Remember that huge calculator you used to have in school, the one that was so massive that it needed its own case? Everything you ever wanted to do was mapped to a button on that calculator…but today’s discount software promotion condenses that functionality into a spreadsheet called GS-Calc!

GS-Calc is a spreadsheet that lets you track expenses, income, and sales while performing statistical calculations and data analysis with over 300 included formulas. With GS-Calc, you’ll be able to edit huge text files and databases without even leaving the application, thanks to support for 12 million rows and nearly 4,100 columns. That is a lot of data!

Beyond the sheer magnitude of the GS-Calc spreadsheet is the impressive processing power of the program, combined with its agility and flexibility. Even the largest files load and save quickly. But use the program for pivot tables and advanced statistical functions, and GS-Calc uses up to 16 processor cores to boost calculations. You can even use up to 100 synchronized panes to multi-task like never before! And with support for export to PDF and import/export from TXT, dBase, Clipper, Fox Pro, and Excel XML formats, GS-Calc is the only spreadsheet you’ll ever need.

Please note folks: GS-Calc can use natively either the standard Open Document *.ods spreadsheet format or it's own exceptionally fast and compact binary format. Also, GS-Calc can be installed on any portable device and used without performing any registry modifications. The 64-bit setup file is 2.9MB and the 32-bit setup file is 2.6MB. No other libraries or run-times are required.

This promotion includes the following:
GS-Calc - 1 Year Upgrades v16.5 ($19.95)
GS-Calc - Lifetime Upgrades v16.5 ($36)

Gunderic Hagen I was about to buy this app. until I read the FINE PRINT which says it is sold per computer. That means, I can only download it either to my PC or laptop, but NOT both. Sorry, I don't buy any app. with this limitation.

Actually, it's the opposite - you can use/install it on both your pc and laptop at the same time. (Installing it on an USB pen drive is another option.)

Gunderic Hagen What about the Fine print?

- GS-Calc is licensed per computer, and not per user.

Why do you still have this condition if you are not enforcing it???

There is also:
"Each license allows installation on a single computer and a laptop."

The "Fine Print" section here is a set of predefined options to choose from. It's the closest to "per user's pc-laptop two computer set".

Gunderic Hagen OK. What you are saying is that I will be able to use the same licence to download the app. on my PC AND laptop?

What is the deal with downloading it to a USB? I can also use this option, PLUS download it to may PC and my laptop?

Yes, that's correct. "And".

Not "downloading it to a USB" but "installing it on an USB pen drive", so plugging it to your current computer (and unplugging) will allow you to use it without another installation.

(Though, of course, making a backup copy of the setup exe on a pen drive is also a good idea itself.)

To download the full version, you need to log onto the download page using the form at top of citadel5.com. Your C******** login password is included in your order confirmation e-mail.

The recommended setup folder is in the "User/your_name" folder for all programs installed locally in your Windows account. You should not change it to any other system folder (especially if the Windows account you're using doesn't have the write permission for it and the setup can't be completed).

Gunderic Hagen I do not find any form; I continue getting the same screen with the trial versions.... Which other download page you refer to???

Why is this process so complicated? I see also I am not the only one bumping into similar problems. If this is so complicated, I will be forced to request a refund.

As you noted, it's fully explained in one of the older comments (and in the order confirmation message, for that matter). The form consisting of two fields "e-mail" and "password" and the "Login" button is located at the top of each page on citadel5.com.

After you save the full version setup exe and your unique setup code you won't
need to log/re-download it again to install or to reinstall it till there is some new version available.

Robert User CAUTION Potential Purchasers.

There are two options for this purchase. One is at $9.98 (50% off), with 1 year of upgrades. The other is $18, with lifetime of upgrades. After purchasing the Lifetime Upgrades edition, the e-mail sent with the license code states something entirely different. It states:
"You can install/register the software at any time. Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for 12 months. For versions after that, upgrades will require additional payment, which will be discounted by 50%."

That doesn't seem fair to do a bait-and-switch. The e-mail received is very important, and is the proof of a particular purchase at agreed on terms. I would like to see this e-mail re-sent with correct wording, and corrected for future purchasers.

Gunderic Hagen I should have asked this before purchasing, but anyway, here it is:

Can you kindly tell me, how is this app better than Excel? Why should I use your app instead of Excel?

Constantin Florea @Robert User, I am sorry about the confusion. The lifetime upgrades version does have lifetime upgrades. It is true that the license policy from the promotion page is sent for all purchased products in that promotion (and that can be considered a bug) but the license policy in the promotion page is only meant to be valid for the first item in the promotion.

Gunderic Hagen The first link you post does not bring up the info I'm looking. You can read: "We did not find anything that matched your search for "gs galc 2", but check out these new deals!" (are you aware of this?).

Would you kindly cut and paste brief information about the differences between Excel and your app.? I assume you have some bullet points depicting the benefits...

I risk saying that pointing out why is your app better/more convenient to use than Excel would be of great interest to any potential buyer and will surely help your sales efforts.

Daniel User Hi, I just bought and installed GS-Calc because it addresses a need that just came up yesterday.

I needed an app that can display a CSV file that has 900 columns of data. I currently only have a very old copy of Excel that only supports 256 columns.

I got the data in the spreadsheet, but I want to resize each column so all the data is visible. In Excel, I can click on a range of columns and double-click on the divider between two columns and they all resize.

GS-Calc seems to only resize one column at a time. I don't want to repeat this 900 times. Is there anyway to resize all the columns in one action?

Citadel5 @Daniel
You can either (1) click some row heading (to select the whole column range) and use the "Format > Auto Column Width" command or (2) check the "Settings > Options > General > Auto-fit column widths in imported files" option (which applies to text and xBase files).
