carl thorpe The fine print says it is for personal use only.

I can find no such language on the website, nor can I find any indication of a commercial use allowed license.

It seems odd that a paid add-on for excel (of all programs) is personal use only.

bvssunnydale No matter how good it might be - and it might be great [I'm certainly not an Excel expert so wouldn't know how to tell] - the installation on a single computer license makes the license too restrictive to consider purchasing Dose. If it were "by user" instead of "single computer" I would consider it (everyone I know has at two, if not three, computers these days - home, work, laptop). I realize the programmer has to make a living but he/she could consider either a "by user" option or a multiple cpu license. Most people are honest and the ones who aren't will figure out how to get around the licensing restrictions anyway..

We appreciate your comment and honesty, as a matter of fact the license can be used as a multi-user on a single computer not only used by one user on same computer machine.

Furthermore, we considered your opinion to make the license works on 2 computers so we agree and we changed the EULA just for bitsdujour users and purchasers will get 2 licenses per each purchase so they can use it on two different computers :).

CL Looks like I have the same problem as Jos Andries aand MSWallack! I just tried to buy one (1) license. Was able to get up to logging into Paypal account ($21.22). But when I click on the "Continue to Pay" button (in PayPal page) I am redirected back to your purchase page (with the "Buy Now" button). I did this twice ("Buy now") and each time it directed me to PayPal ("Continue to Pay") and Paypal redirect me back to you ("Buy now"). I now don't know if I have made 2 purchases?? or no purchase? Please help.

Terry User Nice Add-In. Downloaded and checked out the trial, then had to purchase. Adds a great deal of functionality to Excel, and makes a lot of things easier to use or do.

Too bad it doesn't also work with SoftMaker Office (PlanMaker), which I actually use more than Excel.

Sara User Could somebody list the differences between ASAP Utilities (free, but only for strictly private use) and Dose for Excel? In other words, what functionality Dose has above the one of its competitor? Gary User I purchased the 3 license pack - after completing the purchase a screen popped up confirming my purchase of the 3 licenses, but it had only one license number. Assuming that one license was for all 3 copies, I installed the trial version on a computer, then attempted to register the product with the one license. The registration fails with a message stating "Serial Number is not Valid" I also received an email claiming the same "serial number" is for registering my product.

Gary User I don't think the compare sheet feature works. I created a copy of a worksheet, then changed one number in one column, then tried the compare function. all it created was a new workbook with two entirely blank worksheets. No indication whatsoever of the differences.

We have tested the 'Compare Sheets' feature many time just now and it is working very well, please follow the steps as below to use it:

- Click on 'Browse' for old sheet to select your file and then select the sheet you want to compare.
- Click on 'Browse' for new sheet to select your file and then select the sheet you want to compare.
- Choose one of comparison types (Based on Column or Peer to Peer) depends on your needs.
- Check 'Insert Comments to show updated data' so you can see the changes and old values will be inserted into comments.
- Pick colors for 'Update', 'New', 'Removed' so you can differentiate between them easily in the results comparison sheet.
- Press on 'Apply'.

I have tried both of " dose foe excel" & "asap"
first of I preferred dose over asap because:
1. most of asap features already excel can do it ( nothing new)
2. dose provides new features which r useful for us as a regular excel user
3. once before I was communicating with dose support team to solve a problem I had .... during solving my issue I suggested to add one featured that I really needed ...... soooo I was shocked of their fast response to make my dream come true .... when they released the new version with my added features they sent a thankful e-mail including 4 extra free licenses

eventually me as an excel user I prefer that every thing well organized on the screen as dose features .. when I used asap I was confused by huge lists and each list includes another lists which wastes my time

last thing I love to purchase a software that I can communicate with their support team smoothly

Sara User 3 things:

- I suppose that Gary will not look here for this promotion anymore, but I would have asked where the differences between Dose (which is regularly on offer here) and Kutools (which is never on offer here, so the "net asking price" is much higher) are.

