Bill Blackledge Picking up on previous comments. This is one bit of software that we would really struggle without.
Main use for us is: Save a file (e.g. a screenshot or other image) in a specific project folder. Load Graphics processing software, Open File dialog > Listary buttons > Recent > jump to folder where image was just saved. This happens easily 10-20 times a day. If I had to navigate from scratch every time, I would go mad.
Just about to buy a new licence for a new member of staff, so I'm glad that the offer has popped up today.

Robert Crombie I am not happy with the Launcher-
1) It emphasizes the file name. Instead I want the emphasis on the folder location
2) I wish the launcher to be much longer (so I see more of the path). I am happy for it to be much more to the left (and LONGER)

BrianS I've been using this utility for several years now. It's a tremendous time saver. It helps you find and get to files and folders quickly from within any file explorer such as Windows File Explorer and XYplorer by searching keywords in the filename instantaneously as you type. Also searches multiple keywords found anywhere in a filename or folder name. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Brent Price After downloading the demo it took about 20 seconds to realize that I was buying this.. probably not even that long! Tap a button twice and a search bar comes up.. type a letter or two and it's already finding what you're looking for.. great program guys!! Would recommend to everyone who has a computer.. save plenty of time trying to find something on their computer.. Listery Pro is great..

I purchased Pro last night. Maybe it's just me, nobody else has raised these issues (1 solved after searching through past comments) and I have some concerns that others have raised.

1. I downloaded the software from the receipt link (I think you've fixed the incorrect version number in the email) and installed it, no problem (v. 6.0.10.33). I copied the 6 row registration key but could not figure out how to bring the program up to paste it. I just kept getting the "already running in the background" msg. Nothing in the email and nothing at the website. I went back and reviewed the Fine Print. It states no registration is needed, which didn't make sense. After searching through old comments I finally found one that stated it runs from the Task Tray and just right click and go from there. Perfect, perhaps others have sware that only runs from the TT but not me. A few lines of instructions would have saved a ton of time. So, to jump ahead, I found where the Reg Key goes which means the Fine Print needs an edit but I've not entered it yet.

2. Before finding out abt the TT location, I went through a bunch of posts on their website and here and whoever released the latest update and a good number of them beforehand, is almost certainly not Channing Dai, the original developer. His last post here was in 2019, last post there in 2020 while v6 was still in beta (after 2 yrs). Posts in the Discussion group from yesterday are expressing concern of a hack due to no communication from Channing and Chinese only post/msg. Hack doesn't seem likely. Who hacks and releases updates. More likely he sold it. But it would be very helpful to know who we and you are dealing with. Transparency on Bits concerning developers has improved greatly (in my exp.) over the yrs but no transparency in this case is a concern. What do you know as far as the company still being "legit" as expressed further down below by someone posting in the Listary discussion group? The concerns may be unfounded but any clarification would be helpful. Usually I pre-check this stuff prior to purchase but not this time. The 30-days is there but I've never had to b4 and would prefer not starting now.

3. If anybody gets this far, a heads-up concerning the 6.10 release. There are a couple posts on their discussion site citing problems (I haven't read the details yet) with some aspects of it and they rolled their installs back to 6.09. I can't find a release history or previous versions links so that may not be possible for new purchasers. "Support" isn't now, and apparently hasn't been responsive at all to any requests for a very, very long time but sometimes there are responses from users.

Following is a paste of the two latest (yesterday, 2 Nov) posts with their (and my) concerns. If it's under legit new ownership, no problem, but confirmation and more info abt it should and needs to be, available:

I am a HUGE Listary fan, and I want to believe, but I am very skeptical that these recent updates and posts are actually by Channing. I think it’s more likely someone else has taken over Channing’s account, which leaves me gun-shy to download any new updates at this point. Here’s my rationale:

Why are posts only being offered in Chinese, when Channing always participated in English on the discussion board as well?
Why are there no recent posts related to this new v6 development on either of the official Twitter accounts associated with Listary?

No one would be more thrilled than me about a re-emergence of development on Listary by Channing…I sing this software’s praises every chance I get! But for now I’m taking a “wait and see” approach until there’s more evidence that this is legit.

@Channing, if you’re reading this, please provide us with more evidence that your identity has not been stolen. This could be done with posts to the two Twitter accounts, which likely have different security credentials.

Crossing my fingers and hoping this is for real!

Kenneth Bates I don't know what I have done wrong but all I got was a free version. Absolutely basic presentation and none of the usual headings or way to enter the six lines of activation key. Seeing that nobody else has commented on this, I feel rather short-changed, having paid for a "PRO" version.

jckinswo Kenneth Bates see #1 in my comment 2nd up from yours (jckinswo). Same experience but I figured it out, finally. It's in the Task Tray. Right click on it's icon and select Upgrade to Lis Pro. Fill name/email and paste the reg key from your receipt. No instructions in either the receipt or on Listary website. Tech Support literally does not exist so don't waste your time emailing. If you have problems, post in their discussion group. People seem to respond and try to help.

Ed @Kenneth, you need to plug-in your registration information in the options area. Rt click the Listary icon in the system tray and select "Options".

No worries, it's definitely me :) Listary is being actively developed now and we're hiring a remote dev to make it faster (the to-do list is so long). I'll post more about this on the forum later today.

I did not receive a license key for the product.
With my new account, i tried the link you sent me to my email address.
The link to get a new license key doen't work and I still haven't received anything.
The program remains in "free" version.

Johnny User I've been a paid user since 2022, and I use the program every day- both at home and at work. It's one of those utilities whose functionality becomes integral to your daily activities, especially if you either (a) oversee a large number of files, particularly with similar naming across widespread areas [work] or (b) hoard a large number of files [home media collection]. I was almost immediately hooked- by the convenience of double-tapping CTRL and entering a search. This program is easily the closest replacement to Google's discontinued desktop search, that I've EVER found, and I've tried them all in vain. Add to that, this program has better configuration options than Google desktop search ever had, and it's a real winner! The author has told me he's working on the ability to search WITHIN files, which for me, will be an absolute home-run feature! If that day comes, I may well buy the program a second time, simply as a show of support! But even as-is, I use it -every- day.
