I tried to install it, but it wanted to install tons of other irrelevant programs as well, under heavy internet exchange

I turned off internet and the installation failed.
Is this a software that will continue to create undesired
internet traffic all the time in the background?

Is there an activation that will annoy at each migration to a new PC?
(=Cripple-ware ?? )

Fabrice Meuwissen hi Bxxx, you should know there is always an option to not install the side offers, it is just by turning off the "offer" button during install. you can cancel, it is not forced at the installation.

no the program doesn't need internet connection to work, it is just posting some stats but you can also turn them off.

there is no activation process , it is just a key to turn it to pro version.

Richard Andersen If you ask me, manipulating your images just to free up disk space is a bad idea. Disk space cost almost nothing these days, but your pictures generally always lose some quality which is impossible to get back again later, when they're edited or manipulated . So I'd say: always keep a copy of the originals, that will ensure you'll get the best results if you need to edit or manipulate the pictures at some point later.

Fabrice Meuwissen @Richard, that's not how people are using it, they resize pictures for copies indeed ( that's what we recommand ) to publish, send by email or for web editing.
the software could used also to convert raw to jpeg for people which doesn't have raw pro photographic tools.
and finally as a batch to make all different sources image to the same size.

Well I was refering to this statement:

To me that seems to be a rather clear suggestion for resizing your pictures to free up disk space. People who don't know much about these things may take you on the word without being aware of the consequences. If that's not what you meant, maybe you should reformulate it?

David Hyre I'm interested, but I see at least 3 different files I could download to try it out; v1234 at 1.53MB, and two different sizes of v4.0.9.5 9.05 MB & 9.28 MB on the sidebar, all on the one webpage linked above. Which is the correct version?
