Swift To-Do List

The Power of Simplicity

Swift To-Do List

Do you ever find yourself shaking your head skeptically whenever you hear about something that's "simple, yet powerful"? Are you of the mind that in order for an application to be easy to use it has to be dumbed down and stripped of any advanced functionality?

Ever so often we come across a tool that really is simple and powerful. features an application that truly delivers, is simple to learn, yet powerful in scope and application. It's called Swift To-Do List, and it will rock your task-filled universe.

Swift To-Do List is powerful because it can take all of your tasks - your action items, goals, meetings, phone calls, appointments, ideas, anything and everything - and organizes them in a visually pleasing, categorized hierarchy of folders. For each task, you can add explanatory notes and even attach related files, links, email addresses, and folders - imagine attaching a Powerpoint presentation to the appointment reminder regarding the Big Client Meeting!

But, despite the application's astounding ability to bring order to your life, Swift To-Do List is exceedingly simple and easy to use, right from the moment you install the program. There are no complicated procedures to muddle through - all of your tasks are represented in a tree structure by icons, and you can drag and drop tasks to change their order, and create new tasks and reminders with just a few clicks. Filter the task view to focus on one specific area, such as priority or due date, or expand the entire view to see the big picture. Swift To-Do List is so intuitive, you'll have full command of the application in mere minutes. It really is that simple!

For you road warriors, Swift To-Do List can print out any to-do list of tasks, including any associated notes that you've added. You can even export your task list to HTML or as an Excel spreadsheet!

Trust us, getting and staying organized is one of the most liberating feelings out there. But finding a tool -- the right tool -- now that's the trick.

With an interface that is as simple as it is powerful and a colorful, fun icon set that'll spice up your organizational process, you'll love Swift To-Do List. Give it a try, and see how productive your brand new ORGANIZED life has the potential to become!

No updates to any programs on developers website since August of 2009.

    Hi Carl,

We've released some minor updates but we haven't posted in the News about them.

But the main thing is: We've been working on a new major version very hard for the last 250+ days. It will include more than 100 new features and numerous improvements. We plan to release it approximately in a month. It will be a paid upgrade, but the best part is: This bits du jour promotion comes with a free upgrade to the new major version.

"We are still offering free lifetime upgrades for anyone who
purchases our software before version 7.0 is released."

Will you still be honoring the free lifetime upgrades?

    Jiri Novotny (Dextronet Vendor)
    Hi Keith,

All minor upgrades will be free (up to 7.99), version 8 will probably be paid upgrade again. The paid upgrades will be always discounted for current users.

The quote above is from an email sent on Feb 15, 2008
to all the users to offer them a discount and tell
them that when version 7 is released new purchases
will not have the lifetime upgrades included anymore.

A copy of the email has been sent to bitsdujour
    and the developer.

It's a shame that the developer decided not to honor
the lifetime upgrade policy as stated.

Talking about upgrades: the website just mentions 'free upgrades'. Does this mean upgrades within one version, or all upgrades ('lifetime upgrades')?
  • Mar 28 2010 3:58pm
    Jiri Novotny (Dextronet Vendor)
    Hi Peter,

That's for one version. But because the new major version is going to be released soon, anyone who purchases Swift To-Do List now or later will get 7.0 for free and all updates up to 7.99 for free.

Jiri, I am confused about your upgrade policies.

I purchased Swift To-Do List v6.993 when it was on Bitdujour in September, 2009, just about 6 months ago.

Unless I am misunderstanding you, you are saying that people who buy v6.993 today will get updates through v7.99 . . .

But those of us who purchased v6.993 in September will have to purchase the v7 upgrade?

    Is that correct?

If so, what is the cost of the v7 upgrade going to be? Is it cheaper to simply purchase another license on this Bitsdujour promotion and get the v7 upgrade free?

By the way, I am somewhat ticked IF you intend to charge me for an upgrade on a product that I've had for so little time. Being a new vendor to me, I have no idea of what your product cycle is - but 6 months is short.

    Jerry

    Hi Jerry,

Yes, what you are saying is correct. I don't know the exact price of the upgrade yet, but it will be cheaper to purchase on Bitsdujour today.

Our product cycle is not short. In fact, the version 6.xx has actually been around for quite some time - almost 3 years, and we've gradually added lots of major features into it for free.

Swift To-Do List 7.0 is basically rewritten and optimized from scratch. We could've released it as a new product, but that wouldn't be fair. However, if we are going put so much tremendous amounts of work into R&D, then we simply can't afford free upgrades. Yes, we could do them for free, but then we couldn't afford to rewrite the whole product from scratch, add 100+ new features and improve every single aspect of it.

This has been one of the hardest decisions that we ever had to do, but I strongly believe that paying the upgrade price will pay off anyone tremendously via the increased productivity and more organized life. Swift To-Do List 7.0 is going to be the number one software of it's kind.

If you try the new major version that me and me colleagues put so much effort into (working 90-hour weeks) - and then think that it wouldn't pay you off to purchase it, I will personally send you the upgrade free of charge.

I hope this clarifies it a bit, Jerry :)

sounds awful jerry, i to dislike fishy promises & blurry upgrade policies, other vendors promoting on bdj have done same thing, i now take this in consideration every time i buy here, guess i´m not buying dextronet today

    Hi Folks,

Your point is good Patrick, this is often discussed on DonationCoder. Vendors often overstate, then either release a new product or not honor. It is a disappointment, since ones word is important, but the difficulties are real.

3rd party Suggestion: maybe Dextronet could compromise .. e.g. offer an addition Release Number (e.g. to 9) for those who bought what they though what was lifetime. Which would likely be a year or two extra. I do not have the product, although I do think it is pretty swift :) and will look at it again.

Will there be a calendar function in 8 ?

    Shalom,
    Steven Avery
