton says that a program isnt okay then do I listen to Norton. I wonder why Kaspersky didnt show anything sign of warning at all... Kaspersky is known for sending out warnings if an ant cross the table in the next room.
I agree with Julie Miles on this one as I got the same result.
May 29 2011 at 1:27am
james gozhhu Hello Trucker,
You are right. I just installed a Norton for testing, but, my computer can not open any website right now, and I can not uninstall it too. I have scanned our program, but there is nothing wrong with Norton. Hope you can send me a screenshot of the warning with norton, it will help us to solve this problem.
I have posted a link for the result of all major antivirus program (no norton, sorry). Please check it: http://virusscan.jotti.or...d4542974a5
Thank you again!

Don Goddard James,
Thanks for offering FLIP Flash Album Deluxe 2 on Bitsdujour. It looks like a very interesting and useful software. I have a question about licensing. I have one possible use that may not fall under your home license agreement, but I am not sure. Which license would you suggest if I wanted to embed a FLIP Flash Album into an exe created by another program? I use NeoBook (http://www.neosoftware.com) for many projects. That program allows me to embed a swf file within the content I layout.

Also, AiO Flash Mixer looks interesting. I like the description and plan to test it. Do you plan on adding a feature to include live hyperlinked text inside the swf it creates?

Thank you very much.
May 29 2011 at 1:41am
james gozhhu Thank you Don. With home license, you can share photo albums with family, friends or on the website. If you need to create album and sell them (with NeoBook), you need commercial license.
I am very glad that you like our other programs, the Flash Joiner can adds hyperlinked text, you can found it at our download page : http://www.goztun.com/downloads

Let me know if you need any help.
GozTun.com Vendor - May 29 2011 at 1:51am
Trucker You will get more info from installing Norton on your own PC than any screenshot is able to show. Btw there is more than one warning, so it would demand a lot of screenshots.
May 29 2011 at 2:12am
Don Goddard Thanks for the quick reply. Your license policy seems fair and I don't have a problem with a commercial license for software I sell. At this time I don't plan to sell any of my software. I usually create software to help with projects at work. Will I need a commercial license for freeware applications?

Thanks.
May 29 2011 at 2:13am
james gozhhu Hello Trucker,
Thank you for your reply. Yes I installed the Norton already. All I want is the name of virus, because Norton did not detect any virus from our program. Here is a screenshot for my Norton's result.
http://www.goztun.com/images/norton.jpg
Or please send me the name of virus.

Thank you!
GozTun.com Vendor - May 29 2011 at 2:59am
james gozhhu Hello Don,
Yes you do not need commercial license for freeware applications. Just home license or website license.
Thank you!

Louis Gedo I installed the program but when I tried to build a book not from one of the templates, nothing worked in the preview. It is too frustrating and not intuitive of an application. Make the app work and make it intuitive and you will have a customer.

Vivaldi Norton has a problem with software that uses certain permissions, or is relatively unknown to them. It's related to SONAR. (Turning SONAR off won't solve the problem, but it will cause Norton to keep giving you all sorts of warning about your computer being at risk.) Many Norton users choose not to allow the program to report back, so the information they get regarding the 'number of users who have downloaded this software' suggests to SONAR that the software might be a problem. This also occurs if the software itself needs permissions to do its thing.

I don't remember all the details right now, but I had this problem with another program I bought from BDJ. A Google search showed that these warnings and refusals to allow downloads and installations have been happening from at least 2009 (start of SONAR?). Norton is aware of the problem, and is working on a hotfix. For the past 2+ years.

The workaround is supposed to be listing the 'questionable to Norton' file in the exclusions list. I haven't tried this yet. I suspect that rather than go through all the hassle, I'll find another anti-malware suite, if possible. I haven't yet checked it with the latest version of 360, either.

To those BDJers who say they'd rather trust Norton than the developer: I'm a diehard Norton fan. I've used the software for almost 15 years. So when I suggest that you *don't* trust Norton on this one, it's without ulterior motive. If you run a scan on the exe file with Malwarebytes, it will probably come up clean. Then use Norton to run the same scan. It's going to come up clean. That's what happened to my other file. Yet Norton still wouldn't allow me to install the files.

The problem isn't malware in the program file, it's the way Norton is reading the program's coding.

This isn't meant to be a review of Norton, nor do I want to start a debate. I'm just offering some background into a specific problem.

