"Simple But Brilliant... Our most favorite plugin since Xobni." -- Laptop Magazine, May 2010

You know the drill - you send an email out to all of the team members on a project, but you need to add a little extra information (or, hey, let's be honest, a snarky comment) to specific team members. You follow up with a second (or third, and fourth) email to those people, but in the end your messages get swallowed up in the crossfire. The result? Delays. Errors. Office Drama. Incorrect sandwich orders.

Avert catastrophe with Subtextual!

Subtextual is a plugin for Microsoft Outlook that gives you the power to add additional information to selected recipients of a mass email. Everyone sees the main email message, but your Subtextual recipients will also see a private, additional message.

Best of all, your recipients don't need to have Subtextual installed in order to see their messages!

Remember that time when you accidentally sent that embarrassing reply to EVERYONE because you hit BCC? Hahahaha, you'd still be laughing with your team over that if you still worked there! Well, with Subtextual, you'll always get a little reminder about your private messages when you hit Reply to All or Forward -- added insurance to guarantee that you retain that spot on the corporate ladder!

Hazen Hoffpauir What if your recipient decides to forward the email. Will the subtextual message be included in their forward ?

Dave Waldman Hazen, Yes, if the user forwards an email with a Subtextual message then other recipients can see the message - so we recommend not sending any information you believe a recipient may disclose to others via Subtextual. Subtextual's primary goal is to add context not encryption.  Dave

Richard Tauriello I see a FAQ that says that the recipient can only do Reply All if he has the plugin installed, but it's from 10 months ago and calls the product Bccthis.  Is that still true, that a non-plugin recipient doesn't even see who else received the message, so the discussion will fragment?  Is the sender somehow warned that he is sending to a non-plugin user?  In my experience, people being left out of discussions accidentally is a worse problem in my organization than anything this is trying to solve, so I wouldn't want to make that worse. There's a screenshot of a recipient adding a user when replying and being asked if he wants to omit the private content.  If the recipient does have the plugin installed as well, instead of just omitting the private content, can he be selective about who receives it, like the original sender was?

Dave Waldman Richard,

Good question. Subtextual was formerly called Bccthis, and as a small company, we sometimes miss older references to the product that we have not yet addressed.

This feature in particular was addressed in that a user that does not have the Subtextual plugin is now able to see who else the original message was sent to. You can see how this looks here: http://c0423322.cdn.cloud...m/sub2.png

We did launch in beta and evolved the product over several months based on user feedback so some of the FAQs may be need to be updated.

Hope this helps and certainly appreciate the feedback.

Patrick J. Currently I can't order this offer because for whatever reason I have to add a new banking account or credit card to my PayPal account (with already existing and valid banking account) during checkout.

DrTeeth At this price, I'm trying to convince myself I need it. It seems rude not to.

DrTeeth Does the person getting the email have to be using Outlook or is it sufficient that I do? Very few people I know use it. If it's just necessary for the sender to be an Outlook user, I'm sold.

Dave Waldman Hi Guy, Your recipients do not need to download anything to view Subtextual messages. They'll show up on any client or mobile device! Dave

Patrick J. Hi Dave,

just tried to register Subtextual v1.0.3201.2007 within Outlook 2007 SP2 on Windows 7. Internet access is only possible through a proxy server (the proxy is entered in Internet Explorer). Subtextual can't access the internet, no access to the licensing server. Any hint?
