Techtoysavvy Does SynchPST require outlook to be installed or does it work independently of Outlook? For Exchange sync, I assume you opne a copy of the OST file. You do not need to connect to the Exchange seriver.

njw I've tried this and synch works fine but I leave a copy of my emails on the server and because of this it downloads the emails again even though they're already there from being synched. isn't the program supposed to synch the ´ already downloaded' status of the emails?

'SynchPst for Outlook' needs to have an Outlook installed. If you synchronize with an Exchange server then the Exchange account is being synchronized - not the ost file.

Outlook creates the duplicates because Outlook doesn't know that a synchronized e-mail is already in its database and downloads the email again.
Don't leave e-mails on your server and synchronize your emails with 'SynchPst for Outlook'.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping SynchPst could synchronize the "database" you mention so that Outlook would know that a synchronized email is already in its database. This is the exact feature I need. Otherwise I can just copy the pst file from machine to machine which is what I do now, but I have to logon to webmail fist to archive the mail so I don't get duplicates downloaded.

I would still have to do that with SynchPst so I can't see that it's offering me much functionality for the price.

Techtoysavvy Thanks. Would syncpst work if DisablePST is set in the registry say via group policy. The ideas is not to allow users to copy or archive exchange mail to a pst.