It just isn't fair to any developer to have their software evaluated and rejected based on a known issue with a specific anti-malware suite giving false positive readings.
May 29 2011 at 5:05am
Julie Miles Mariann, I understand what you're saying, and to a certain extent I agree with you. However, when I'm looking at some unfamiliar software by a developer I don't know, I'm inclined to err on the side of caution. For me, it's not about whether it's fair to the developer or not, it's about keeping my system free of malware - even if that means I miss out on some genuine goodies in the process.
May 29 2011 at 5:17am
james gozhhu Hello Louis,
Thank your for your report. Is English your default language on your computer? Sorry I just checked it and it works. So can I contact you to fix this problem?
You can try to select a template first, then try previewing, to see the flipping effects.
Thanks!
GozTun.com Vendor - May 29 2011 at 5:23am
Vivaldi @Julie Miles - actually, I completely agree with you :) That's my reasoning too. I just wanted to put it out there that Norton is only one variable to consider, and in this instance, that variable has a major flaw which apparently isn't too well known.
May 29 2011 at 5:31am
james gozhhu Hello Mariann,
Thank you for your clear explain, not for me, for all developers :).
We want to try all antivirus program to make customers satisfiable, but it is not easy.

Julie,
Our aim is not build malwares and antivirus, our aim is selling softwares, so if you do not trust us, you can trust BitsDuJour, right?
So if you like this program and you trust in BitsDuJour, just install it. You have my word.
PS: Can you send me the name of virus from Norton?
Thank you!

Mike Carlson Want to publish on a facebook fanpage using iframes. Is this possible. If possible, please show us how it can be done. Need an example.
Thanks
Mike
May 29 2011 at 5:39am
james gozhhu Hello Mike,
Yes if you know HTML, just add it like an image, iframe src="http://www.xyz.com/photoalbum.swf" width=800 height=600/iframe.
Or you can select "File"-"Export HTML", to generate a HTML page, then include this page into your iframe.

If you do not know how to do it, just contact me at support@goztun.com, I will help you to add it step by step.
Thank you!
GozTun.com Vendor - May 29 2011 at 6:00am
Julie Miles James, Norton considers your program a threat based on a "low reputation score" rather than a specific virus (WS.Reputation.1). I'm not sure what that means, but it appears to be a threat. In addition, they block navigation to your web page on the grounds that it's a "known malicious website". As for your comments: firstly, I don't know whether I like your program or not, since I haven't been able to download and install it. Secondly, I don't necessarily distrust either you or BDJ, but neither do I distrust Norton and, since I'm paying for Norton's advice and protection, it would be rather stupid to ignore it.
May 29 2011 at 9:09am
Vivaldi Julie,

I just contacted James directly about this. The Norton results mean that his file may use programming code that isn't common, or his program is not used by a lot of people who use Norton, or it may be used by a lot of people who don't let their Norton anti-malware report back to Symantec about the programs they use. It gets flagged with Heuristic.ADH, which means it's flagged as possibly malicious coding but without identifying any actual malicious code. It's basically an AI that needs a human to evaluate the results.

I suggested James contact Symantec directly so that he can submit his software to them for a real evaluation.

His site is being flagged as malicious because his software is there, available for download. It becomes a vicious cycle.

And once again, I agree with you. I don't know if I like the software because I can't get it to evaluate it. Even if we could download it, as soon as we tried to install, it's gone. Norton won't even give the option to override. (I know from my last experience with this.)

As to your final comment '...but neither do I distrust Norton and, since I'm paying for Norton's advice and protection, it would be rather stupid to ignore it.': Amen to that! It's why I chose to ask James to settle this with Symantec rather than click on the 'go to website anyway' option that's on the block page. :)

May 29 2011 at 9:33am
Julie Miles Mariann - a much more constructive approach than mine ;-) I was a little irritated by the "trust me, I'm harmless" attitude, since I believe the onus isn't on me to decide who to trust, but on the developer to provide trustworthy software. But you're right, James should sort this out directly with Norton, and hopefully there will be a transparently risk-free version of this program available soon!
May 29 2011 at 10:53am
Vivaldi Julie, I did get that, and I'd have reacted the same way ;)
(In fact, I did, with a different vendor. lol)
It's frustrating, because I really was interested in this software. This is the second time in about 2 weeks that I wanted software that ended up with (different) issues.

To the BDJ team: If James is able to resolve his software issues with Symantec, can this offer be run again?
May 29 2011 at 11:29am
james gozhhu Hello all,
Sorry for my late response. May be the problem is that we start an auto updater to check if there is new version to upgrade. The Norton thought it is a threat.
I will contact Norton about this problem, hope that care about it.
Thank you all!
GozTun.com Vendor - May 29 2011 at 1:03pm
james gozhhu Oh, it is totally a mistake, the virus they thought is FLIP Flash Album Free Version, not Deluxe, so I can not found any virus on it. I need to reinstall the Norton to find more.
