T Raynor I have 4 licenses for the product and it does the job pretty well. Not perfect, but saves a lot of work, and I don't care if the music is 100% perfectly tagged. For the price, it will easily justify it's cost in time saved. The only issue I have is I wish you could just tell it to correct all of your music and not have to drag over blocks of songs.

James A The single license transfer makes me leery of purchasing. I can understand not allowing a single license to be active on multiple machines simultaneously; but not being able to take my software with me as I move from system to system does not seem like a sound investment. TuneUp Media has done an incredible job of thwarting pirates post version 1.1.9, but at what cost to the legitimate consumer? A company's policies should make their customers confident in their purchases. That being said, I still plan on buying TuneUp Media on Thursday. I can only hope that they will allow multiple license transfers in the future so I won't have to worry about what I'll do when I get new computers.

I can assure you that taking another look at our licensing policy is on the list and we hope to be able to deliver a happy medium sometime in the future. For what it's worth, as I believe I've noted in the past, we do allow for you to transfer your license once. Such being said, I'm glad to hear that you'll be purchasing TuneUp regardless. Harlan Bruce Really, all this regular complaining about license policies. The vendor has to recover some of his time developing the software. Permitting it to be transferred one time on a lifetime license is a bit limiting, but I can live with it. I am using the software right now and it seems very useful. Rather than installing the application on multiple PC's it would be just as easy to transfer the music to one PC, update the tags and transfer it back. Unless something really goes wrong in the next 24 hours, I plan on purchasing the software. Thanks.

What information is left on your server after updating my songs?

Michael Crosson Just about everyone has more than one computer these days (desktop, laptop, netbook and perhaps an office computer) and license schemes should reflect this. I suppose one could get around the licensing restriction of TuneUp by copying their music files to an external HD and then updating the tags on the computer the software is installed on, and then copy them back again, but this is annoying and reduces the time saving benefit of the software. It has to be a very special program for me to tolerate strict licenses, so I'll have to pass even though I am interested what this software does. Also, it needs to work with lossless formats as well as MP3 and WMA.

Pedro Laurent I bought this software and is good for what it does, but Sony Media Go can do the same thing for free and without license restriction, and uses the Gracenote database to search for missing ID tags, cover images as well, Rip CD to ACC or MP3 from 64kbps to 320kbps for both formats and you can edit songs ID manually if necessary.

@Thomas L. - Unfortunately, we need to use the internet to send fingerprints to Gracenote and provide results. There's really no other way for us to do this. I can say that we very much protect your privacy and don't store any information about where your music came from, etc. Finally - as far as I know, there's no way to turn off concerts. I can double check with our engineering team, however.

@Michale Crosson - Please see my comments to James A. We're working on a better solution, but as I noted, we need to pay our engineers and we wanted to keep the price for consumers low. Plus, @ 50% off, you're getting a much better deal than the bulk of users who purchase TuneUp.

@Charles Cowan - I would say that we're pretty decent with classical music. TuneUp will fill in the Composer tag, which is a major plus for the classical music fans out there. If you're uncertain, I would urge you to try out the free version (TuneUp Lite - available for download on our website), throw some of your classical tracks at it and see how it does. If you're not happy with results, no love lost and you haven't spent any money.

@Pedro Laurent - While Sony Media Go does use Gracenote's MusicID, it's a separate media player and it's Windows only. As Sony owns Gracenote, it would make sense that they would be able to offer this service for free. This service also lacks that music discovery features, that many, many of our users have come to love. For what it's worth, we're building out more products and features in the coming months to provide an even better service to our users.
