Your entire work setup - from the dent in your chair, the tracks in your carpet, and the crumbs and other material in your keyboard, is uniquely yours. So why settle for keyboard configurations that lock you into someone else's notion of what's optimal? Take control of your keyboard and mouse mappings with today's discount software promotion, Key Remapper!

Key Remapper lets you remap keys, mouse buttons, and scroll wheel actions, to create a new and entirely personalized way of using your computer. With Key Remapper, you'll be able to remap to different values, or even to keys and mouse buttons that don't even exist. You can even opt to swap the functions of one key for another, so that the Right Shift key performs like the Enter key, or the middle mouse click is assigned to something more familiar. Add modifiers, like Alt, Shift, and Ctrl, and you've found yourself in the middle of a nearly limitless universe of key mapping.

People who have trouble properly double clicking will love the ability to remap the double click action to something that's more reliable for them. And if your typing style means you're constantly hitting some function or other key by accident, you can just use Key Remapper to disable it completely and never worry about it again.

You'll be amazed at just how much flexibility is offered by Key Remapper! You can have two different key sets that you can switch between with just two clicks. Or, limit your custom key mappings to only specific program applications and windows!

Trying to decide which version of Key Remapper (Home License, Business license) is right for you? Check out the comparison matrix below and make an informed decision:
- One Home license grants you the right to use the software on one computer. You may not use these programs in organizations. If you need to use them on multiple computers, you should purchase the corresponding number of licenses.
- One Business license grants you the right to use the software on one computer. You may use these programs in organizations. If you need to use them on multiple computers, you should purchase the corresponding number of licenses.

This Key Remapper discount promotion includes the following license types:
Key Remapper Home License ($24.95)
Key Remapper Business License ($34.95)

Pascal COPPE Hi,
Is there any promotion for Key Manager ?
Sep 27 2012 at 6:32am
Danny This tool has a multi language interface as Dutch?
Sep 27 2012 at 7:33am
Retired Engineer I have some mouse-finger impairments, and have been working with Key Remapper (trial version) to assign mouse left-button double-click to a single keyboard keystroke. This will let me mouse over an icon which requires a double-click from my mouse hand, and execute this action with a *single* keystroke from my keyboard hand. (Unfortunately, mouse double-clicks are painful for me.) So far, all I've accomplished is locking-out the left mouse button, requiring a bit of keyboard hacking to uninstall/reinstall Key Remapper.

Could you please explain how to set up this mouse-to-key mapping?
Sep 27 2012 at 9:40am
Jan-Christoph Ihrens I'm also very interested in Key Manager. Will there be a promotion on BDJ in the near future?

Additionally, a feature comparison table for Key Manager and Key Remapper would be nice - I couldn't find one on the website.
Sep 27 2012 at 2:13pm
Danny One can still equal both products (Key Remapper + Key Manager) simultaneously in the listing of BDJ. Why hard about do? Other providers did it too!
Sep 27 2012 at 2:29pm
Jan-Christoph Ihrens @Danny Thys: Sorry, could you please reformulate that sentence? I'm afraid I'm unable to understand its meaning...
Sep 27 2012 at 2:56pm
Danny @Jan-Christoph Ihrens,

Key Manager is here to turn a few weeks ago!
Sep 27 2012 at 3:02pm
Jan-Christoph Ihrens Ah, thanks!

Well, how could I miss this one? I'm coming here to look for nice software every (or at least every second) day, but Key Manager obviously slipped my eyes. Too bad... :(

ATNSOFT Q: This tool has a multi language interface as Dutch?

A: Key Remapper currently supports only English, Deutsch, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian.

Q: ... So far, all I've accomplished is locking-out the left mouse button, requiring a bit of keyboard hacking to uninstall/reinstall Key Remapper. Could you please explain how to set up this mouse-to-key mapping?

A: Please make sure that everything has been defined correctly (see screenshot: http://atnsoft.com/images..._click.png)

Q: Is there any promotion for Key Manager?

A: Planned for the future.

Q: Additionally, a feature comparison table for Key Manager and Key Remapper would be nice.

A: Key Remapper is intended only for remapping keyboard keys and mouse buttons. Key Manager, however, also allows you to remap combinations of keys and mouse buttons, long and consecutive presses. It also enables you to perform various actions and represent them as a popup menu.
ATNSOFT - Sep 27 2012 at 11:17pm
Stephane M @ATNSOFT, so if I already have Key Manager, I do not need Key Remapper.
Is that correct?
Thanks.
Sep 28 2012 at 12:11am
ATNSOFT The only advantage of Key Remapper is the ability to remap modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Win) and left mouse button.
ATNSOFT - Sep 28 2012 at 12:29am
Amit I would myself like to have the key manager deal. However in KEY MANAGER (mainly that I am concerned about, NOT KEY MAPPER) -

1) MOST IMPORTANTLY - IN key manager - is there any option of showing confirmations of any action we set either by a system tray notification / or sound alert / onscreendisplay OSD ?

