Ryan Leverington Software Note: You can use Scraped Proxy from ProxyBeast in pretty much any other software program that requires Working Proxies. E.g Scrapebox, Xrumer, Ubot, Market Samurai, WpRobot etc etc.

Its not a Proxy Switcher as such, but more of an extremely fast proxy scraper and verifier all in one. In which you can get proxies emailed to you at a set interval, Or saved to a text file etc. So you've always got Fresh, Working, Filtered Proxies for whatever your needs may be.

Stefan Hauber Not too familiar with this proxy-issue, I some times ago installed TOR and had two issues with it:

1) Every time I land inside another country. I really would like e.g. to be able to define I want to be seen as being in the USA

2) After some (undefined) time it switches to another proxy, so it might be confusing for the resulting page, to identify you. E.g. when buying something it needs some time to enter your customer datas and if the proxy in the meantime changes, some security-mechanisms might fail and you are declined because of this.

Can ProxyBeast handle these issues in a better way?

Chris If this doesn't change your proxy then how do we change it as I have no idea. I do have 2 programs that automatically change my IP to other countries, etc.

I checked out your site and all I could do there is scroll down the main page. If I clicked the banner I got a popup asking me if I wanted to leave or stay. If I stayed it gave me a $10 off coupon code which is 99F63198

Then I clicked the banner again and got the popup again and I stayed again and got to a page to download a trial after I entered my name and email. I then clicked download and it went back to the main page and the download never started.

Jerry S Noggin Nog, there are many reasons to use proxies, the foremost probably being the right to remain anonymous. There are many instances where a person wants to keep their identity hidden, such as (in the United States) whisteblowers, engaging in criticism of the government, not being tracked by overly-intrusive or dishonest website operators and so forth. In the United States this right is protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution. In many other nations or when communicating with those in such nations (like China, Cuba and all too many others), you want to use proxies to hide yourself from governments that permit no freedom of expression. There are numerous other legitimate uses as well.

Can proxies be misused in the sense of violating laws? Sure. But automobiles, for example, can be used in the commission of crimes as well - but no one complains about them being offered for sale.

I, for one, am looking forward to this product and hope it delivers on its promises.

Yfor I bought the software but all I got in return was a PayPal receipt by email and a link to Cash Legion (whatever that is) that will not recognize the user/password I just entered. What does Cash Legion has to do with Proxybeast? Regardless of your answer, how do you expect people to understand those things when searching the knowledgebase in that "support" site for "Proxybeast" doesn't return a single result? And most importantly, where (and when) do I get the license for the software I just bought?

Ryan Leverington The last Major Release was Back in July.
We have tweaked it a few times since, But we feel its now perfect.
We take onboard all comments/feature requests, So if there are any good idea, we'll get to work and Update the software.

I can't personally recommend any Proxy Switcher, as its down to personal choice really. At the end of the day, its the Proxy Quality that Counts :)

ProxyAddict Bought the tool, ran it for 15 minutes, got about 11k proxies. Upon checking, only got 70 live proxies, the results did not even check for the types of proxy. The tool stopped working even though there are 10 more proxies to check. Anyway the quality of the scraped proxies did not really work at all. I ran it a few more times, the same time happens, it just would not check the proxy types and I am getting only about 1% live proxies. Anyone else getting such results?

Feeling very disappointed right now. :(

Another thing, what's a little odd is, that the S/N is asked for every time PB is starting. OK, checking 'Remember me' remembers it, but why this field opens up every time nevertheless. I'm wondering why anyone should want to change the S/N after having entered it the first time...

S B If I understand correctly, and please correct me, proxies
1) do mask the IP address from the browsed web site
2) do not encrypt traffic through the ISP
3) do allow access to web sites as if coming from other countries or locations
4) do not mask the "browser/font/etc. fingerprint" which can almost uniquely identify many users.

I suppose that availability, latency, and bandwidth through a proxy are three of the most important proxy characteristics.

Are there guidelines for choosing proxies?

Is there a good way to check the "quality" of a proxy?

