New Mail Server

We've spent the weekend moving to a new mail server. Some of you may have experienced a few glitches and a few duplicate emails in the last few days, we apologize for it if that's happened.

The new system should allow us some improved flexibility about what we send, and we're excited about the prospect.

We've begun migrating our Daily Bits traffic over, due to the volume that we send we have to do this over a period of weeks.

Paul T On the plus side, I've been getting the daily email again for the last few days, after not receiving it for quite a while.

On the minus side, it's all gibberish. Here's just part of the most recent email. BTW, I'm using ATT/Yahoo. This is all in the actual body of the email, not the header.

Paul T Nico, it seems to be OK now. No problem with the latest email. It's good to be receiving it again! Good work.

Nico Westerdale Apologies for the mail issues - we were doing some work this weekend and we know that several people got duplicate emails.

The issue should be resolved.

Nico Westerdale That's really weird. Can you check the 'to' email address - are you sure that it's identical in each email? It could be that we have some similar records in there.

The 'to' address was identical. I had a look at my Outlook rules (a common cause of double emails) and made some changes. Hopefully, that should be it if all is well at your end.

DrTeeth I did notice that I started getting the emails at my gmail addy since your fix. I cancelled that sub - the gmail ringtone on my Samsung S3 is quite novel and it is a distraction when I am working - my patients usually start laughing.

I'm glad things are better on your end
But one thing that is rather annoying, is that now all your eMails come from the same address. Meaning, the newsletters, the RegKeys, etc all have the exact same sender :(
I had filters/folders for different types of BdJ correspondence, and all is always neat & clean. Being a "compulsive organizer", that is important !!
But now, that's impossible to do automatically, have to sort everything by hand
*sigh*
I didn't say anything before, hoping it was a temporary glitch during the move ...
Do you suppose something could be done about that?

Nico Westerdale Tortuga, We've changed the from email address of Daily Bits to match to from address of the other emails. If you're going to organize then your best bet would be to match the patterns in the subject lines.
