Pergenex Software @DrTeeth - Sorry for the confusion on the licensing. Here's a clarification: Message Assist is licensed per primary Outlook mailbox, so if your primary mailbox is Exchange-based, you can use Message Assist on any number of computers with that mailbox. If your primary mailbox is PST-based, then each license allows activation on 2 computers. I'll try to get that clarified under the Fine Print tab.

Pergenex Software @ddalian - This is a very simple 1-click message file to folder. It basically remembers the folder you file the message to the first time, and never prompts you again after that. There are many other 1-click message filers available if you need some intelligence, including our own Auto-Mate product.

Pim Joosten This seems to be very useful software. I have however a few questions before buying.

1. Do you have the EULA somewhere on your site? I was unable to find it.
2. Is there a version history available? I think it is always good to know how well a program is maintained and what exactly has been done.
3. The fine print says that support is provided for 12 months and also that when there is a new major version I can buy an upgrade at a discounted price. What happens if there has not yet been a new major version but the 12 month period has lapsed? Do I need to buy an upgrade to get support even if there is no actual upgrade?
Maybe the fine print is wrong, because I just found this info on your website: "Includes 1 year of free email support and updates.", which is different from all minor versions.
4. If the upgrade policy is indeed that one gets 1 year free updates (instead of all minor versions): is it possible to upgrade let's say 3 years after having purchased Message Assist or do I need to buy the upgrade directly after the 1 year period is over?
5. How much is the price discounted when buying an upgrade?
6. Just to be sure: you wrote in a previous answer (and now also in the main text of this offer) that Message Assist is licensed per primary mailbox. I am the only user, but have several mailboxes. Currently I have all mailboxes in one pst file, but maybe that will change when I migrate from outlook 2007 to outlook 2010. I also have one desktop and one laptop. Will one license cover this?

Pergenex Software @Sweet Soft - We are not very familiar with Text Lightning, but from a quick check, we do not see how to create rich text templates in WYSIWYG format...could be wrong though. Message Assist will allow to easily create templates from your existing Outlook HTML messages (with images) or even copy and paste rich text from web browser pages or other applications since you are actually building it in a standard Outlook message.

If you answer my questions, I can start testing your software before purchasing (provided the answers suit my needs of course). I would like to have some time to test, because I do not like making purchase decisions under too much time pressure (that is why offers on BDJ are announced a couple of days up front).

2. We normally post a version history link in the downloads page, but this is a recent major release and we plan to post the changes after the first major updates. The online updater clearly identifies the revisions for each update.
3. If there is no major update before the 12 months free support lapses, you can arrange paid extended support with us. We find that this is rarely need after that period since you have learned the product well by that point and minor dot updates are free for the life of that major release. This is not clear on our website and will be updated, thank you.
4. You are never obligated to purchase the next major release. When you purchase version 2.0 for example, you own that version and get all minor releases for free. The 1 year support refers to email support for help with the product.
5. The discounted prices for upgrades is typically 20-35% off list price.
6. The license is based on your primary mailbox. You can transfer your license from one computer to another at any time, or even on the same computer since you can deactivate with one primary mailbox and then activate with another. This should be flexible enough to cover your requirements.

Pim Joosten @Peregenex Software: Thanks for your answers. They were helpful. I have one more question: what exactly is a primary inbox? Your response that I can deactivate the license for one primary mailbox and activate it for another made me doubt my initial understanding. In my case where I have multiple e-mail accounts and one pst file, does everything belong to the primary inbox? Does that change if I migrate to Outlook 2010 where I can have a pst file per mail account?

David I use multiple email accounts, each of which has its own .pst. Are you saying that as a single user I would have to buy multiple licenses? Anyone who just keeps their personal and work email separate on Outlook would need to buy two licenses? That doesn't strike me as very user friendly.

Same issue as others above. I am the only user of the only computer (laptop) I use. But I use within Outlook two inboxes and may need to expand that to three or more (amongst others because using different email addresses to interact with different people/organisations). If that were the case, are you saying I should buy more than one license - even though I am the only user of the one laptop I use? Hope not...

Bob Horton I actually manage 6 different email addresses, each with a separate .pst file, but all under one Outlook profile. I do this on 3 machines (home and work desktops plus a laptop). How many licenses would I need? If only one, I'm a buyer!

Pergenex Software @Pim Joosten: What is meant by primary mailbox is the default mail account. In Outlook, under Account Settings, there is one account tagged as your Default (with the blue check). Hope this helps.

Pergenex Software @Bruno: There is no problem with a single license with your scenario. One of those mail accounts will be a primary account, and you can have an unlimited amount of other Outlook accounts.

Craig S. Hello, I have two questions:

1) I am interested in trying your software, but I'd like to try it first. I'm aware there's a free trial, but there's really not sufficient time to take it for a test spin. Is the no-return policy really hard and fast? Or is it possible that we could trial the software and receive the discount later, perhaps within a week or so? Thanks for your consideration.

2) When was this version 2.0 released? (I'm basically wondering how long we would have free updates before we're confronted with a major revision upgrade cost to version 3.0).

John Van Hulst First of all your paypal link did not work.
There was no option what so ever to use paypal as per your advice earlier in this post. So I purchased using my credit card. (Thankfully as they can refund quite easily)

Secondly. I have downloaded and installed and it does not work. I receive errors and constant request to activate (Which I have done twice and still asks to activate) I have submitted a support ticket. You have not responded (Over 8 hours ago)
When I visit your website, knowledge base shows " Currently we do not have any articles in this category." ??????? What a waste of time.

I am very disappointed with the lack of support.
I am formally asking for a refund.
If I do not hear from you within the next 4 hours I will contact my bank and instruct a reversal.

These are serious problems within your business / product and need to be addressed.