Results?
Total Proxies: 45718
Checked Proxies: 45389
Dead proxies: 44729
Live proxies (all speeds): 375

While scanning, Avast Home 8 would block malicious URL's... We should be safe here? I hope :s

Sorting the list is a pain in the ass. With over 40k items, it's too much for the program to handle. An option to hide all dead proxies would be great, if only for quick sort of the result list.

Type proxies ARE NOT DETECTED!! This is a real bummer, all proxy types are set to blank What gives??

I got 6 UK proxies. 36 USA. Rest are many more countries. No system there ;p One thing that stood out are the amount of Chines servers (slow or not). Also I see many scary countries like Iran or Pakistan. BE CAREFUL what data you send through their systems! One can only suspect all data being ripped ;p

Am I happy? Yeah, more or less I guess. It's better than hunting down proxy-list websites (which offer the same functionality).

ONE thing I really miss is that there is no mention of the type of proxy. Socks 4/5? SSL? Please tell us more? :)

For the price, I think I like it. For $60 I'd feel ripped of ;p

Chris OK, I purchased this and have a few questions now since they all weren't answered in my original question.

Now that I have the program, how can I use the proxies that it finds? I don't use Firefox, only Chrome.

Also, I have done a 500 URL scrape 3 times and the first time it found 2 good URLs, 2nd time it found none, and 3rd time it found 17 live, but most were poor speed. Do I need to scrape more, like 5000?

Next, I noticed that it never checks all of the URLs that it finds. The first 2 times it never checked the last 2 and the third time it isn't checking the last 3. I do have to click stop checking in order to do anything else.

And, how do we check for updates? Do we get an email from you or does the program have it hid somewhere?

Also, why is the program portable and not installable?

Chris Roy Jackson I have downloaded the TRIAL Version. Upon Execution I discovered that I was NOT installing, but that the program is running.
SO... I amsearching ... so far there are over 37,000 Proxies found.
I originally thought that this program searched for And USED available Proxy servers.
After seeing this "Demo" version in action it LOOKS like it simply Locates (and Checks the specified characteristics of) Proxy Servers that are openly available without required Logins.
It ALSO appears that!!! Is that correct ???

Suggestions:
IF "Proxy Beast" is NOT a "Proxy Client", that would be my suggestion for an upcoming version: that you inlude the function of a Proxy Client capable of USING the lists generated by the "Scraping" portion of the program. ALSO, As an enhancement to that functionality, i suggest that it have the capability of Rotating through the Servers listed in a specified list according to user specified time frequency and schedule.
An added benefit would be the capability to load (pre-set) configurations (from a "config file") "on-the-fly".

George Butel Your site refers to a "founder's edition," but the link from BDJ doesn't say anything about that. Does the version purchased via BDJ also include lifetime upgrades and support? I see that you think that "But we feel its now perfect"--but, knowing Windows, I'm sure that bugs will eventually appear. I have no need for anonymity, but I'm thinking that, you never know, and it is cheaper than the monthly rentals. Is this something that's obvious how to use for someone who's never used such things?

For Chrome.... (V25)
(Win 7)

You have to set your system wide settings via your Windows Internet settings in order to use a proxy with Chrome.

Access your Chrome Settings screen and click on "Show Advanced Settings." (For V25 this is accessed through the list via the 3 lines icon on the far right upper corner)

Then click on "Change Proxy Settings" button under the Network section.

This will bring up the Connections settings for Windows.

Click on the "LAN Settings"

Check the box under Proxy server and enter the proxy info.

Click "OK"

Click "OK"

And then you should be good to go.

Chrome does not have an easier way to enter the proxy, like Firefox does, and so you have to enter the proxy via Windows main Internet settings.

Hope this helps.

P.S. You can modify advanced proxy settings by clicking the “Advanced” button in the LAN Settings window. The advanced settings dialog allows you to specify different proxy servers for different Web protocols or add exceptions, sites for which your system bypasses the proxy.

