Danny A problem: I can not download a trial version (for Windows)!!
Jan 7 at 1:50pm
Constantin Florea The direct download URL for the Windows version is:
http://www.qoppa.com/pdfs..._3_win.exe
BitsDuJour Admin - Jan 7 at 2:12pm
Danny Unfortunately, no success. Have different ways try to download, doesn't work. Come no further than 4% and then gives it every time ' time out '. Will my pc system lie?!
Jan 7 at 2:40pm
Leila H. @ winton guy: Regarding Upgrades: PDF Studio 8 was just released in December 2012. When you purchase PDF Studio 8, you get free upgrades to all versions 8.xx (current version is 8.03). PDF Studio can check for uptaded versions automatically on a set schedule: daily, weekly, monthly. When version 9 comes out, you can decide to upgrade at about 40% of listing price. The upgrade is optional and you can continue using version 8.

Leila H. @ Danny Thys: I just tried downloading and installing the Windows installer for PDF Studio from the link above and had no problem. So there is no problem with the installer itself. Your PC is not lying but could it be that your internet connection is intermittent? The installer is 50Mb and will require a stable connection to download.

Leila H. @winton guy: Sorry, we don't have a comparison matrix between bluebeam review and PDF Studio.

But we do have a comparison matrix to compare with Adobe Acrobat:
http://www.qoppa.com/pdfs...robat.html

PDF Studio does have measurement tools (distance, area and perimeter). Bluebeam Revu is specialized for architects and engineers and for instance offers a library of gemometrical symbols that PDF Studio does not have. In PDF Studio, users can create and save their own custom stamps and preferred annotations, thus creating their own library.

PDF Studio is cheaper than Bluebeam Revu and works on all operating systems: Mac OSX, Windows, Linux and Unix.

Brian H Hi- I looked for some independent reviews of this product, and all were very favorable. :-) One feature a particular reviewer said the program lacked was the ability to "create" PDFs- and the reviewer was quite critical of this missing feature- but he otherwise loved everything else about the program. I was wondering if PDF creation had perhaps been added since the review was written; and with this new version 8.x release. If Leila, or another company rep, would kindly reply when they have a moment, I would be interested to know abut this. Thanks. -Brian

Leila H. @Brian H: Regarding creating PDFs using PDF Studio, please read this entry in our Knowledge Base:

Danny A peculiar observation: other software + 50 MB size no problems with the download. With this PDF Studio 8 just don't succeed. It breaks every time off 4% indicating "time out" and "unable to read file '. Possible explanation??
Jan 8 at 8:18am
Leila H. @Dannys Thys. Strange. Maybe the download file got corrupted once (because of a connection problem) and now your browser is caching the corrupted file? Just a thought.

Try this other link which points to the same Windows installer and see if it works for you:

http://www.qoppa.com/pdfs...ll_win.exe

Danny Unfortunately, I can't in any way! But well, I give up!

Question: Has this PDF Studio 8 a multilanguages interface possibilities?
Jan 9 at 12:54am
Andrew Walters Regarding stamps, can I use my database of png images as stamps? (they're not really "stamps" as in "PAID" etc., but rather images which I use all the time, such as coloured arrows, icons, etc. etc. I use hundreds.
Is there an "import images as stamps" feature?
How does the program handle transparency with stamps?
Jan 9 at 1:23am
Leila H. @Andrew W: PDF Studio does allow users to create image rubber stamps. Rubber stamps can be classified in categories and are accessible under the rubber stamps menu from the top toolbar. PDF Studio also has a "tool chest" that allows users to save their favorite used annotations (including stamps) and makes it easy to preview and add them to a page. PDF Studio does not offer a way to import a library of images as stamps at once, it has to be done one image at a time at the moment. Regarding stamp transparency, it is supported (images in png and gif format).
Qoppa Software Vendor - Jan 9 at 5:45am
Danny Now comes the interesting: All other downloads for other platforms like Linux and Mac OSX can I download without problems. Except PDF Studio for Windows will simply not succeed! Understand who understand can?!
Jan 9 at 6:26am
Sascha Tuberkel Just a hint: today I could download Adobe Acrobat Pro Cs2 for free from Adobe Download-site, because they are canceling support. So if it works for you in the outdated version, just give it a try. The license-key is standing on the right of the download-link.
By the way there are all discontinued versions of Photoshop, creativestudio,...available as full version for free =)

VLM I tend to work with MANY PDF documents open at once. Will PDF Studio 8 keep track of them all when the program

a. shuts down normally
b. crashes, or the system crashes, or whatever

How many documents are remembered? Are they organized in any way as Acrobat does, say today, 7 days, 30 days, etc. or some other way?

Will the program remember a document that has been downloaded adn opened, but has not yet been saved (File Save As) when the program is closed or crashes?

Finally, is it possible to pay be sending cash, money order, using PayNearMe, or some other way that does not use the electronic central banking system?

Thanks!

