Nebulous User Although I have nothing to compare this against, I like it. I've never used another screen recorder, but I've thought of times when it would be useful for me.

Installation and registration were simple. When I started up the program, it was immediately easy to see how to use it.

I recorded about 6 minutes of my work and then watched it. Good. A little choppy, but I suspect that just means I need to tweak some settings. There are plenty of them.

All in all, seems like a useful little program with an easy interface.

mystuff 53 It works great, the quality isn't as high as I'd like, even at the highest setting, but it's very easy to use. The only problem is that when I try to record audio it picks up all kinds of feedback - at a much higher volume than the sound it's recording. Is there any way I can get a better audio recording?

Sarsfield Great little program! There are several tweaks for audio and video that I'll have to try out to get optimum results but my first video was pretty good considering the fact that I had no idea what I was doing. Thank you so much Bits and Boilsoft (great name) for this great little but powerful program!

mystuff 53 Can I please get an answer to my problem with the audio recording? All I get, whether I record from a microphone or the speakers, is just a lot of static with a very very faint recording of the sound in the background. Not even loud enough to understand, even with the volume set at highest setting.

Does anyone else have a problem with recording audio?
How can I make this work?
I appreciate this product, but it doesn't do much good if the audio won't record.

Did you make sure you turned audio on? You have to click the Record From down arrow and click the check-box to record audio. It is not on by default.

James K Download and Installed w/np on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with 2GB RAM, works easily. Simple, but understandable interface.

No MAJOR problems.

Only three points.

MINOR ISSUE:
As someone else has pointed out, the default audio level is low, though I think I can change that. Also, the sound of my netbook's fan is much louder than my voice, though I may have not spoken clearly or directly toward the microphone. (I only mention it because it's apparently a problem. I assumed it was me.)

SEMI-SERIOUS ISSUE:
As someone else also pointed out, the video recording is not as high quality as I would like. The characters on the screen are a little dark and fuzzy, even with a full-screen playback. This needs to be fixed if the author wan't people to use this for anything they will share with more than one or two people, and before he has any hope of selling this to a professional for work that will be seen by other professionals, or customers.

SUGGESTION:
I like the auto-minimize and the auto-minimize-to-tool-bar functions, but I'd like to also be able to hide it so that it is invisible to the recording, showing up in neither taskbar or icon tray, possibly showing itself as a blank icon if you use the Alt-Tab window switcher. I'm sure that you want this to be a little bit of subtle advertising for you, but both home and professional users will likely want something that does not intrude into the recording, and an Icon does that.

mystuff 53 Hello, thanks for replying, but yes the record audio is turned on. It records, but what it records is the background static of the computer with only the tiniest fraction of the actual audio stream, whether it is spoken into the microphone or playing over the computer.

This really needs to be fixed because what good is the program if you can't hear the audio playback?

Sarsfield mystuff 53 I'm really not sure what is causing your feedback issues. There are so many factors that could be screwing up your sound from drivers to hardware. I would suggest contacting Boilsoft directly and include your hardware/software set-up. Maybe they could help?

J P I did test recording of my screen. The software crashed after about an hour. I have 4gb RAM. When I checked recording it showed 65 minutes but after 30 minute it kept showing black screen (no recording).

In my laptop with 3gb RAM, it crashed after an hour too. When I checked recording after the crash, it was 8x to 10x faster with no actual voice just static.

small recordings worked fine.

Has anyone else experienced this?

mystufff 53 I tried every single setting on the audio settings, after checking the box by record audio. Most of them gave no sound at all, one gave a whole lot of static. That's all I can get. I tried contacting Boilsoft but the email wouldn't go through.
So - it works for short recordings of silent screen, but that's not even close to what it says it will do.