George Butel Wow. I never got this before. Chrome says that the zip file "is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous," and the default setting on the file in the download bar was "discard." You have to be proactive to try and get the file. My normally overprotective Norton, however, did not give a peep, and Norton's "Insight Scan" gave it the okay. Uploading the zip file to one of the online antivirus scanners, Clamav, gave this: "Possibly Unwanted Application. While not necessarily malicious, the scanned file presents certain characteristics which depending on the user policies and environment may or may not represent a threat."
You might consider letting your customers know that the installer might be regarded by some programs as ~iffy.
I forgot to ask: I do regular reinstalls of Windows from scratch, on the same machine, though. Am I going to have a problem re-activating the program on a fresh install?

Ryan Leverington Why are some of you proposing that were fraudulent? And supply software that contains malware etc?

This is NOT the case, EVER.

Not only do we code everything 100% Unique, Test it, and Provide thousands with the software, but BitsDuJour have also tested it. Without any fault, or Malware, Spyware etc.

Anti-Virus', Malware Scanners etc, Almost Always bring up false positives, Or software they've never seen before. This is very common.

Trust me when i say, All our software is 100% safe.

Finally @ George, If you keep reinstalling, you will have a problem, as this is locked to the hardware ID, etc. Id suggest installing it on a Computer you use regularly, without interuption.

Glenda Keeler I am getting VERRRRY upset!!! I cannot set up my software, and if you look at my ticket at cash legion support, you'll see why!!! I am NOT getting any help from the help desk at the cash legion support desk!!! They just blow me off, saying to look at my manual! I HAVE, and my software looks NOTHING like my program!!! George Butel If your program looks for a hardware ID, then there should be no problem. Sony's programs do the same thing (Sound Forge and Vegas), and I have no problem reinstalling them, since they "know" (or Sony's servers "know") that it's the same machine. I'm thinking, though, that I should probably disconnect all my external devices whenever I install a program like that, though, which I had never thought about before. If I have, say, my Hitachi HDD attached when I install, and then a different HDD attached, will the hardware ID be different, or do the external devices not affect the hardware ID?

Louis H Ryan... I did not take George's post to suggest your program WAS a problem. I read his post as letting you know that SOME programs might give a false positive.

Perhaps you are tired and frustrated with people who are suggesting that you might be trying to scam them because they have, for whatever reason, continued to have problems getting the program up and running?

I cannot speak to the problems some folks are having, but I can repeat that I had absolutely NO problems getting my serial number, and the full program up and running very quickly.... and the instructions were very clear as to what I needed to do.

Glenda.... would you be willing to share step by step what you have tried to do in order to get the full copy of the program and your serial number? I would be happy to step through the complete process I followed in order to get things up and running for me. (I have no connection to the vendor, simply offering any assistance I might be. I know how frustrating it can be to feel you are getting nowhere with your efforts. So maybe a third party with no horse in the race might be of help? At minimum it could serve as an independent observer that you have followed all the steps you were given to follow.)

Are you using the "Demo" versiuon ??? Or did you download the "Current Version" (which Link [I assume] should have been emailed to you with your Serial # info after Purchase) ???
As I understand (I cannot say from experience, because I have NOT YET Purchased) the DEMO is a Limited AND OLDER Version of the Program !!! I don't think the "User Manual" Would match it !! I would THINLK that the "User Manual" would match the "Current Version" !!!

I haven't used the demo since I installed the current one, but it might make a difference. But the manual and my program pictures don't match at all! I sent screen shots of both to the support page.

R Master Disappointed with sign up problems for this software. I tried twice to buy this, got a screen with a logo and a discount code and nothing else - no link or button to click or instructions how to proceed. Had to go pick someone up and tried again when I got back, using different browser - this time it worked but now no discount - since just a few minutes after midnight! PayPal is such a mess I stopped using them years ago, now this is another example of how poor their gateway is- now lost a sale :(

Your having the demo still installed should NOT interfere (or make a difference) since it was NOT ACTUALLY Installed, just run from a directory on your Hard Drive (therefore NO Registry Entries). Only ONE Possible way that it MAY affect is if there is some remnant of the Demo in MEMORY !!! If you have re-booted your computer after "running" the demo, that should NOT be an issue.
I have just purchased and will be running the Current version after I finish these posts and Install it. I'll let you know what My Experience is in about an hour (by 6:45 am [or so] Eastern Time).

