Pedro Laurent I have a serious question about WinSettings Pro, I want to know what you guys consider minor update with your software? I am asking that cause you guys refuse to provide me a link to download the latest build even after providing Avangate reference number as proof of purchased for WinSettings Pro 10 it's obvious that minor updates falls within version 10 of the program... I also purchased FileStream SafeShield and when I check for update within the program it tells me there is an update and when I click on the link it takes me to your website to download the trial version after searching the website you guys don't provide any links for updates. Email support leave a lot to be desired, it's like non existent.

FileStream has been established on Long Island in New York since 1988, This is our 24th anniversary. We always respond quickly to support e-mails. Support e-mail address is support

filestream.com. Should you have sent any e-mail and not getting response from us, please forward it to support address and we will definitely investigate it.

Separately, we issue a new version number only when there is major change, such as from version 9 to version 10. When the changes are minor, it is represented by a sub number like 10.1, 10.70 (current version of WinSettings Pro). Sub version updates are always free, which can be accessed via the Check Update private link from within the program, same password applies. SafeShield has not had any updates release so I am not clear what you are referring to. If you can send support the private Check Update link from your registered version of SafeShield, support team will be happy to look into any reported problem.

Steven Avery Hi,

I will point out that FileStream sold on a special in Feb of this year version 8.1 inexpensively .. so the numbers are going up quickly. I did keep the Filestream file that corresponds to that purchase and just reinstalled it (around March I had a fresh OS resinstall).

When I load it, there is no place to enter the serial#. And one place takes me to a $49.95 purchase, "continue" makes that a $19.95 purchase

And Checking update leads to :

"Welcome to FileStream Online Update!
You are currently using WinSettings version 8.1 build 002061211.
This is the latest version and build."

All very curious. Plus I have no method to enter my existing Serial Number.

Joe Miller Hi Steven, Thank you for your post. The 8.1 is the version number for WinSettings, which is a separate product from WinSettings Pro, which has been in version 10 for quite a while. As a matter of fact, right now it is in version 10.70 (note the sub number is not always consecutive. The installer of our registered version and trial version are always different files. One cannot be converted to the other. There is always the Check Update link within our programs. Click that will take you to your private check update site and will have update link when new build is available. To summarize, for the two software, the current version for WinSettings is 8.1 and for WinSettings Pro is 10.70.

This does not answer the question of why I am unable to actually register WinSettings 8.1, which I purchased and have a serial # for, today.

If there is no way to do this (afaik, I downloaded the proper file at the time and it did actually register) ... if you do not make available a good file to match my serial # purchased that can actually be run as a non-trial:

I will strongly recommend that Bits Du Jour NOT do any further business with your company, on any product.

Steven Avery Hi,

Ok, it is unusual to use TrialPay as an installer comparny.

However, the url on the email still did work, and the download of the installer-capable file worked, and the, serial number took on the install. So all is ok, working with the saved email.