Nico Westerdale Great News! Qoppa Software has agreed to extend this deal for another day - Enjoy!
BitsDuJour Admin - Jan 10 at 12:11am
Phil Tobin @ Sascha Tuberkel: Er, you and anyone else would be on a hiding to nothing if you thought Adobe's Creative Suite 2 was now free of charge. It isn't and it never was. Adobe has simply shut down the product activation servers for this 7-year-old suite but has posted the appropriate serial numbers on its download site for the benefit of any existing users wishing to re-install a *licensed* copy. The serial number won't work without the license code.

This hare was started running by some blogger who completely misread / misunderstood what Adobe was doing for existing customers. As is the way of the Internet, the blog's misinformation was then peddled by a number of other bloggers and websites who evidently couldn't be bothered to make even a cursory check on the veracity of the source.

Gonzo @Dannys Thys
Based on your last comment, I would suggest you try the following:
-If you tried with only 1 browser, try with another one. Also, clear your browser's cache and cookies.
-If you tried with several browsers already, then there's something "blocking" the download of the Windows version. Being an exe file, I'd say most likley your Antivirus, Firewall, or Anti malware is the culprit.
Disable any security software you have, then try to download again.

Harlen Wiebe In Adobe Standard or Pro when you open the pages thumbnail view, you can drag and drop one or more pages into the page thunbnail view of another open PDF file. Does PDF Studio have a similar function. I checked your comparison page http://www.qoppa.com/pdfs...robat.html as noted in an earlier post and this feature wasn't even listed there as an Adobe only feature.
Jan 10 at 5:11am
Leila H. @Harlen W: Yes, PDF Studio does support this function of dragging and dropping pages from the thumbnail view. This is an easy way to manipulate and move pages across documents. Remember that the download is a free evaluation version and you can try all the features before making a decision.
Qoppa Software Vendor - Jan 10 at 6:29am
Leila H. @VLM PDF Studio will display the last 10 documents opened under File - Open Recent. We are not keeping a history organized by date at the moment but have plans to do so.

Upon closing a document which was modified in PDF Studio, it will prompt you to save the document.

We keep a copy of the file before saving a document in case any problem happens during save. We don't save as we go so there is no mechanism in case of crash to restore the changes you had made.

Also, if working with a lot of documents at a time, look into our knowledge base to allocate more memory to the app.

Our standard methods of payment for single license sale are credit card, paypal and google wallet. However, if you do not like online payment, we will be glad to process your money order.
Qoppa Software Vendor - Jan 10 at 7:17am
Danny Has this PDF Studio 8 also all possible convert function to other files like Word, Image, HTML and so on?
Jan 10 at 12:54pm
Leila H. @Danny Thys: PDF Studio can convert from Word and images to PDF but not HTML.

You can read our KB entry regarding creating PDF from other formats: http://kbpdfstudio.qoppa..../createpdf
Qoppa Software Vendor - Jan 10 at 2:10pm
VLM Leila H. - Thank you for your kind response. I imagine you have access to my private email, if you would be kind enough to send me information on where to send the money order, I will take care of it. I will take the future expanded list of recent documents/history on faith. :):) Really, as long as there is enough RAM there should be no limit on the number of docs open, and as long as their is disk space there should be no limit on the number of files remembered, IMO. Perhaps there should be a warning to tip of a user that some adjustment to memory allocation (or the like) needs to be made), but really, it's not necessary for the software vendor to protect users who can reasonably be expected to take responsibility for their own acts. Again, IMO. :):)

Thanks!!!

Oh, can Studio 8 convert PDF to any graphic formats ... PNG or the like?
Jan 10 at 4:26pm
Leila H. @VLM: I will contact you by email to send you information regarding payment. We will work on making the memory allocation more visible to users but so far it has not been an issue for most users.

PDF Studio can convert PDF to the following graphics formats:JPEG, PNG, Tiff, Gif.
Qoppa Software Vendor - Jan 11 at 6:39am
Leila H. @VLM: To create a PDF from a browser page, you will need to download a PDF printer driver (there are many free good ones out there) and print the page to it (the PDF driver will show under your printer list in the print dialog).

Yes, PDF Studio can add free hand text and graphics annotations.
Qoppa Software Vendor - Jan 11 at 6:39am
VLM Leila H. - Thank you for your kind responses.

1. I have not received a communication from you yet. Perhaps because it's the weekend, so just checking in . :)

2. Regarding free PDF printer drivers, yes there are many. I've recently been using Primo PDF from Nitro (your competitor :). Do you (anyone) have a PDF printer driver you are particularly happy with? I'm not unhappy with Primo, except that it seems a bit slow at times.
Jan 13 at 7:00am
R A I've used PDF Studio since version 6 and have been consistently impressed with its performance. Its fast and responsible and allows me to open PDFs in English, Chinese and Japanese, and it runs on my Windows and Linux computers.

The most important feature for me is the ability to annotate PDFs by highlighting text and add comments. I also like the fact that the user can switch between several computers running Linux, Apple OS, and Windows, and can continue to use PDF Studio with the same license. Nice!
