On any given day, you copy and paste so many items that you probably don't even think about it. But just imagine how much more productive you'd be if you could copy and paste more than a single item to the Windows clipboard at a time! Clipstory gives you that exact functionality, and so much more.

With Clipstory, every item you copy to the clipboard is saved in a history file. Later on, you can quickly cycle through your entire history of copied text, files, images, audio and binary data! Not only does Clipstory allow quick access to frequently used clips, you also have the ability to tag items, see extra details about each clip, and save clipped items to disk.

But wait, it gets better! You can set up Clipstory to automatically save clipped items to folders based on their data type, even going as far as to instantly convert image files to your desired format!

geo User Update to me earlier post.
Any copy from the address bar of the web browser in the form of https://.....
shows up only once in the file, but plain text shows up twice.

Hope to hear back from Iconico on this. Maybe a simple fix?

Constantin Florea @geo User, I tried duplicating the issue and the only way I could duplicate it was if I had two instances of Clipstory running. So I assume you started Clipstory once, defined a Text listener then saved the listeners then started Clipstory again while the first instance was still running. You can start as many instances as you like.

By doing the above it meant that you had two Text listeners adding data to the same text file.

Retired Engineer Your website does not say Clipstory will work on W10, although (you say) it will work on W7.

Will Clipstory work on W10?

Constantin Florea @Retired Engineer, Yes Clipstory works on Windows 10.

JesusInsideMe Hi, I saw in ur 2013 forum, append ability option is not working, is it fixed and 100% functional now?, thanks for ur support, God bless u.
Feb 1 2019 at 1:59pm Copy Link
Constantin Florea @JesusInsideMe, It does work in the following way: while Clipstory is not the active window on the screen, you can browse through the Clipboard state using the defined key combination (default is CTRL + SHIFT + UP / DOWN), the active snippet where you are with the browsing process will be shown on the bottom right of the screen. Then if you have a text snippet in the Clipboard and if by browsing you have arrived at an image snippet in the application then you can press CTRL + SHIFT + A to append the image snippet to the text snippet in the Clipboard. The append functionality doesn't append a text to another text in the Clipboard, instead it allows an image snippet and a text snippet to exist in the same time in the Clipboard. If you already have a text snippet and press CTRL + SHIFT + A to append the text snippet to an existing Clipboard text, that text in the Clipboard will actually be replaced by the current text (shown when browsing), that is the current functionality.

Robert Crombie I just installed the Trial into my XP Pro SP3 desktop PC.
It is running, but every time I move the mouse pointer to the Sys Tray Icon, an error appears -
Microsoft .NET Framework (in titlebar of the error message)
Unhandled exception has occuured in your application..........
Invalid Argument = Value of '0' is not a valid Index ........
I can click continue, to keep program running.
If I expand the error message box, it offers this at the bottom -
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I have not attempted that yet.

My other question is -
Where is the database/file stored, as I wish to keep an eye on the size of the accumulated clips.
It would be nice if your main form displayed this info for us.
Jun 24 2019 at 4:47am Copy Link
Constantin Florea @Robert Crombie, The database is kept here:
Folder: C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Iconico\ClipboardParserUtility
File: ClipboardHistory.cdt
Additional folders to store data:

Regarding the error you mention I suggest deleting the contents of the folder mentioned above and installing the application again.

Rohs I am curious if anyone is using this product.
So this will also save a copy of media files copied? Like audio files and movies?

RichU Can the database be stored in an alternative location? I would like to store it in the cloud, so that I could have access from other devices.
Apr 1 2021 at 11:32am Copy Link
Constantin Florea @RichU, The application looks for the database at a specific location which cannot be changed (the location/path is hard coded in the application).

The database is kept here:
Folder: C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Iconico\ClipboardParserUtility
File: ClipboardHistory.cdt
Additional folders to store data:

So you could copy it from the above mentioned location, to other machines on the same path, thus having access to the data on those other machines.
