Safeguard Data with On-The-Fly Encryption

Just because you password-protect access to your computer doesn't make you invulnerable to security threats. Just like you, your data is constantly on the move, and sooner or later you're going to leave a USB drive or external device plugged into a computer, or otherwise just have it stolen from you outright. To achieve true data protection, you need to make sure that your safeguards kick in at the file and folder level. That's exactly the benefit that today's discount software promotion, Privacy Drive, offers!

Privacy Drive lets you secure all of your files and folders from unauthorized access, thanks to virtual disk and on-the-fly disk encryption technology. With Privacy Drive, you can create multiple encrypted volumes that work just like virtual drives, letting you work with them just like any other hard drive. The difference? Your Privacy Drive volumes are stored in encrypted form, and only encrypted and decrypted as you work with the files. So intead of subjecting you to a tedious lock/unlock regiment that you'll eventually tire of doing, Privacy Drive makes data security a seamless, invisible process.

Once you eject a Privacy Drive virtual disk, all of your files and documents are protected, and absolutely no one can read its contents without the correct password! Best of all, encrypted Privacy Drive volumes can be moved, copied, and transported on USB drives, memory sticks, optical media, and more, all without sacrificing that superior level of security. With support for AES 128-bit and 256-bit industry standard encryption algorithms, there's no reason not to protect your critically important data with Privacy Drive today!

Folks, Privacy Drive is currently on sale for $39.95 (down from $59.95) on the CybertronSoft website. However, they've agreed to knock another $10 off the price tag just for you!

Sandro Perotti This is really annoying, to say the least. According to the website, the price of this software is $39.95 for a Lifetime License. (2013-01-25 8:22:28 AM FKST)
So, do they come here, raise the price to $59.95 and give a 50% discount? If this is so, and I don't see how it can NOT be, I feel insulted and demand a correction or a credible explanation.

K Anderson I think Sandro has a point. I did a google search and looked at all the press releases and they all mention $39.95. Some of them also had a discount code for 30% off from Aug 1 till Dec 31. That would make it even less than here.

Even their press release on Sept 6 states:
"The price for a lifetime Privacy Drive license is $39.95. This includes immediate key delivery, free technical support and free updates for life."
Wait...... when was the last offering here??????

Am I missing something????

Roger Thomasson Folks, i'm really not sure why there is all this confusion. We explain the situation very clearly in bold italics right there in the promo copy.

We recommend reading the words we write. After all, we write 'em for you ;)

Sandro Perotti The only thing I can say is that I have come to this page three times and now is the first time that I read that. Must have missed it.

Cybertron Software Sorry for the confusion. At first, we had two licenses: "Privacy Drive - 3 Years License $39.95" and "Privacy Drive - Lifetime License $59.95". Please read the Older Comments back on 09/09/2012, the first promotion with BitsDuJour.

The "Privacy Drive - 3 Years License" has not been available any more. "Privacy Drive - Lifetime License" is currently on sale for $39.95 on our website, we plan to add more features and may adjust the sales price in the future version. Thank you.
Leo Tsang Do you need administrator rights to install Privacy Drive ??? Can you run it from a flash drive ???
Thanks
Jan 26 at 4:32am
Cybertron Software @ Leo Tsang

The encryption engine of Privacy Drive works on system kernel level, so you need administrator rights to install Privacy Drive.

At present, Privacy Drive does not support portable mode, you cannot run it from a flash drive. We do have plan to add this feature in the future version.
Danny Can Privacy Drive also protect certain folder(s) or file(s) or is it the intention of this software selected to protect an entire hard disk from unauthorized access and steal?
Jan 26 at 2:37pm
Cybertron Software @ Danny Thys

To protect your important files & folders, you need to put them into the virtual disk of Privacy Drive, When you finished your work, simply dismount the virtual disk and all your files & folders will be instantly protected. Privacy Drive does not support protecting external files & folders.

At present, Privacy Drive does not support entire disk encryption. We'll consider to add this feature in the future version, thank you.

Danny There are even more in the future multilanguages interface than English only?
Jan 26 at 10:37pm
Cybertron Software @ Danny Thys

Yes, we do have multi-language options support.
John H I like this product. Much easier to use than TrueCrypt.

The license terms are now very user friendly with single user and installation on all owned computers with no hardware footprint hassle.

P C How does it compare to TrueCrypt (which is a free product) ?
Jan 27 at 2:09am
Cybertron Software @P C

Simple, user-friendly interface and easy-to-use.
Michael S. The software was released July 08, 2012

They have been working on the "Privacy Eraser" since March 16, 2002, so that is 10 years on a single program !!!
http://www.privacyeraser....tsnew.html

It looks like a one person firm that can´t keep track of the price for the program... just saying...

Another thing is that they claim that there is not any backdoor in the "Privacy Drive" program...
http://www.cybertronsoft....acy-drive/

ALL software... I repeat ALL software have a "backdoor" in some kind of way... else would there not be any work for hackers !!!
Or software developers... ;P

Danny I am interested between these two software if Kruptos Professional 2 and Privacy Drive. What are the major differences between these two? Someone experience? Like notes, would be very nice! Thank you!
Jan 27 at 10:18am
John H Kruptos does not work on the fly. It is made for encrypting single files and folders. You either have to wait for the folder to decrypt or decrypt each individual file.

It can take a long time for Kruptos to decrypt all the files in a directory before you can use it. So it is limited to small single use encryption jobs.

Privacy Drive works like True Crypt except with a user friendly interface. The encrypted volume is unlocked, not decrypted before use. Once unlocked, the files are automatically decrypted as they are used.

Each program is intended for different uses. I use both.

VLM Privacy Drive appears to work like TrueCrypt only in part. I do not see support for full volume encryption. I do not see strong support for plausible deniability (hidden volume within a volume). I do not see support for OS encryption, much less for hidden OS encryption.

And yes ... Privacy Drive offers a much nicer UI, and presumably genuine support.

But I think the challenging UI of TrueCrypt reflects (1) that it was first developed long ago), (2) that it is free, so the developer(s) don't wish to update the UI, and (3) PERHAPS the broad coverage the program provides. In other words, it may be "more secure" because of all the extra hoops. Or not, I'm not qualified to assess this.
