Automate Series of Tasks on Your PC

Have you ever driven to work and then completely forgotten about it? It's like your brain is on automatic pilot! The same kind of muscle memory applies to your interactions with your computer - where you find yourself launching the same applications, loading the same files, and doing much of the same procedures over and over. Thanks to today's discount software promotion, RoboTask, you can now easily remove yourself from this tedious cycle and have these tasks performed for you!

RoboTask lets you automate any series of tasks on your computer, from launching applications to checking email, backing up, uploading, downloading, and more. With RoboTask, you work with simple combinations of IF/ELSE statements, loops, variables, and other options to create multi-step processes to accomplish exactly what you set out to do. It's way quicker than creating a batch file, and much simpler than writing scripts. Plus, the visual interface is a joy to use!

It doesn't matter if your weapon of choice is the Internet, optical media, FTP processes, file management, or email - RoboTask is fully capable of handling your workflow! You can even customize RoboTask to execute tasks on certain conditions, such as when your Internet connection drops, new email arrives, or a file gets moved. In fact, you can even tie specific events to trigger a safe shutdown of Windows and a power-down of your PC!

Please note folks, today RoboTask is available as either a personal or business license. The primary differences are that personal licenses are restricted to personal (non-commercial) use, and that client server functionality is locked in the personal license.

Today's RoboTask discount promotion includes the following license types:
RoboTask (personal license) ($83.96)
RoboTask (business license) ($125.96)

Andreas Hoffmann Hi,
looks interesting, but is there a kind of compiler that generates an exe from a task?
Thanks in advance - Andreas
Mar 21 at 6:04am
Ben Dake Same Question as Andreas, this would be a great tool If I could create a simple task and then be able to deploy to a few workstations via a self contained EXE.
Mar 21 at 8:53am
Oleg Yershov RoboTask don't make standalone EXE from the task. If you want to start the prepared task then RoboTask should be already installed on computer.
Neowise Vendor - Mar 21 at 10:31am
Stephen Sieloff does the user have to be logged on in order for scheduled tasks to run at their appointed times? I am looking for sn alternative to Win Scheduler that will execute an existing BAT file at 2 PM every day regardless of whether the user/creator of the batch file is logged on or not to the machine ...
Mar 22 at 9:23am
Oleg Yershov does the user have to be logged on in order for scheduled tasks...
You can install RoboTask as system service. In this case RoboTask will be started when computer is being booted and it doesn't require user log in.
RoboTask Service Manager (included into installation package) will help you to install RoboTask-service and make initial settings.

Watcher1924 I want to use the basic plug-in but on your site I don't see the plug-in for RoboTask 5.3. Could you provide me a link?
Mar 22 at 6:52pm
Oleg Yershov You can download latest version of Basic plugin on downnloads page:
http://www.robotask.com/downloads/
direct link:
http://www.robotask.com/d...boTask.exe

If you need exactly version 5.3 you can find all necessary files here:
http://www.robotask.com/d...ns/v5.3.1/

Watcher1924 Is there any chance that by installing the plugin I will mess something up and will need to reinstall the whole program?
In general, how compatible are newer plugins with older versions of the program? Is there a reason for not having a basic plugin for 5.3 at the download area? Does the specific build matter?
Mar 23 at 7:40am
Oleg Yershov What version do you use?
The latest stable version is 5.4. But Basic plugin v 5.4 is compatible with version 5.3. And contrariwise: Basic plugin 5.3 is compatible with RoboTask 5.4. In fact Basic plugin is the same.

Version 5.3 of RoboTask now is one of previous versions.
If you need version 5.3 exactly you can find it here:
http://www.robotask.com/d...ns/v5.3.1/
Neowise Vendor - Mar 23 at 8:59am
Watcher1924 I'm asking about the latest version of the plugin because the latest is usually the optimal choice (and since there wasn't any file for basic on the 5.3 download page...).
I have RoboTask 4.4 and 5.3(5.3.0.722). The files for basic of 4.4 and 4.2 do seem the same but the ones of 5.3 and 5.4 have different names, different sizes and different contents. If something goes wrong during the installation of the plugin I will have to reinstall the program?
Mar 23 at 3:13pm
Oleg Yershov It's enough to reinstall only Basic Plugin.
But if you want install previous version of plugin you should remove a couple files manually.
Stop RoboTask and remove files:
BasicLdr.exe
Plugins\Basic\Basic.rtp
Next, install necessary version of Basic plugin.