What Browser are you using (IE 9, or whatever)??
Do you tend to "right-Click) on the "Buy" button and select to open in a new Tab (or Window) ???
I'm using IE9 and I typically (tend to "right-Click) on the "Buy" button and select to open in a new Tab... When I did on THIS offer, I saw the same result that you are describing. When I "Clicked" ("left-Click) on the button it popped up a "Shadow 'pop-up' Window that had a discount code and the appropriate continue Link (or button [I don't remember]) to take me through the order process.

I made my Payment here (Again) by PayPal without ANY Trouble.

To ALL who may NOT be aware, if you "surf" using a "Proxy", you MUST exclude *.PayPal.com from going through the Proxy. It is against their "Terms & Conditions" to access their site Through a Proxy.
FYI: The ONLY Times that I EVER had a problem using PayPal (other than when their was a problem on my computer) was using a Proxy... I kept getting temporarily suspended, and then I would have to "jump through a few Hoops" in order to resume "normal account operations".

I sent a PM to your "other" mailbox on Facebook. You can access your "Other" PM mailbox by going to your messages and selecting the "Other" link at the top - right next to the "Inbox" link. This is FB's way of filtering out what might be spam. As Chris mentions above, the demo folder should not usually be a problem, but there may indeed be something hanging out in memory, or your registry, so I would suggest going ahead and deleting that folder to see if it makes any difference. I deleted the demo folder on my machine before running the full program. fwiw.

Mr Macro Hi Ryan, the fine print states "Each license allows installation on a single computer and a laptop, but Proxy Beast may not be used at exactly the same time on each of them."

But when I try to run the software on my laptop (where it is actually required) I get the following error "serial is registered to other computer or banned. Please contact support if you think this is error".

When I try to open up a support call, it jumps to a site called Ca$hLegion - is this correct? Should I register on this site and open a support request. There is nothing listed in the knowledge base and no references to the Proxy Beast website or product.

I cannot speak to the "customer support" issues, as I have nothing to do with the vendor. What I would like to now, however, is what are the actual problems you are having with the software itself?

What were you expecting it to be and/or do for you?

It would helpful for others if you could be a bit clearer in describing your concerns with the program as this may come up again in the future for another discount and folks who might not check out other sites might be able to benefit from understanding what your actual concerns about the program are/were.

ProxyAddict Hi Louis,

After watching the demo video, I was sold on the idea that we can have a good amount of live proxy to work on just by using tool. Well, after trying for a good number of times, all I got was very little amount of live proxies. I logged a support and the only reply I got was as below:

If you just run through the User manual, it will show you how to add more sources. This can dramatically increase the number of proxies found that are working.

If I am expected to crawl and source for our own proxy source, then I would have been better off using Scrapebox which scrape and test proxies without getting the user involved. IMO, this is obviously a case of what you see is NOT what you get. Anyway Ryan has not been responding to this thread or support ticket for a week now which prompted me to file a dispute with Paypal.

I hope you have had better experience with this tool so far.

I just posted a support ticket requesting that information (which is NOT included in the very limited "User Guide"), but based upon what you have been saying, I am NOT optomistic about receiving a reply anytime soon.
Any info that you can offer would be appreciated! I have "viewed" the file, but since I am NOT a "PHP" Coder, I have very little understanding of its meaning.

My final verdict is still in process of being determined.

My own experience is that some days I get a larger quantity of results than others, but there is currently no rhyme or reason as to why, at least that I have been able to discern.

It is my opinion, by the way, that it is definitely not worth full price for what it has produced in terms of live proxies.

And I am hearing that other folks who do have questions are getting the same type of standard response from the vendor...'read the manual.'

Well... unless the manual has been revised in the past week, the manual you get with the product is for a different version. The images are NOT the same as the product I downloaded. Glenda K can attest to that as well. And it does NOT cover/explain all of the features of the version I downloaded after purchase.

I try to give a vendor the benefit of the doubt, but I am leaning more towards this particular vendor being one who is not willing/able to take the time, for whatever reasons, to help interpret the manual/program for those who are having trouble with it... or who need a bit more specific info than the very basic manual provides.