If any of these 3 are not there, can they be included in a near future version - would be really what makes a software too good.

Other 2 not so important are -

2) - does remapping of any key or mouse button require a logoff or reboot or its just instant.

3) Also does key manager has any wizards to make the software easy to use as some other softwares ?
Sep 29 2012 at 2:05am
ATNSOFT 1) We will try to implement this feature in future releases.

2) Does not require.

3) Please try to understand the essence of Key Manager. One of the advantages of Key Manager (and also Key Remapper) - is its simplicity.
ATNSOFT - Sep 29 2012 at 2:37am
Danny Key Remapper tool is also present in Key Manager, is this?
Sep 30 2012 at 1:17am
Amit Ok thanks - to make clear what I meant in 1) - I wanted to suggest was like confirmation on any action PERFORMED - and not alert on the settings change etc or configuring key manager.

For eg. if volume is lowered by any set hotkey or any way by key manager - then If OSD onscreendisaplay or system tray mesage is shown.

And similarly for most of keymanager actions.

Key manager would be really good to use then.
Sep 30 2012 at 1:23am
ATNSOFT Q: Key Remapper tool is also present in Key Manager, is this?

A: No, they are similar.
ATNSOFT - Sep 30 2012 at 1:26am
Danny Sorry, "similar" what should I means?
Sep 30 2012 at 1:33am
ATNSOFT Key Remapper is intended only for remapping keyboard keys and mouse buttons. Key Manager, however, also allows you to remap combinations of keys and mouse buttons, long and consecutive presses. It also enables you to perform various actions and represent them as a popup menu.
ATNSOFT - Sep 30 2012 at 1:38am
Danny Okay, but then I had correctly understood it anyway: that Key Remapper actually also in Key Manager geintregeerd. So what Key Remapper can, it is also possible with Key Manager. Of course, Key Manager a more advanced version with many more features. Yet?
Sep 30 2012 at 1:44am
ATNSOFT Yes, the only advantage of Key Remapper is the ability to remap modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Win) and left mouse button.
ATNSOFT - Sep 30 2012 at 1:49am
Danny So is Key Remapper, surely a possible addition to Key Manager? Seems to me yet again a bit confusing about it!
Sep 30 2012 at 1:57am
ATNSOFT If you already have Key Manager, you don't need to get Key Remapper, as it has practically the entire Key Remapper functionality.
ATNSOFT - Sep 30 2012 at 3:05am
Danny "The only difference is that Key Manager currently does not support remapping of modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Win etc)."

This answer I found at Key Manager tread. Is this yet?
Sep 30 2012 at 3:13am
Carlos Leite hi,

1. as I understood, I can reconfigure a US keyboard to a Russian one, is it correct?

2. does it have templates, like Dvorak mapping?

thanks,
Carlos
Sep 30 2012 at 4:12am
ATNSOFT 1. as I understood, I can reconfigure a US keyboard to a Russian one, is it correct?

No, Key Remapper allows you only to remap (keys and mouse buttons).
Examples:
Mouse X2 Button remap to LCtrl
CapsLock remap to Ctrl + V
Apps remap to Mouse Middle Button
[Only in Skype] RShift remap to Ctrl + Enter
etc.

2. does it have templates, like Dvorak mapping?

No, but there are profiles.
ATNSOFT - Sep 30 2012 at 4:46am
VLM 1. When you say "Key Manager, however, also allows you to remap combinations of keys", do you mean something like

ctrl-shift-q, alt-f, p

in other words, 3 distinct presses in a sequence?

2. Also, I do not really understand this: "The only advantage of Key Remapper is the ability to remap modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Win) and left mouse button." Would you be willing to explain briefly what this means?
Sep 30 2012 at 7:31am
ATNSOFT 1. When you say "Key Manager, however, also allows you to remap combinations of keys", do you mean something like ctrl-shift-q, alt-f, p 3 distinct presses in a sequence?

Please read the second comment: http://www.bitsdujour.com...ey-manager

2. Also, I do not really understand this: "The only advantage of Key Remapper is the ability to remap modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Win) and left mouse button." Would you be willing to explain briefly what this means?

