We like the idea of the Windows Quick Launch bar, and even -- on rare occasions -- find ourselves using it. But we're always struck with the vauge, disconsolate feeling that it simply isn't reaching it's full potential.
True Launch Bar is a vastly-superior replacement for the standard Quick Launch bar. Don't worry -- every Quick Launch function is also in True Launch Bar, and they share the same shortcut folder. However, True Launch Bar allows us to combine our shortcuts into groups and display them in convenient popup menus. Right off the bat it saves us space on our desktop and makes it a snap to launch our favorite applications.
True Launch Bar is extremely configurable. We love the "auto-popup menus on mouse hover" option, and the "large icon" option makes working at high screen resolutions much more comfortable. Creating a new menu is as simple as right-clicking on True Launch Bar, and you can designate hotkeys to launch applications.
Best of all, True Launch Bar supports plugins like Mail Monitor, Weather Forecast, Media Control, System Process Monitor, Color Picker, Voice Recorder, Calculator, and dozens more!
But don't take our word for it. Give True Launch Bar a try today and watch how quickly you ask yourself how you ever lived without it.
I really did like the basic design of the program, I was able to get it to put a few of the items on it and try it out. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work at all like in the video they have. This was the main reason that I even tried the program was due to some of the features I saw in video. I have some programs I use alot and need to access easily and I thought this program would give me access to them from the bottom bar. Unfortunately, though the video looked great, I found no way to perform many of the functions that where shown in the video. In the video you see the program running from the bottome bar. I could not find any directions on getting it to run this way either threw the FAQ or the help screen. All it would run was on a small bar on the top of the computer, There are no directions that show or tell you how to get the program to run in the bottome tool bar. Many of the items it said it can do, I was unable to figure out and the help/FAQ. The Help/FAQ left me so frustrated, I got rid of the program. Still, if you find that you don't mind running the program from the top of your computer, than, you might like it.
Here is small flash video where you can see how to open True Launch Bar on the taskbar (bottom toolbar): http://www.truelaunchbar.com/open.html Let me know If this not helped I would be happy to help you.
Originally I used the free version of this for a couple of years before upgrading to the paid version. It takes a while to get it configured the way you want, but once there it is a great program. Besides some categorized launch bars for programs and folders i use most often in the system tray I added plugins for weather and one to check email. Great program and easily worth the reduced price here.
I've been using this with WinXP since the last time it was featured on BDJ. It's a great program and has worked flawlessly. I really like it.
Great tool. I also purchased this last time here, and think it's one of the best 10.00 I've ever spent.
Yeah, same here. I bought it last time and really like it. Good deal.
Had this program for awhile now. I have yet to take advantage of it's more exotic features, nevertheless as a launch bar on my 64 bit Vista laptop it works great and I am glad I have it.
I'm using this software for years, and it's one of first things that I install on a new system. I even written a review or two on some blogs. It's a tremendous time-saver and, for $10, there's really no reason to think. Highly recommended!
For anyone (like myself) interested in buying True Launch Bar, it should be noted that this time around, the BdJ deal on TLB isn't quite as good as advertised. I went to TLB's website on Friday to check out the program and download a trial copy (and again just a few minutes ago to make sure that nothing had changed before posting this comment) and noticed that they have "Summer Discounts" pricing right now, with TLB selling for $15US. That makes the BdJ discount only $5 (33%), rather than the $10 (50%) that's advertised. Not that a 33% discount isn't a good deal...just not quite as good as the 50% that's advertised :-)
I've been using True Launch Bar over a year now, and think it was one of the best purchases I made, and I purchased it at the full price. I usually have a lot of apps open, which leaves little room for my quick launch bar. True Launch Bar fixed that problem, plus allowed me to categorize my shortcuts. Very efficient program, and works great.
