They receive a jumbled email which is the encrypted text.

How do they decrypt it without using R10Cipher?

ANSWER:

The recipient needs to use a copy of R10Cipher in 'Decrypt Only' mode, which is free.

Or, they can use website which is also free.

My goal would be to lock up a few mostly small files with sensitive data either at work, or on a laptop. (well one is 50 megatbytes) Yet I want to be able to get into them quickly, without much hassle for normal use.

Do I want R10, Cute, both or neither ? I am going under the sense that one advantage of your program is ease of use, compared to the Open Source alternatives. If in fact ease of use is a feature (the impression I get from the comments) that is easily worth the Bits price. (Granted I do not know the field well but this is meant for simplicity on my end.)

How does this work in practice ? Is there a response time hit or is the encyrption only applied when the program is closed ?

Apologies if my questions are a bit basic, I have never bothered with encryption even in test or trial, but I know if I were travelling and my laptop were lost I would be upset.

Secondarily I might want to send some project info in encrypted form to a friend, so that I presume is R10 ? Where they have Mr. Decryptor (or the trial version acting as a read-only decryptor, according to your website ?) installed ? Don't they need a special code from me, as well ? Is that transmitted to them in plain text usually, but at some other time and place ? Perhaps u can describe the general philosophy, or point me to the web-page issue.

You do not have an email forum (Yahoogroups or Googlegroups) or a webforum ? It is always a major suggestion.
