I suppose it would be asking too much to get Adobe PhotoShop?

I'm using a trial version of Folder Lock which I want to buy & it would be good to buy it with a discount.

marek jedlinski Hi Nico, thanks for a fantastic service! On Thursday Oct 23 you featured Navicat, a mySQL adminitration utility. I installed the trial and liked it a lot, but before I bought it I found something that I think is better: a suite of SQL db tools named Maestro: http://www.sqlmaestro.com/products/

There is an application equivalent to Navicat (SQL Maestro for mySQL), but there are also sister applications for managing Firebird, Oracle, SQLite and other databases.

After installing the trial versions, I think they offer more funtionality than Navicat (the graphical db designer, for instance) and are more convenient to use in some respects (e.g. the SQL editor). Note that for each DB vendor there are several utilities, such as dedicated editors for writing SQL code (Code Factory for mySQL, etc).

Each individual program is less expensive than Navicat, but a suite of 4 mySQL tools is significantly more expensive (even though they are already somewhat discounted against the sum total of the price of each individual program). I'm not sure if you would be able to get discounts on individual utilities or whole suites, but I'd love to see those on Bits du Jour, especially the mySQL and SQLite variants.

Nico Westerdale Looks interesting, we'll see what we can do.

Sharon Mills I don't have a particular brand of software in mind, but I would be interested in a software that would change a PDF file into a Word file. I have seen this on here but it was quite a while ago.

Also, I would be interested in a software that would take a video and clip just one frame from it, making a still picture.

Thanks,
Sharon

Roger Thomasson Sharon, we're actually featuring a PDF to Word application in December. Would you like us to notify you when we get closer to the promotion date?

We'll look into the video clip software.

Best!

Dear Nico

It be great if you could get a deal on this expensive little program: AnyDVD

It removes dvd protections such as region code on the fly so i can watch other region dvd's on my pc or backup dvd's on the harddrive. It updates all the time yet 50 euro's is way beyond my budget. So please try to bargain your a.. off so to speak :)

Can you let me know if your interrested? Here's their link: http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

Kind regards,

Easy CD-DA Extractor is incredible and I should have bought it a long time ago. Over the years I've always heard or read good things about it and I am finally planning on shelling out the cash and buying it. Below is a quick blurb about it from the website (http://www.poikosoft.com).

Easy CD-DA Extractor, the Swiss Army Knife Of Digital Audio is ALL-IN-ONE music converter that rips Audio CDs, converts audio files from one format to another, edits metadata of audio files and burns Audio CDs, MP3 CDs and DVDs, and Data CDs and DVDs.

Check out the Easy CD-DA Extractor ratings on Download.com...

I forgot to mention another great thing about Easy CD-DA Extractor.

Quoting from the "Buy" page:

"One-time purchase includes free lifetime upgrades. One license allows you to install the software on all your personal computers."

In case you haven't posted this already, try out the Coffee Cup web site applications. They do have some freebies already, and some package deals that they might consider for your discount program. My favorite things are that they know how to have fun (read the bios in Warm People) and the free upgrades for life! I have used their suite for a few years now and always had great response to my questions. Yes, there are online template-based site builders that are pretty good, but they're no substitute for a full slate of tools when you want them to make a unique web site, easily.

Roger Thomasson Fired an introduction off to the Coffee Cup folks -- seems like a great company with a bunch of great products.

Thanks for the suggestion!
