If you're like us, you've got many, many different files distributed amongst many, many different folders. More importantly, if you're like us, you're sick and tired of having to expand the same confused, ever-growing multi-level tree structure to access your favorite files and applications.

So, if you're like us, Handy Folders is for you! This super-functional application lets you create a list of your favorite folders similar to the way you would in an Internet browser - except you can expand Handy Folders to encompass folders, files, disks on your PC or LAN, or even pre-defined folders on FTP or websites.

You can access Handy Folders in several different ways: from a new customizable toolbar embedded in the Windows Explorer, from any Open/Save dialog, from a system tray icon, or from a specified hot key.

K H I love this little program. I no longer have to click, click, scroll, click, scroll, click, etc., etc. just to find what I'm looking for. Now I just, click, click. There are many similar programs out there but I knew I'd found the perfect one when I discovered that it consistently opens the folder I'm looking for in the view I prefer . All the others I tried would only open a folder in the view that you get when you click on the My Documents folder, overriding my Internet Explorer settings and forcing me to reset them. What a pain.

When I first installed Handy Folders, I was disenchanted with the space it took up, but the developer told me how to cut it down to size and now I've just got this little icon that takes hardly any room at all. It's one of those little things that make my computing life easier, and happier.

Boris Yeltsin Hello.

What is the price for future updates, and how is it handled?

Thank you.

Bob Criswell I've had this program for a while and it's one that I use a lot. K H describes quite well the annoyance it solves. I also hated having to drill deep down into my file structure...Drive\folder\subfolder\subfolder\subfolder\subfolder.....If it's a folder I go into a lot I just save it as a favorite and it's so convenient to get to from Windows explorer or a program's Save dialog box. I would hate to be without this.

Bob S Hi, I've used Filebox eXtender in the past, and have been very please with it. However, I recently adopted xplorer2 as a replacement for MS Explorer, and it doesn't appear to work w/ xplorer2. I am also evaluating Directory Opus as a replacement for Explorer (which I believe FBX does work with).

Two questions:
1. Can you tell if Handy Folder will work with either xplorer2 or Directory Opus?
2. Any comparisons to Filebox Extender would be helpful...

I agree w/ the other posts - a program like this is indispensable - having used one for a while, you wonder how you ever did without it.

Kelly Hamblin That's me up there in 2009 posedt as KH. Just wanted to jump in and say I haven't changed my mind about Handy Folders. Still one of my all-time favorite apps for keeping my computer life frustration free.

Like Bob S, I do use other file managers, but with Handy Folders, I don't have to even think about that. It matters not one whit, whether it integrates into another file manager or not.

$19.95 is a very nice price.
