Sometimes it seems that working with a computer is just an endless series of repetitive tasks -- it's not that far from the truth. But what if you could do away with these tedious tasks? How much more productive would you be? Well, today is the day that you find out, all because of today's discount software promotion, Comfort Keys Lite!

Comfort Keys Lite lets you perform routine actions in just a click, eliminating the need to drill through menus or engage in repetitive tasks. With Comfort Keys Lite, you can launch programs with a single hotkey, or instert predefined text chunks using either hotkeys or a template manager. It's completely customizable to your needs - just record your keypresses as macros and play them back on demand. Bonus features include an on-screen keyboard, plus managers for templates and clipboard contents.

Every macro that you create using Comfort Keys Lite will work in any Microsoft Windows application, and every key on the keyboard is available for mapping your macros. You can even use multiple on-screen keyboards, each customized with a different set of shortcuts. And if you find a combination of macros that you like, you can share it with your entire workgroup just by copying the shortcut file to the network!

Retired Engineer Sir, can I reverse-shift keys in place, so that I don't have to press the Shift key for their shifted versions?.

For example, can I change 1 to ! (its shifted keystroke), 2 to @, 3 to #, = to +, and so on, while at the same time making Shf+1 be 1, Shf+2 be 2, Shf+3 be 3, Shf+= be =, and so on?

If this can be done, are there any keys which which cannot be swapped with their shifted characters?

Thanks.

Sergey Koshkin @Gary: We provide only Lite version for free. Home users may use their single computer usage license on all computers which are in property of the license owner.

@Retired Engineer: You can use action "Paste text". For example, assign text "1" to Shift+1, and text "!" to 1.

Michael R. I think an interesting feature would be to allow assigning a certain key to another key, depending on the currently run application.

So the user could redefine his used key-strokes to the keys of a seldom used application.

So, e.g. CTRL-F4 could mean 'open file' and - after user-configuration - would result in a CTRL-O in NotePad.exe and let's say F2 in another editor.

Or, e.g. CTRL-F10 could mean 'exit applicatione' and - after user-configuration - would result in a ALT-X in one application and let's say F10 in another one.

Yfor To anyone who reads this... you absolutely have to try this program out... Even this "lite" version is loaded with features so well designed that it will probably change the way you work with Windows and its applications forever. Congratulations to the developers who obviously put a lot of thoughts and energy into very detail.

Bernhard Policy says that I may install this software on all owned computers and that license activation isn't required.

Later on it says that I have to install/register within 1 month.
So I may not install it on a new machine afterwards?

Gary Robinson Sir,
On the Pro version, you have Word auto-complete (auto-text) function. Is this supplied with a word list. Can word list be changed.

kailey stone A little confused about the feature differences between pro and lite.
For example, on here it says you can make custom keyboards with lite, but on your website it states this as a feature only available in Pro?

Also, I think that the Pro feature to configure the theme colours should be in lite, as people with visual difficulties, like me, would likely need that feature to use the program at all. (I'll try it anyways, but usually....)

kailey stone An addendum to my prior comment:

Why are themes applied only to parts of the program?
Clipboard manager - yes the theme is applied
Template manager - no theme
Program Options - no theme
etc.....

internet explorer In light of some of the other comments, I would please like to verify that this lite version, and not just the pro, can be used to perform a series of actions one after the other, like a macro? Also, how many "test chunks" can it manage at one time? Thanks.

Emil Kucera The language bar shows only two English lines, and no switching between English and another configured language, which Windows lang. bar recognizes. Have I missed a setting somewhere in CKey? Can't seem to find anywhere in the config. where to do so, yet the comparison of versions shows that two languages are possible.

kailey stone @internet explorer

It does have a macro recorder.
As far as I can tell it's keyboard only, no mouse recording, which is fine for most uses really.

internet explorer sorry about the typo--I meant to say "text chunks" when I was asking about the number of clipboard items the program is able to handle.

Sergey Koshkin @kailey: "You can even use multiple on-screen keyboards, each customized with a different set of shortcuts" means that you can customize on-screen keyboards with shortcuts. You can't make custom keyboards with Lite version.

@Emil: Lite version shows only two first languages/layouts and you can't change them, sorry. Please send an example of unicode characters to Comfort Software support.

@internet explorer: The maximum number of fragments stored in the clipboard history is 100.

Kelly Major I took advantage of this free offer with the hope that an upgrade offer for the pro version will be forthcoming as stated above.

I have no interest in installing or using the lite version because I trialed the Pro version several months ago and it is on my "wish list".

if a discounted upgrade to the Pro version becomes available I assume I will still be eligible and notified even if I do not install the lite version?

Thanks! - KEM

Innuendo This post is informational for people interested in future offers on this software.

To answer Kelly Major's question directly above this post, the upgrade offer is emailed to the email address used to register for this software offer. I received the offer without installing the Lite version so it seems one will get the upgrade offer whether or not you even download the Lite installer.

Regarding the upgrade offer itself, all I can say is wow...the generosity of the developers should be heartily commended. Letting people who took advantage of this freebie to upgrade to a lifetime version of the Pro product for $10.00 is very generous.

Once I installed the evaluation version of the Pro version I couldn't order my upgrade fast enough. Even if the features were identical to the Lite version, there is incentive to upgrade as the freebie version can't be installed a month from now.