While I make no comment/judgement on the vendor as an individual, outside of his role as vendor, such a repeated response (or lack thereof) to customers with concerns does not make good business sense. Nor does it lend itself to a favorable view of the vendor as a vendor.

It won't scrape a single proxy, and does ablsolutely NOTHING! I got NO help from Ryan at support, all he said was read the manual, and has not replied to any more of my support requests since! Anyone else, DO NOT buy this program, you will be getting ripped off!!! I may also go to the Better Business bureau, and whoever else necessary over this POS and its owner/seller!!! And Ryan, I have saved and documented EVERYTHING, so no bother trying to delete this comment! From one very angry and cheated consumer!!!

Louis H It is depressing that the vendor has not demonstrated a willingness to take time to go beyond telling folks to "read the manual." It is my understanding that the program, according to some, works as advertised, but it may require a level of skill that some may not have at their ready access. A simple step by step process, which currently is not provided anywhere online that I have been able to find, might be very beneficial.

I went ahead and purchased the program as I intend to expand my understanding of using proxies... right now, however, a few things have arisen that require I put off such learning, otherwise I would do my best to help others figure out the parts of this that are not intuitive for those of us with questions.

Is there anyone reading these comments who would be willing to more fully explain how to set up the php file with a webhost? That is the piece that seems to perhaps be causing some of the problems folks are having..... and to continually have the vendor tell people to read a manual that is not all that helpful beyond the very basic steps of setting the program up is not going to get those questions answered.

Anyone?

Glenda Keeler @Louis H......I can ASSURE you, my skill level is just fine, thank you! My demo scraped the proxies with NO problem, however, being it was a demo, I was not able to use them. I AM using this program I bought properly, it simply is NOT working!!! And I refuse to use this stupid program any more, and other than getting my money back, I will not deal with this vendor ever again!!! I HOPE I do not have to take this issue with the vendor any farther than I have to, but WILL take it as far necessary as I need to go, on principle alone! It makes me VERY angry to be ripped off!!!! I HOPE I have made myself VERY clear!!!

ProxyAddict Folks, please note that you only have 45 days to file a dispute from the day of purchase according to Paypal policy. After which you can forget about getting a single cent back.

@Louis H, there are many ways to learn more about proxy and if you are really keen to use programs that works, try Scrapebox or HMA (Hide My Ass). I have tried both and I am very happy with both product. I bought ProxyBeast tool because of the discount so that I can pass it to my son but too bad the support for the tool is disappointing.

Chris Roy Jackson I may ALSO be filing a dispute with PayPal if the Vendor does NOT reply with a satisfactory reply to my "Help Ticket"!
I'm NOT sure why some have said that the User Guide is not for the version that they have downloaded, UNLESS they are confusing the screen shots of the WebHost's cPanel (in steps 7 - 11) with part of "Proxy Beast"! That would be easy to do since the Vendor does NOT really TELL you this in the Manual!!! The "File Manager" it is showing would be in your "cPanel" in your Hosting account (NOT on your computer)!
Regarding the "php file", I was willing to try installing it ONLY if I know what the purpose of the file is !!! I do NOT want to create an "OPen Relay" or "un-secured Proxy" on MY WebHost and thereby compromise the integrity of my Website's IP !!!
Do any of you know "php coding"?? Can you tell me the purpose of having the file on your website ?? Viewing the text of the file I could NOT determine its purpose. THAT is the FIRST question I am asking of the Vendor.
The Second question will be why do NONE of the found "proxies" (proxy Servers ???) list what TYPE they are (as advertized)???

Ryan Leverington Right, sorry for the delay people, ive been away.

The Purpose for the PHP file uploaded is to determine the Proxy TYPE. This is done via your own hosting, as its MUCH Faster than have Billions of requests to e.g a central server. This would cost much much more, to even be able to handle requests.

Secondly, Ive replied to most tickets personally. Any threats, or Bad Language will NOT be dealt with. Play Nice, or we Wont.

