I tried one video and it totally changed the aspect ratio. All the people in it became tall and thin. I would think the program would consider aspect ratio and help the user pick a size that would keep it or at the very least warn the user that the aspect ratio has changed.

What say you LeKuSoft?

Thank you for your comments.
For the first question, you need to select the proper aspect ration in the setup window. After you have loaded the movie, please click on the Settings button, then select a proper aspect ration in the "Video Size" option.

As for the second question, there is really a small bug in the clip window, which preventing you from seeing the video. We have solved this problem in the latest version. To preserve the self-defined clip, simply close this clip window after you have set the beginning and ending time.

If this program doesn't do what you need, you may wish to take a look at FormatFactory. It is freeware, so it may lack some of the features you are looking for, but that's for you to judge.

Hello Shawna,

My point was that I should not have to select the aspect ratio. The program already knows what it is and I don't off hand. The program advertises itself as a tool for organizing videos to a common format which implies that the user might have a variety of videos and therefore a variety of aspect ratios and other things to deal with. The program should help out rather than requiring more work. At least that is my opinion.

As for the small bug in the clip screen, glad you found and fixed it. There needs to be some obvious way to close and return to the conversion screen. Clicking the red X is not intuitive and does not provide a positive path like a "Close" or "Transfer Clip" button would. A user should not have to guess how to transition from a function.

I think the program has promise and needs some tweaks.

Users don't have to select the aspect ration, for the default is 4:3 for most of the videos. If they like, they can also make customized selections of the aspect ration in the "Settings" window.