In Key Manager you cannot remap:
Ctrl to Alt (remap modifier to some other key)

but you can remap:
Z to Ctrl;
Ctrl+Alt+Win+Z to Alt+F5
Ctrl+Mouse Left Button to Ctrl + F9
Shift + F5, 3, A, W (using popup menu) to Mouse X2 Button
RAlt, S, W to Launch MS Word
RAlt, S, P to Type Predefined Text
etc.

Helder Muniz As far as differences are a concern, Key Remapper allows disabling individual actions, KM won't (unfortunately).
Plus it offers options to 'set a special trigger' and 'emulate a double press', which as far as I got I could not reproduce in KManager.

Right, ATNsoft?
Thanks for the offer, byt the way. Solid product with a clean interface.
Sep 30 2012 at 10:07am
Helder Muniz For some curious reason, I'd like to be able to remap combo keys (like alt+F4) to something else.
Is that possible, in a future update...?
Sep 30 2012 at 10:08am
Helder Muniz Key Manager allows remapping key combo but the 'key blocking' function does not block modifier keys. Blocking the win key would be everything such a function should deal with!

Anything planned on this field, ATNsoft?
Sep 30 2012 at 10:09am
ATNSOFT Q: 'emulate a double press', which as far as I got I could not reproduce in KManager.

A: You can use the "Key sequence" action. See demo video: http://www.atnsoft.com/ke...oubleclick

Q: For some curious reason, I'd like to be able to remap combo keys (like alt+F4) to something else.

A: Please use Key Manager.

Retired Engineer I have purchased and now use both Key Remapper and Key Manager. Given the amount of customer confusion I've read (which includes myself), I have a suggestion ... Why don't you just combine these two utilities into one? It is hard for me to imagine a customer who needs one of these, to not need the other.
Sep 30 2012 at 11:13am
Richard Andersen Is it possible to remap your keys to Dvorak layout, if you remap the keys physically on your keyboard?

Edit: I can see someone else has asked about a Dvorak template, which there isn't, but is it possible to do it yourself manually?

Edit2: It actually appears that many OS including Windows already have Dvorak support. Microsoft has made a Keyboard Layout Creator with which you can adapt the Windows Dvorak layout to any local keyboard standard. Check out wikipedia for more. Question is if you need an original Dvorak keyboard for this or if you just can remap the physical keys on your own?
Sep 30 2012 at 1:29pm
VLM What Retired Engineer suggests is what I've been thinking throughout this promotion. I'm sure there is some historical explanation as to why there are 2 products, but today, it seems they should be one. Then raise the price to USD 20.

Think of all the questions you'll never, EVER have to answer again!!! What a time saver ... for us all!!!

Just a thought, of course.
Sep 30 2012 at 5:02pm
Retired Engineer VLM:
Ordering both half-price specials from BitsDuJour would be US$22.50, which I is fair for a well-integrated combo utility. Documentation could also be much improved, as I'm still finding undocumented items in both UIs. (For Key Manager, under the "Long press" box, with a "2" in it, appears "tacts"; but I can't find out what "2 tacts" is. Can anyone on this board tell me?

With improvements to both the UI and Help System, I could probably be persuaded to pay US$25.00 for the combo. But, since I now own both, I don't need to. :)
Sep 30 2012 at 5:31pm
VLM Yes, I understand. I can only imagine that it would be MUCH easier to manage one integrated set of functionality than 2 distinct products that are so close in so many respects. And the time spent discussing which product is which might then be constructively invested in ... ON NO!!! ... documentation.

As a user, the very idea of having to learn and work through 2 UIs sounds quite unappealing.

But perhaps I wax philosophical. :)

A: 1 tact = 100 milliseconds

Garrett Goyette I am looking for a utility that allows me to map ADDITONAL keyboards. I want to use my regular keyboard just the way it is, but i would like to add a spare usb0r even ps2 keyboard that i can completely remap with dedicated macros and shortcuts that i will additionally print out separate labels for . Is this possible with any of your software
Oct 1 2012 at 12:46am
ATNSOFT No, it is currently not possible. We will try to implement this feature in future versions.
ATNSOFT - Oct 1 2012 at 1:31am
bvssunnydale Hi, does this work by program, eg allowing me to redefine keymapping for Excel, then a different set for Wordperfect, etc.. And by this I mean does it allow it to do this simply by changing focus to each program? Thx.
Mar 17 at 5:19am
ATNSOFT Yes, you can use "Exceptions".
Please see the following screenshot: http://atnsoft.com/images/exceptions.jpg
ATNSOFT - Mar 17 at 5:42am
garrett james I would love to have multiple keyboards plugged in simultaneously where the second keyboard is remapped so i can use as a macro keyboard but still use the first keyboard completely normally. Can your software allow or facilitate this?
Monday at 5:16pm
ATNSOFT No, Key Remapper does not currently support this feature.