(Not only but also because it's of interest to hear the reasons why somebody owning one also buys the other, so there seem to be differences. Unfortunately, in the web, there is lots of general wording for any of those add-ins, each said to be very useful, but I've never found a comparison of them.)

- Re Gary's misfortune: Such is really to be expected when you buy several licenses thru a coupon page since it's additional code popped upon the original payment code, so such cases simply cannot be correctly handled in all cases. When I bought several licenses in the past, I avoided such problems (ie not getting the same amount of license codes) by simply making several buys in a row, each with distinct payment.

- @Peter: I had hoped for some specifics. I see you created your account just today; without giving specifics, that does not seem too much worthwhile? (If I was a developer, I KNEW what my software did over free contenders, and I'd be happy to list those functionalities.) But thank you anyway!

Gary User I got a refund for my first purchase because the serial number could not be registered. I then made a second purchase to see if a new serial number would work. It did not. I sent the developer a screen shot of the second serial number entered in the registration form along with the "not valid" popup. The developer replied that Share-it had not included the last two characters in my serial number (which apparently was the problem with the first serial number as well.) Adding the two additional characters given to me by the developer fixed the problem.

Sara User Updates included, ready-made formulas (I don't need many...), "Row-to-column" (i.e. what in a database frontend would be "record view" vs "table view") very welcome e.g. for users who use Excel as a basic database (which isn't systematically a bad idea since Excel offers calculations, too, and that often comes as a helpful combination), and then "Worksheet Compare" could be helpful it seems...

"Cell Format": "Create your own cell format templates" - unfortunately, this seems to only comprise graphical formatting, not a solution to that endless Excel nuisance text-number ("You formatted numbers like text", blah blah) which regularly arises when you WANT to get numbers just like any other text in some column and then insert new rows or move other rows around: often fiddling with the respective Excel commands often does not resolve the problem then, so I'd warmly welcome a solution to that recurring (for me) Excel patronizing.

Btw, if even on a powerful, modern computer, you always get problems with failing screen updating after such row moves, etc., even have to close down the workbook, reopen it... in order to get the worksheet correctly updated, just switch off (!) the default ("on") Excel setting for "hardware acceleration", and you're done with.

So one of my two everlasting problems with newer Excel versions (in my case 2016 vs old 2003 where you just could use a leading " (no typo)) is resolved, while the other is not; perhaps Dose could look into the latter and implement some smart way of avoiding it or putting it straight with one click for all of the numerous cells that come with MS reprimands?

I have two licenses purchased through your prior BDJ deal on 11/29/2017, not quite one year ago. Over the past few months both installations have stopped working and now show a dialog with the "Thanks for trying Dose, please purchase" message when starting Excel. Can you tell me why that would happen in both instances? The only thing I can think of is recent Windows10 updates somehow change the hardware footprint analysis causing a mismatch. How can I reinstate these licenses?

Yes you can have both of them installed and appears at Excel ribbon. You can also install the Dose for Excel before purchasing to make sure it will be at ribbon besides kutools or any other installed add-ins.

Ed Ward Believe (i) links to navigate sheets and (ii) ability to insert checkboxes will be useful but won't know for sure until I try it out. Often the choice between similar software comes down to usability, which requires using for a while. At this price I'm willing to purchase so that I can try it out when the need arises. I agree that a side-by-side comparison would be useful, or at least a list of features that competitors don't offer. BDJ would be even more useful if it encouraged, perhaps even required developers to provide.

bvssunnydale No matter how good it might be - and it might be great [I'm certainly not an Excel expert so wouldn't know how to tell] - the installation on a single computer license makes the license too restrictive to consider purchasing Dose. If it were "by user" instead of "single computer" I would consider it (everyone I know has at two, if not three, computers these days - home, work, laptop). I realize the programmer has to make a living but he/she could consider either a "by user" option or a multiple cpu license. Most people are honest and the ones who aren't will figure out how to get around the licensing restrictions anyway..

