Maybe you suspect nefarious goings-on with your network. Or maybe you're just curious about how many active connections you have going on. Either way, you're going to need an effective network monitor that's easy to use and highly configurable. In other words, you're going to need today's discount software promotion, X-NetStat 5.6!

X-NetStat 5.6 lets you view detailed information on all current Internet and network connections in realtime. With X-NetStat 5.6, you'll be able to see the IP and hostname address, ports, applications, bandwidth usage, and status information of everything that's going into and out of your network. In this way, it's incredibly easy to find out if a specific application is hogging bandwidth, and identifying malware programs that are up to no good is a cinch.

Not only does X-NetStat 5.6 serve as a network monitor, the program also lets you take action on what you're seeing. A nifty and powerful Rules System lets you establish certain responses that are triggered by network conditions. A collection of Lookup Tools, such as TraceRoute, WHOIS, Finger, DNS, and more, let you take all necessary steps to discover the origin of unfamiliar traffic. And with an integrated Web Server, you'll be able to peek in on X-NetStat 5.6 from any remote location with a web connection!

Amit Hello, I have a very important query that can x-netstat also restrict the bandwidth of individual applications too ? like say if a browser streaming a video, or any other application taking too much broadband bandwidth, then can it put a rule on it, to restrict the bandwidth the application is consuming, to only a certain amount, like 100 KBps or so. And if this feature is not still present currently, can you add this to x-netsat soon. Thanks.

JLG I have been using this for years and have tried many others, and it is still the best personal network monitoring system there is. As long as it is at this price, get it.

Andrew Niese @Amit -- X-NetStat does not restrict the bandwidth, only report on it. What X-NetStat could do is trigger a rule once bandwidth exceeds a certain amount, and respond to that rule with various actions --- for example, killing the connection or running a script. But it can not slow down or limit the rate of external applications. For that you would need a traffic shaping app. If you need that feature, you may want to look into NetLimiter. I have heard good things about it, but haven't tried it myself.