I've bought it as it's far simpler to configure than Workshelf and more flexible. The 'tear-off' option can give you a completely floating launchbar just like Workshelf if that's what you want. I'm just getting to grips with the advanced features and plug-ins. Highly recommended for those who want access to progs without the clutter of a full desktop. My desktop is empty - just using True Launchbar. An absolute bargain at todays price. I've been looking at the forum and the support looks very good - very responsive to suggestions. A++
Hello, Is 1 license enough when having dual boot (for both sites) and a virtual machine on my PC ? Thank you very much
Yes, 1 license is enough.
I know that TLB has a backup option. But what files/folders do I have to back up when using my own backup solution?
By default the toolbar folder is: %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch Backup all files including the hidden. All menus shortcuts and toolbar settings are in that folder.
This software is brilliant. I always haved a 'busy' desktop and this program will allow me to organise things so that it is empty again. Yuri is very helpful and I am happy to support him. It's so good I don't mind that I bought it at full price. DrT
Hi! I have a desktop PC and several laptops. I'm the only user of these computers. Is the software license per computer or per user? Thanks! Nick
Nick Kobe: You need one personal license. The Personal License ($9.95) is per user.
I am a devoted TLB user. But I am on Vista, so I have not been able to answer my friends when they ask if TLB really is any good on Win 7. Please?!
Have a great salesday Yuri! i´ve bought it last time time you were here, nice stuff & alot to play with!
I am now using Windows & 64 bit. When I tried this a while back I could not get it to act like the XP feature of docking folders to screen edges, turning them into tool bars. Will this work in TLB in 64bit as described?
Curt: TLB works fine with the Windows 7 (Also I can to recommend to try the beta version with new skins). Also using of the Standalone TLB is the only way to open toolbars detatched from the taskbar. John Gambriel: Yes, this is possible to dock TLB to the any screen edge.
I purchased the software today. At then end of paying for it, ShareIt gave me a license key, however since normally I also get an email also, I just closed out of the site. I never did get an email with the license info, so I may need someone to send it to me. It's been a couple hours, but it's possible that Tordex is closed or something, so I will wait until tomorrow, but if I don't get it, can I get an email address that I can send the request for my license key? Thanks Alan S
Just tried to buy (for the second time). My first try was in the first hour of this offer and finally, after about 12 hours I got an email back, that my credit-card paying did not get through. (No message, why..) This time I tried to pay with PayPal. And again this 'Unfortunately the transaction for your order has been delayed'-message. Last time I tried to pay with ShareIt (and also my first time) was the same. Why does ShareIt needs so long to decide. Others can say immediately read moreif the transaction did work or not!? When I bought the last time with ShareIt the situation was quite the same: They declined the first order and after having tried another one and having still no answer some minutes before the end of the offer, I tried it again. In the end I had unintentionally bought the product twice. It was quite a work to get the money back for the unwanted second license. This time - I will not try again until I get a negative message again - I fear, instead of getting it twice, I will not get a single license at all. Perhaps - in that case - Tordex will let me buy for the current price... Hoping the best...
Happened very quickly for me. I just bought online using a credit card and in less than an hour I rec'd the license via email.
Yes, I also just received my license key via email. It's all good.
My second try, having being delayed, was also declined. Using a second postal address and paying again with PayPal finally worked directly. Lucky me. Two hours before offer was closed. Looking forward for future adventures with ShareIt. @Tordex: I really appreciate this fair kind of license: A single license for all computers a user has. Nowadays, that a single user has quite often has a desktop and a laptop, paying per installation is - in my eyes - as if someone wants to make extra money... read morePeople can not really multitask, so noone is using a program twice at the very same time...

Agree wirh Michael. Shareit are bunch of pathetic losers, pissed me off the same way, and not the first time. Whoever uses them, will sooner or later end up looking like them, sorry. Never seen such a slow service, all the otheres work immediately and without false redit limit alarms.
Liked the bar and went to pay for it, but VAT on order form is charged at 19%, while VAT here in UK is currently 15%! Who is taking the extra 4%? Was willing to buy Home license, but sticking with Personal now. :-(
Posting here will also email Tordex directly.
