Software Guy Icon Empire also has some very clean and professional icon sets. You can purchase 1 single icon ($5 as i recall), or sets, (99$) up to the ($399) option which includes all sets. Perhaps Icon Empire would consider offering their icons at discount also. While designing your own custom sets of icons is very rewarding, some of us are time constrained and prefer to buy/use available icons.

Amit Does your another product Icon craft have more effects as an icon creator / converter than perfect icons. I am not talking about other features of icon craft like extracting etc., just the creation / converter effects and features.

And also is it a software for changing icons too - like changing icons of any file type (extension) in windows 7. Or its just a converter / creator.

Brian Harley I tried to buy this for my business but my 12-year-old VAT number is rejected by the system. To make matters worse, the verification service isn't working.

What is the point of using a verification system that doesn't work.

Although it is a relatively small amount of money, I don not belieive I should be paying a tax to a foreign country when I do not have to pay it in my own country where the tax actually originates.

BUSINESS USERS ARE EXEMPT FROM VAT AND ENTERING A VALID UK VAT NUMBER SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO REMOVE THE TAX FROM YOUR CHARGES.

Kenneth Bates I had a lot of difficulty in editing existing icons with this program. True, you can apply overall effects but cannot change the colours of individual pixels. There is a selection tool but no brushes so, if you need to change the colour of (say) a red part of the icon to blue, you cannot do that unless you change all of the red(dish) pixels.

Kenneth Bates Aha-soft have quite a selection of icon editing software, all with different bells and whistles. I have decided to go with one of their other products which range in price between $29.95 up to $49.95. It's just a question of which one suits my needs closest.
Laura, as admitted above by Dimitry, PerfectIcon is not designed to do fine drawing or design modifications on existing icons. However, there are a number of tools which allow you to make "style" changes, such as changing all the instances of one colour for a different colour, making a colour icon black and white, etcetera.

Kenneth Bates If you follow the link provided by Dimitry to myself, above, you will find that IconLover by Aha-Soft will produce icons up to 256x256 pixels. I don't think Windows can handle anything this big though - you will need Apple OS X. I hope this helps you J. Bell.

Thanks for the info. I did try IconLover earlier. For an editor, I prefer IcoFX. You may want to check it out. I think version 1.6.4 was the last free version of it, now it's payware. The free version can still be downloaded. If you haven't tried it, you may want to give it a try. I'm pretty sure you'll like it.
