Frank Stephens While I personally don't need this as I have Microsoft Math and the fabulous WolframAlpha is available online, I did take a look at SuperCalc. It uses the ancient Microsoft Agent technology for speech, and it did read back the tape correctly, but I found that, on data entry, it would speak some input but skip other input. The Cost, Sell and Margin Functions page is missing from the Help file, it's linked to the Currency Conversions page, even from the Index. I can't imagine very many uses for the point-of-sale calculator, perhaps a garage sale if you have a laptop and a portable printer.

manh ha Supercalc is an expression calculator for Windows. An expression calculator gives the user the ability to type an equation exactly as it is to be evaluated. This allows for much more intuitive use of the calculator. Instead of the cumbersome buttons associated with a traditonal windows calculator, you simply type what you want.


SuperCalc

Supercalc is a fully functioning Application Desktop Toolbar, just like the standard Windows Taskbar. The Supercalc window can be docked at either the top or bottom of the screen, or can be left floating by itself. When it is docked, Supercalc can be made to auto-hide, so that it can remain hidden unobstrusively at the top of the screen. When the mouse is moved over it, Supercalc will slide into view allowing you to perform a quick calculation.

Supercalc also installs its own icon in the system tray area of the Taskbar. Even when you close the Supercalc window down, Supercalc will always be accessible to you. A simple double-click of the Supercalc icon will popup the window for quick calculations.

3 modes of operation.



Computer Mode

Uses the Pentium processor's built-in integer operations to perform arithmetic. The C language syntax is used to express an equation. All C operators are supported, including arithmetic and relational operators. The result of an expression can be displayed in one of four number systems: Binary, Octal, Decimal and Hexadecimal. In addition, the binary width of the result can be adjusted to display the result with either 8, 16 or 32bits of precision.






Scientific Mode
Uses the Pentium processor's floating point operations to perform
high-precision arithmetic. All C floating-point operators are supported, and all calculations have up to 19bits of precision. This mode has the advantage of using decimal numbers in calculations, and works just like a normal calculator would. The disadvantage is that calculations will not be 100% accurate, due to the way floating point numbers are represented inside the computer. Floating-point results can be displayed in fixed or exponential format.






Fraction Mode
Provides 100% accurate results by representing all numbers using fractions instead of a single floating point number. All arithmetic is performed using fractions, so you can be sure that all calculations will result in a correct answer. In additional to this, decimal numbers can be used in expressions as well, and will be converted into fraction form to perform the calculations. Fraction results can be expressed in either rational or irrational form.





Supercalc is highly configurable. The font type and font colours can be adjusted to suit your own personal tastes. The Supercalc window can also be intuitively resized so that instead of a single strip with the edit fields positioned next to each other, the window can be made taller with the edit fields positioned one on top of the other.



All settings are automatically saved to the registry, and Supercalc can also be made to run each time you log on to your system. Whatever state you left Supercalc in, this is how it will start up as, whether it was docked and hidden at the top of the screen, or left floating over the desktop at the bottom.

David Sutphin I purchased this earlier today and received the email with instructions for downloading and activating.

I can login to the download page, but the download link does not work. The page times out. Have tried it in IE8, FireFox and Chrome, each with the same result.

This was over 5 hours ago and it is still not work. Sent email to E-Press but not reply. I know it's Saturday but you would think someone was monitoring this since it is being promoted here today.

Andrew Oscianko I have also experienced the frustrating non-response from e-press. I have been sending messages all week. Not one response so far. I am very puzzled as to why.

I purchased SuperCalc pgm on 11th of May, 2009. (Order # 48202) I installed the pgm and all worked well... until early this week when my Operating System developed some nasty anomalies. I decided to format my C-Drive and restore a previous Ghost image which was created before the SuperCalc purchase.

Unfortunately, I am unable to re-install SuperCalc because their system will not allow a "second" activation. It does not recognize that I am trying to re-install the same program on the same machine it originally was activated on.

The original installation is no longer there. The HDD was formatted. Due to the problems I encountered with the OS, I was not able to uninstall SuperCalc prior to formatting.

I have already contacted technical support numerous times. I filled out the dialog boxes, and pressed the submit button. I have received no reply whatsoever for the last week!!!

Please.... this is very frustrating. Your attention to this issue would be truly appreciated.

Due to a computer crash in April, I had this working with no problems. After I got the computer up and running, I tried to get the company to contact me on how to get the program up and running again. Unfortunately, no one has answered any of the numerous e-mails I have sent to them to address this problem. My last e-mail, was returned as undeliverable leading me to think the company is out of business.
