Nico Westerdale We've noticed that quite often in the comments people ask about Upgrade Policies for products. In the next few weeks you should start seeing this information come through on the deal pages in the information box underneath 'Platforms'. We hope this will make things easier for people to understand exactly what they are purchasing.

Vanessa N Thanks heavens, I've been meaning to write about this request for a year now....it's quite irritating. Sometimes I think vendors must think consumers are only looking for what's free (and today's world, unfortunately true).

I've always gone to the vendor website in search of this and other information, but sometimes the website is designed poorly or this info is hard to find (and that's for the people who bother to go to the website!)

I think in addition to the upgrade policy, you should also include the license EULA summarized to answer another constant question; how many computers can I use this on/what's the user policy?

That will also stall hundreds of like questions, and hopefully only leave the questions of substance about the program.

This is indeed good news.

Another suggestion: a huge sign indicating whether TAX will be added when buying or not!

Nico Westerdale Peter,

Nice idea, but I'm thinking that the tax is probably not something we can do easily. Most e-commerce companies charge tax dependent on which country/state they are incorporated in, and having us track that seems like just extra work. Surely once you decide to purchase the tax isn't a deal breaker either way?

Hello Nico,

of course, your arguments are right. However, even when buying software in the U.S. (I live in Germany), some sellers are adding Tax, some don't. I do not know why; maybe they think somethink like "He's buying, he's paying our price. 19% Tax? Poor guy, forget it"...

Nico Westerdale The "how many computers can I use this on" is a reasonable question too Vanessa, we'll have a think about that one.