Mitchell User I tested this program today and I love it. I just scratched the surfacce and I love it. For eight bucks? give me a break. It has a file lister tool that is just awesome. You open the tool, you navigate to the directory, and bam. All the the information from the files in the directory are uploaded to Excel. With hyperlinks including ones to open and delete selected files. Tagging? OMG. Just create another column of tag values and tag to your heart's content. Alas the sheet is a snap shot of the directory when the data was uploaded. It would be nice to refresh the sheet. But since taking the snap shot is so fast, who cares provided that the previously created records of files with tags remain. Still even without tagging just a great tool for me.

Transforming text to columns is a nightmare in Excel. Why because if you specify a delimiter and there is more than one in a cell, you get as many columns as there are delimiters. Dose solves the problem by allowiing you to specify which delimiter triggers the column split. Invaluable for my niche use.

Purchasing may have been problematical before. Not any more. My registration code appeared immediately on the MyCommerce receipt screen after the purchase was completed. Simply pasted it into the dialogue box and I was registered.

njf I am trying the trial version first. Using the Files Lister, it looks like you can only do one folder and cannot select to include any subfolders. Is that right?

Also, there does not seem the ability to Undo a files listing. Is that right?

Lastly, according to the license terms, you can only transfer to a new computer 3 times even though this is a lifetime product.

Yossi User Which versions of Excel are Supported?

Can Dose help with writing formulae and/or functions in Excel? Nested IF statements, for example, can be very confusing; I would find a simplified editor for that to be very useful.

What about creating menus to use instead of ribbons? Custom toolbars?

If it can do those things, I'll buy it.

Friend sent me his excel file, for me to debug.
I was hoping he had used VBA (which I could fumble through and debug)
HOWEVER it is using a formula (no VBA)

Yes, you can add any Dose for Excel features to a specified "Favorites" ribbon DDL which is by default exists in "DOSE" tab, and also you can use Dose settings to show this "Favorites" DDL in the "Home" tab also.

Regarding plans for Mac version, unfortunately we do not have any in the future for now.

Regarding moving the license from one machine to another, you need only to send support

zbrainsoft.com an email asking for that using your email address you used in the purchasing process or include the order number, and we will reset your license key so you can use it on another computer.

I was having same problems with PayPal. After a couple of attempts, I end up purchasing the software using my credit card. I hope I was not charged multiple times. I have purchased 2 licenses, however still have not received 2 additional promotional licenses. I believe the deal was that we would get two additional licenses for free right? Sorry for the delay, we used to send the extra license key manually so that's why it takes some time since we are overloaded. While the first license key is sent automatically upon purchasing. Anyway we already sent you the extra license.

NOTE: Each license can be used only on one computer, and you can transfer it to another whenever you want by sending us an email.

Rick Tibbitts I bought Dose for Excel back on April 25. It indicated because of the promotion that a separate email with the license key would be emailed. I did receive an email with a license key, but that key does not work to register the application that is looking for a serial number. No serial number has been provided and I've tried emailing support

zbrainsoft.com and receive a bounce back saying their in box is full. I've now emailed the sales department three times without response. I purchased this software nearly 3 weeks ago and still can't use it. If I don't hear from Zbransoft by tomorrow I'll contact me credit card company and cancel the purchase. I have plenty of documentation to support my claim.

Also, I didn't get a copy of my second license. Please included this when/if you reply.

The receipt email you received contained only that notification that the vendor will send you the registration information. Or did you receive an actual license key as you mentioned in your comment?

What do you mean by a "second license"? I only see one purchase for this product in your Purchases page:

Or are you referring to the actual license key which the vendor should send you?

I just emailed the vendor to help in this case.

Rick Tibbitts I did receive a license key, but the key did not work. I suspect this was because the process of receiving a license under this special promotion was a manual process instead of the automatic process normally used. I'd guess that however the license number was provided to me, that somehow the key was not added to the list of valid keys on the Dose server.

Having said that, I did receive a follow up email from support and they quickly resolved the issue. I'm now using Dose for Excel and am very please with it. Thanks support for your help!

a) I cannot even run the demo on my MS Office 2007 or so at home