Most of it IS Outlined in the manual, thats why we created it. No need for me to repeat my self ten times, because e.g one or two people can't figure out to click the 'settings' tab at the bottom of the software. . Yet claim they have technical knowledge.

I could file a Support ticket (and will if this is not responded to here) regarding what I'm about to "say", however, given the level of tension expressed by some of the OTHER purchasers, I thought that perhaps Ryan can help people relax by addressing the issues which I am about to discuss:

Okay, folks,
Did anyone else get a response to their support ticket(s)???
Ryan said that he's been "away"... THINK about it!!! Life Happens... It's ONLY been 9 days!
He may have had a family emergency, vacation plans, etc., etc.
I (for one) am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he handles things over the next week (or so)!
He DID just answer my ticket, and I am now willing to upload the file to my server to see if my results will improve.

However, (Tip for Ryan:) I DO think that Ryan assumes too much in the Product Description above! It implies that ALL you have to do is use this software and you can quickly change your IP address ("Proxy Beast lets you quickly change your IP address...."). If I understand the functionality of the software correctly, it does NOT do that, but rather it simply finds the "IP Addresses" and/or) "URLs" of "Open Web Proxy Servers" available on the Internet!
In order for you to USE this information, you still have to have a "Proxy Client" installed on your computer and set up to CONNECT with the "Proxy Server(s)" that you wish to use. If these statements are correct, that information should be given in the description.

Also Ryan, your User manual could be a little clearer (on page 4) regarding uploading the file to Webhost by STATING that the picture shown there is actually a screenshot from inside their cPanel on the WebHost Server.

Ryan, If anything that I have said here is incorrect, PLEASE correct me so that the confusion can be eliminated. I think that many of the 99.5% of your customers fall into the groups of people that don't install the product and/or don't bother to complain (thinking that someone else they know will explain later what it is that they don't understand). If you add to your manual as people bring new questions to your attention, there will be fewer & fewer questions for people to raise (provided, of course, that they bother to read the Manual).

I hope that this was helpful to everyone concerned. I will continue to monitor this thread and I will post again in the next 24 - 72 hours after I have had a chance to upload the file and see what results I achieve.

LU Hello Chris.

I have been testing and using Proxy Beast now and it does an adequate job in my opinion.

Folks, there are better programs available and there are worse ones as well. Remember, there is no silver bullet program out there. No one single program does everything. As stated above, you have some time to request a refund, but take your time and try everything out first.

As I am using this software once in a while, there is no need for me to have a huge list of Proxies. I only need one at a time and the software gives me more than that at a single time.

I invested in this software, because of the price and because of the lifetime upgrades. The software is being actively developed and in time, has the potential to be one of the best.

FYI, I am not affiliated with this software in any way, at the time of this writing. I just think it is pretty decent, and sometimes we need to take a few step back, collect ourselves, and move on.

By the way, I think anyone can use Firefox browser to put the new IP address in. Not sure if this is accurate, but you can navigate to Firefox "Options", "Advanced", "Network", and on that tab, click "Settings". Choose "Manual proxy configuration" and enter the Proxy IP. Again, not sure if this will absolutely work.

Chris Roy Jackson Okay, I admit that I have been used to using a "Proxy Client" (I am right NOW) with a Anonomous Service Provider using " 127.0.0.1 " and a specific Port in order to access my "Proxy Client" (and therby the "Proxy Server").
In Internet Explorer, It's under Internet Opotions - Connections - Lan Settings - then "check" the box under "Proxy Server" and fill in the "Proxy Server" Information.

I had never thought about the possibility of accessing a "Proxy Server" DIRECTLY by inserting the Server's Address in IE's LAN Settings.

Louis H I was looking for additional third party/independent reviews of Proxy Beast., as well as other such program, and I found this bit of offered info to consider about any such scrapper type program......(Anyone out there with a solid understanding of proxies...can you confirm this to be true?)

This makes a lot of sense to me and would clearly explain why folks are reporting far fewer than 1000+ live proxies. It would also explain why there are times when I end up with more live links than others. It would make sense that depending on what time of day, and where in the queue of everyone scraping you stand, your results will vary.

P.S. I am certainly learning more about proxies.... ;-)