Of course you may reinstall RoboTask completely. You know where you can get previous versions
Neowise Vendor - Mar 24 at 4:40am
Watcher1924 Right now there isn't any BasicLdr.exe or Basic.rtp anywhere in the program's folder (maybe because I have never istalled the basic plugin?).
I don't think my reg codes work with the program's installers from the download page.
But what I have been asking is what the right plugin versions are for my program versions. When we look at the about window should we take note of all the decimal numbers or only up to the first one? You say that the plugins for versions 5.3 and 5.4 are the same but they have different names, different sizes and different contents. I need to know I'm installing the right plugin because RoboTask is complicated; it's not the usual program for which you have to pay attention only to the settings. If a task has some erroneous or unpredictable behavior it's most of the times the user's fault but he needs to exclude the chance of a program's malfunction. There isn't much point in starting a troubleshooting for the task if he is not sure that the program uses the right modules.

Oleg Yershov "I don't think my reg codes work with the program's installers from the download page."
Do you use GiveawayOfTheDay version?
Neowise Vendor - Mar 24 at 9:01am
Watcher1924 Yes. That's another reason for me to be careful and install the right thing.
Mar 24 at 9:19am
Oleg Yershov "Giveaway of the day" action is an one-day action with the important restrictions:
"Please note that the software you download and install during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
1) No free technical support;
2) No free upgrades to future versions;
3) Strictly personal usage."

You can read this on GOTD site too.

About Basic:
You can get "Basic plugin" version 4.4 here:
http://www.robotask.com/d...ons/v.4.4/
"Basic plugin" version 5.3
http://www.robotask.com/d...ns/v5.3.1/

I wrote this earlier.
As opposed to GOTD BitsDuJour allows you to get full unrestricted license with support and free updates. Also BitsDuJour gives sizable discount.
Neowise Vendor - Mar 24 at 10:03am
Watcher1924 I didn't ask for "free upgrades"; I mentioned the fact I cannot reinstall the program because you mentioned reinstallation as an option if something goes wrong.

It seems that your only concern is (or became after a cerntain point of our "discussion")whether it's about a giveaway version. If it was so important you should ask since the beginning. When you asked about the version I use I answered with precision.

If there are more restriction than the usual ones (No free technical support, No free upgrades to future versions, Strictly personal usage)the publisher has to mention it through the programs description during the promo day, otherwise how are the users supposed to know?! But I believe this is not a case of restrictions because I don't think we are not allowed to use the basic plugin. I didn't ask for "technical support", I only made a very simple question which could be answered with only one sentence. I'm stopping the asking of this question on this page (and save it for the forums)and let's hope next time here we'll all have a better cooperation, because now you don't seem willing to answer clearly about the basic plugin compatibility since I'm telling you these attributes of the files are different and you refuse to comment about it. No matter how he has purchased the program, every user is entitled to make a question like this and( if you are not willing to answer it that's fine, depending on what it is about) because giveaway users are not puppets to install and mess up their systems blindfolded - there suppose to be a two-way benefit. And certainly they are intitled of not being dragged to conversations that consist a vicious circle; not getting an answer at all sometimes is better.

I quot you: "I wrote this earlier."
I'm not good with words so I really can't explain the situation without repeating my self: You wrote this earlier but you also wrote that the basic plugins for versions 5.3 and 5.4 are the same and I wrote that their files are not and you didn't accept commenting on this. You get to sell something here and we get to ask if we can really use it. How can I purchase a program if I can't find out which plugins are appropriate for each version -we'll have to make a research everytime?! In the download area there is ***objectively*** a confusion (I don't know if the situation or some files have changed now but until the time you send me there, that was the case). Anyway...
Mar 24 at 4:15pm
Oleg Yershov I wrote where you can find exact versions of Basic plugin.
There are no any special versions for GOTD.
GOTD users downloaded exactly these versions of Basic Plugin.
Neowise Vendor - Mar 24 at 11:56pm
Watcher1924 I would like to make clear (again!) that I wasn't asking if there are any "special versions for GOTD"-plugins; I was trying to find out the appropriate one for version 5.3 and to understand the logic behind the allocation and compatibility of the files in the download area so - when I need to - I can download the right ones for any current or future versions without having to ask every time. Any reasonable user would be a little careful about what to do if he saw the desired plugin available for the previous and next program versions but not for his current one and he would be confused if he was told that two files that have different ***contents*** are the same.
