Sandro Marques Hello Karl M., Telist Pro can call any Email client that you have. In your case, if you click on a E-mail address at Telist, it calls the new message window of Thunderbird.

Hello Tim Parsons, you can save the database file on any drive (Ex. Pen USB) but you must always to have Telist installed on machine.

lemonade soda Does it provide LDAP service to "all" the PC's on my home network? Can I access the telists remotely, such as when I am travelling, through the internet? ie. does it have an http server service? If yes to both these questions, then GREAT. If no, then I'm not seeing much value added over opensource offerings.

Telist have your own service to share the contacts over local network instead LDAP service, but sorry, it doesn't have access through the internet. That will be one of the new features to future versions.

The license is good until next major update. When new version will be released, you can continue install/register this version at any time. Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment.

It is possible share the same database over local network.

Timothy Wallace I purchased 7 licenses. At this price, it is worth trying out. If it works as advertised, I will be a happy customer. I am somewhat concerned because there is no manual, user guide, or install guide, anywhere to be found. The installation file is an ".msi" file, which is not the usual ".exe" install file, so I would have expected an explanation to be included somewhere about how to proceed, and how installation would differ from a normal ".exe" installation. The most exciting feature of this program is it's ability to be used over a network, with a single database. Thank you.

I just sent you a email with instructions on how to install the Telist over the local network.
The MSI file is the natural file installation and it works like EXE.

Sandro Marques Hello again Timothy Wallace, you can't send emails through the Telist but if you have the Gmail account configured on any Windows Email Client like Outlook, if you click on an E-mail address at Telist, it calls the new message window of the Email Client.

Tazzie Sandro,

I am very interested in Telist because I need software that has a database with good details that can be shared over a home network of quite a few computers.

How is new information shared over the network? If new info, such as a new contact, is entered on one computer in Telist, will it be synchronized among the Telist databases on all the other computers in the home network (thus deleting the need to enter new contact info in each database individually)?

I downloaded and installed Telist 6.0 and ever since the install
every time i start the program or even start other programs it
tries to re-install itself and ask/request the location of the
.msi file..i have to constantly "x" out of several boxes before the
program will load ... any idea what could be causing this problem?

When you add, edit or delete a contact in one computer, in other computers all data is updated when refreshed (be aware that the data is not updated instantly).
All upgrades have 50% off of regular price of Telist Pro.
And yes, we've plans to develop mobile versions Android and iPhone but the development isn't started yet.

The license was already sent.
Please don't call the installation inside zip file. You should unzip the install file first and then you can install it normally.
It is also best practice don't move or remove the install file, because some programs may conflicts with Telist DLL's and the installation will be triggered.

The Telist just can be installed on Windows desktop or laptop. At the moment, it can't be installed on smartphones.

Timothy Wallace I installed the program on one machine, and tried to create two groups. However, when I click on File -- Groups -- Create, it seems to create users instead of groups. Then, when I go to groups in the contacts screen, there doesn't seem to be any other way to create custom group names. So, I am more than a little confused, in my first 5 minutes in using the program.

Timothy Wallace Is there any way to make the screen larger? It doesn't allow me to resize it, and maximized, it only takes up about 20% to 25% of my screen. That is not really great.

Timothy Wallace I did figure out how to add groups, but they seem next to worthless. I would expect to be able to click on a group, and be able to see all of the contacts associated with that group. This is a serious convenience and usability issue. I suggest the developer consider adding this functionality as soon as possible. In addition, I still don't like the tiny amount of screen real estate the application utilizes on the screen. My 50+ year old eyes can barely see the information presented, it appears there is zero customization on field names, or adding or customizing existing field names. I do wish to state the developer should either clarify the interface, in terms of creating users, versus creating groups. I think it would be best if the drop-down had one selection for create groups, and one for create users. That would avoid the confusion I had over which was which. I was only able to figure it out by observing what happened when I clicked buttons. The interface for adding groups and users still doesn't make sense.

It is no possible to maximize the Telist and I know that isn't good on large screens. Another feature for next release without doubt.
To add new groups, you should click at File Groups Create, but then you must click on "Add" button instead "Create" button. The "Create" button is a shortcut to create new users.
When you add a contact, you must choose one group and then you can filter you contacts by groups.

Timothy Wallace I now want to edit users. I want to shorten the name to just the first name of the user, so the user doesn't have to type their entire name in order to log into the application. I wasn't aware of the ramifications of using a long name as the user name. Now, I can't figure out how to edit (or delete, so I can just re-ad) system users. Please advise.

Chris Roy Jackson Are you using PayPro Global for your Payment Processor ???
I am using PayPal to Pay for 2 Licenses and my Progress is Successful all the way through PayPal's Process...
THEN, (when I should be taken to Your Website's page showing a successful Purchase, INSTEAD...) I am shown the error message that follows:

" This payment cannot be completed and your account has not been charged. Please contact your merchant for more information.

Return to merchant and try a different payment method
We are not able to process your payment using your PayPal account at this time.
Please return to the merchant's website and try using a different payment method (if available).

I have NO Problem using PayPal for MANY Purchases (except for Zentimo last weekend using PayPro Global which showed an Identical Message!!!

Before you suggest a problem with my PayPal Account... I logged in there and comfirmed that ALL is "Good to Go" !!!

I only have a few minutes until I need to go out, then I will not be back until around 12:30 (am Pacific time).

I have Now succeeded in Paying for the Licenses, and am WAITING for the License Emai.l Info to Arrive from TeList!!!

I am Primarily writing this email to help Telist corrrect their Processor's Process, and explain to other user's (for today) that may have had the same problem as me!!!

If you elect to pay by PayPal:
After Clicking on the "Pay with PayPal" Button a New Window will Open asking you to Log into your PayPal Account.
NOT: Instead of using this window (as you would expect to do)... You should go to your Email Inbox and check for a ne email from info@telist.net and open it. Then look for the Link to make a payment with PayPal. Everything should go as expected from there!!!

I hope that helps someone, and to Telist... You need to have your Payment processor change their script to open a new page telling your customers togo to their inbox!!

It does NOT state that it is for 2 licenses, but I assume that is correct and I use the same Registration Information for both licenses.

Timothy Wallace The database needs separate input fields for last name and first name. There should be a field named "work phone," or even better, the ability to customize the fields to whatever name I want .
3 Cell number fields, no work fax, home fax, home email, work email. Some serious work needs to be done to make this a near ideal contact database.
