Cary Adams Pretty basic PDF editing. Can't edit forms or create forms. I needed to remove form "buttons" from a PDF and there is no means to do this. I used the corporate trial, fwiw.

ABBYY is excellent OCR... beyond that, this software lacks for its price, even at 50% off.

Hello David!

The Fine Reader 15 Standard and Fine Reader for Mac are two different products for two different platforms.

The PC product - Fine Reader 15 is our latest version with more advanced solutions in terms of OCR and PDF editing. You can learn more about it here

https://www.abbyy.com/fin.../features/

Unfortunately it won't work on mac plafroms.

The Mac product - Fine Reader for Mac is older but still one of the best products on market. You can learn more here

SoftCollector As an OCR software (and especially for Cyrillic languages which are not handled well by other OCR products) Finereader is truly No 1. As a PDF viewer/editor, Finereader is not as good as other PDF-only products. I bought v14 a few months back and I have tried the new v15. There is simply no incentive to upgrade at this price point, the new version is more of an update than an upgrade of v14, differences are negligible.

ABBYY Hello @SoftCollector!

I can't agree with you on this point. There is a plenty of changes been done in our latest version of the product. The full list you can check here:

David Robinson Hello Abbyy,
Is your price for outright purchase or is it an annual subscription? You do not state, please clarify.
Also why is the Apple price so much cheaper [smaller market?] than the Windows price [larger market?]?

ABBYY Hello @David Robinson!

Our price is "one time payment". You don't need to pay more than that in future.

For you second question. Even though Fine reader for Mac is one of the best products on market in this niche - it is older than a PC version and it does not have some of the newest features which Fine Reader 15 has. We thought it would be unfair to ask the same price for these products.

Robert Crombie Does your program Convert PDFs to JPGs ?
Does your program(s) have a command line interface ?
Such an interface allows you to call (execute) the program, whilst passing instructions such as -
Convert all PDFs in folder C:\PDFs\
Into JPGs
Placing the JPGs into folder C:\JPGs\
It would be nice if it could delete each PDF after it is converted to JPG

Similar functionality could also be provided WITHOUT using the command line.
That would entail the program having some settings where, we tell it where the PDFs folder is (to watch), and where the output JPGs folder is, and the program can be told to run minimized, and keep watching the PDFs folder.
Meaning every time the program sees PDFs (in the PDFs folder), it converts them into JPGs (into the JPGs folder) automatically.
It would delete the PDFs after it has converted them.
