Power To-Do List

Much More Than Just To-Do!

Power To-Do List is much more than another simple to-do list. Rather, it was designed from the ground up to help you get more done in less time.

Power To-Do List gives you superior flexibility in the fundamental ways you view and work with your projects and tasks.

With "snoozable" reminders, nine different task fields, a preview pane, a comprehensive search function, and eleven different configurable reports, Power To-Do List includes everything you'd expect in a professional to-do list application and then some!

Power To-Do List offers eight different ways to view your task list. Each view can be further tuned by hiding, resizing, reordering, and sorting by an unlimited number of columns.

Do you need to enter information into your tasks but don't see an applicable field? Two of Power To-Do List's task fields ("context" and "assignee") are user definable.

Feeling a little overwhelmed by the incredible amount of "stuff" you need to do? With Power To-Do List in your corner, you'll be more focused, more relaxed, and more productive than ever before.

Mary Wilson Decided to try this program out and see how it compares to the my currerent To List program(Tudumo). Your's has some features that are not in the version I am currently using that I esespecially like. The ability to use military time, Brain dump, and the variety of views and ways to print out is great. I also found that the program is also very easy to use. When looking threw the help function, I found no answers to a question I had on completed tasks. What happens to the items after you check complete? Do they stay in the data base forever or do they purge themselves after a set amount of time? If not, how can I purge the completed tasks manualy say at the end of the month? If I left all of the completed ones in there, it would eventually make the database to big to handle or if I said print everything, I would have several pages of print offs and would have problems finding the current To Do's.

Rick Gamby Hey Mary, pass on this one, it's just TOO basic yet. I went (and lost lots of money) thru gazzillion of them and for 7 months now my best purchase ever has been the MyLifeOrganized and I'm really happy with it. It's a greatly flexible animal - you can start basic and keep discovering new features forever. Has also a great help. Just my 2 cents.

Bret Reece Hi Mary,

Thanks for your post and thanks for the kudow. I appreciate them.

Power To-Do List keeps completed tasks, but only shows them if you tell it to show Completed Tasks or All Tasks (the default is Incomplete Tasks).

To purge completed tasks manually, just go to the All Tasks view (toward the bottom left), then select "Completed Tasks" from the dropdown box on the toolbar. Then you can delete them.

For now, you can only delete them one by one, but we're planning on adding functionality to delete multiple tasks at once in the next version.

Thanks again for your post and let me know if you have any other questions.

Bret Reece Hi Rick,

You're right in that there are literally hundreds of task management options available.

I think it comes down to finding the one that fits you the best. I too looked at a "gazzillion" options a while back, then after not finding one that fit me, I wrote Power To-Do List.

Simplicity without sacrificing power was our goal and I think we hit the nail on the head with the program.

Version 2 will include sub projects, recurring tasks, and several other features that our customers have requested. Current customers will also receive a substantial discount on version 2 when it comes out.

Good luck with MLO. I hear it's a good program. It's just not a fit for everyone.

Keith Anderson Hi,

Any idea when version 2 will be release and how much the upgrade cost will be?

Thanks
Feb 2 2010 at 6:22am
Bret Reece Hi Keith,

Right now, we're transitioning to a newer program language Visual Basic.NET than we used for the original Power To-Do List (VB6). During this transition, we're working on resurrecting one of our older programs (Bill Buddy). After that, our plan is to start work on Power To-Do List 2. I can't give a timeline, but I'm hoping that PTDL 2 will be released by the end of this year.

This is a guess, but I'm thinking that PTDL 2 will cost $34.95, but with version one users' discount of 50%, that price will be $17.47 (US).

Thanks,

Bret Reece

Neil R. I've sent two emails now asking if the licensing permits installation on more than one personal computer. I need a program that I can install on both my desktop workstation as well as my laptop. I have received no response whatsoever. I will be taking a pass on this software as a result.
Feb 3 2010 at 2:29am
Bret Reece Neil,

I'm sorry to hear that and I'm sorry that we haven't responded yet. Feel free to e-mail me directly at bret@fiveoclocksoftware.com and I'll respond ASAP.

As to the question, a license for Power To-Do List allows you to install the software on two computers. I do that myself. I keep my data file on my thumb drive (attached to my key ring) and point PTDL to that, so It's always "synched" for me.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'll be glad to help in any way I can.

Thanks,

Bret Reece

Gayle Washburn Why didn't I get the "deal" price when I went to purchase. Time zone? I'm in California and it is 9:14 pm. 24 hours haven't been available to me...
Feb 3 2010 at 4:15pm
Nico Westerdale Hi Gayle, our deals are set to EST, so 9:00pm would technically be the cutoff. Unfortunately we haven't yet found a manageable way to adjust for time zones. It's somewhat of a logistical nightmare.

Best!
