Screen and Interface Mockups, Done Fast
Calling all open source technologists! If you're using Eclipse as your software development platform, you'll want to hear about this.
WireframeSketcher is an Eclipse plug-in that helps you to create wireframes, screen mockups, and user interface prototypes fast. What does this mean to you? It means you'll be able to clearly communicate your design intent to your customers and obtain valuable feedback and guidance, BEFORE you invest a lot of time programming in the wrong direction! Experts say that this approach is a lot better than scribbling on a paper napkin.
Just use WireframeSketcher to sketch screen mockups and interface prototypes right in the Eclipse IDE. Using the provided library of over 30 widgets and 120 icons, lay out your labels, text fields, trees and tables. You can even populate WireframeSketcher widgets with sample data to demonstrate how the final product will look. WireframeSketcher lets you work on multiple screen mockups at once, with the ability to copy and paste items between screens and multiple levels of undo/redo. Mockups are saved as XML files, and can be exported in the PNG graphics format.
WireframeSketcher even lets you create Master templates that allow you to create standard dialogs that can be reused in multiple screens. Any changes you make to the master screen are immediately reflected in any screen that uses it. There's full support for storyboarding, so you can demonstrate how the interface responds to user actions and input! Want full screen presentation? It's in there!
