RollBack Rx Professional is a powerful utility that enables home users and IT professionals alike to easily restore their PC to exactly how it was at a specific time before a system crash or other catastrophe.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?

RollBack Rx Professional is different from most other backup software. Rather than periodically (and time-intensively) saving and re-saving all of your data, RollBack Rx Professional takes continuous backup "snapshots" of your entire system. It happens silently in the background, uses minimal system resources, and requires only 2 to 3 seconds to complete a snapshot!

Then, if something BAD happens -- like a system crash, aborted or failed software installation, malware invasion, or funky update procedure -- all you need to do is RollBack Rx Professional to the snapshot right before the crash. It's that easy!

You can take said snapshots at a specific time or on a fixed schedule (hourly, daily etc). You can take as many snapshots as you want, and you can roll-back and roll-forward to and from any snapshot whenever you feel like it!

ciprian Hi, I have encountered a small problem. I have an Acer Swift with a SSD and I ended up messing my MBR. Now the problem is fixed (although after several attempts with a recovery cd I have no idea what worked), but I have no courage to reinstall the program again. Is there something I can do to make it work?

Constantin Florea @Patrocle Misu, You mean on this page:
http://horizondatasys.com...al-Pricing

I do see a price of $59.00 under Cost Per License but the associated number under the Number of Workstations is 5 to 24 PCs so you would have to purchase at least 5 licenses to have that price of $59.00 per license.

Support @ciprian. Did you know which version of RollBack Rx Pro you tried during your testing? Some recommendations to make sure that the software installed correctly would be temporarily disabling your antivirus software and disabling BitLocker.

We would suggest submitting a support ticket or contacting us directly on chat during support hours so that we can assist you further
Support Hi Folks!

MrZebulon From my experience with the latest 2 versions of Rollback RX (in Windows 7 and 10/1709), it interferes with the VSS service and the Windows internal restore point creation. To switch it totally off is not an option because a lot of setup routines want to create one before installing and get no feedback from the service.
I coulnd't even restart the VSS service. Timeout message from Windows.
Therefore new installations take very long to start or hang. I couldn't determine the reason so I uninstalled Rollback. I am sure it is a good product but because of this problem I don't have the patience to wait for new installations to complete. May be only my problem. I don't know. I would lie to get Rollback running

Lupke Brother @Support,

Can I use this software to make snapshots on an external HDD/SSD? Through USB?

If I click 'get this deal' it's only possible to buy 1 license at a time? Can you arrange to buy multiple licenses at once?

Your 'gold support and maintenance' 15$ fee per year applies to both updates AND upgrades of the software?

Eugeniusz Giedz 31.05 $ is a license for 1 PC (is it lifetime?).
I need 3 or 5 computers (PC) - what will be the price, how to make a transaction. Regards.

Support @Patrocle Misu
- the license is perpetual to the version purchased. 1 license per PC. Yes current version is compatible with Windows 10 32/64bit and works with SSDs

@Lupke Brother
- no, the snapshots are saved on the local hard drive as these are not backup images but more like "sector maps" of the hard drive.
- the BDJ is for only one license but you can buy multiple times
- the Gold Support is an optional annual subscription that guarantees a free license upgrade to the next major version release

@Eugeniusz Giedz
- yes its 1 license for 1 pc, the license is transferable to another PC if needed. The BDJ promo is for only one license, you would have to make multiple purchases for multiple licenses.
d adams Could the publisher address the questions raised by MrZebulon? I am interested in this program but not at the expense of giving up system restore. Also I had Rollback on an older Windows XP system. In order to drfrag the hard drive I had to uninstall Rollback first. After the drefrag process I would reinstall Rollback. Is that still an issue with this current version?

Rick Tibbitts Same questions as MrZebulon and d adams... I'm interested in Rollback, but don't want to have this creating other issues with Windows system updates, system restore, etc. I see the special pricing is good for just another hour. Hate to lose out on the discounted price, but don't want to pay for something I may not be able to use.

MrZebulon Please let me partly quote a RollbackRX Blog entry:

"RollBack Rx still works with TRIM, and vice versa. But, as with all garbage cleanup utilities, it is hard to get an accurate reading of the drive as RollBack Rx will take over and redirect incoming TRIM commands to other sectors to ensure the integrity of the software, and the data, is not compromised until fully available.

*In certain cases, those sectors are still protected from the automated TRIM function for a time, but if manually run by Optimizing the disk, it will reset the sectors."

I am using some of these garbage cleanup utilities, like PrivaZer, from time to time.
For my understanding those tools will erase Rollback's snapshots. Am I right?

Yes, RollBack Rx does utilize VSS to capture the current system state and for creating snapshots. By default, it will disable Windows' system restore during installation to save disk space and avoid redundancy. However, Windows' system restore can be re-enabled after RollBack Rx is installed. Although it does not happen often, if there is a 3rd party app that is trying to install takes a long time, you can check the KB link here http://support.horizondat...o-complete
Support @d adams
Although it is still ideal to uninstall RollBack for Windows' disk defragmenter to be effective, it would still run while Rollback Rx is installed. The issue really is that it would be pointless performing disk defragmenter as it would just be running within the RollBack Rx ecosystem, so the disk defragmenter would just be optimizing the current snapshot and since RollBack Rx captures all disk activity, the snapshot size created afterward would be substantially bigger.
Support @Rick Tibbitts
Since RollBack works beneath the Windows File System it won't be interfering/stopping it, but rolling back to a previous snapshot does revert all data back to the time the snapshot was taken.
Support @william User.
Yes, you can password protect the application as well as create user profiles to delegate what they can do with Rollback Rx.
Support @MrZebulon
Same with the disk defragmenter, since the 3rd party app would still be working within the Rollback Rx ecosystem, it would just be cleaning the current system state. The snapshot records are encrypted sector maps so they shouldn't be deleted.

For purchases without opting in a maintenance contract, you get a free upgrade if the major build is released within 60days of your purchase. http://support.horizondat...ade-policy
