Bruno Verschraegen Hi, Assuming this is a fully functional version, 100% discounts are usually a marketing tool to get access to prospective buyers of either new versions, more feature-rich versions, or other products. What will going for this free offer induce as follow-up action?
Jul 11 2012 at 2:18am
RAY MORRIS One of the best...
Jul 11 2012 at 3:17am
Jon P Will this be the fully licensed version? Will it include the Blu-Ray options that are disabled in the free edition?

BitsDuJour Admin - Jul 11 2012 at 3:18am
Suzanna Schroeder How do I get the fully licensed version? I could only get the trial.
Jul 12 2012 at 12:24am
PeLi @ Suzanna : click on the green Get It For Free button. After you entered your name and email you see a download link and you receive the license in your email in box
Jul 12 2012 at 12:46am
dale Geyer I just entered my serial number and its still showing trial user for most of the software
Jul 12 2012 at 12:53am
PeLi @dale : The license is a one year license, only valid for DVD Fab DVD Creator
Jul 12 2012 at 1:03am
dale Geyer okay thanks for the updatte
Jul 12 2012 at 1:07am
Leslie Milburn Can you confirm that this is a 1 year licence for the updates BUT that the software will continue to work after that without updates.

Also is it 1 year from installation time or is it a fixed expiry date from today ?
Jul 12 2012 at 1:26am
techtiplib lib Thanks a lot
Jul 12 2012 at 1:29am
dale Geyer I would like to know what Leslie asked, the program will still be full version after one year but with no updates, that is correct I hope!!
Jul 12 2012 at 1:37am
PeLi Quote from the Policy you can read above:

"After you make a purchase of this BitsDuJour discount promotion, DVDFab DVD Creator may be used indefinitely."
Jul 12 2012 at 1:40am
Leslie Milburn @PeLi

Thanks for clarifying. Initially I assumed that was the case but then when I read your answer to Dale's first post about a 12 month licence it confused me.

Also I never even noticed the Policy Tab hiding in plain sight. So that is a good heads up for other products and will stop me asking stupid questions next time :-)
Jul 12 2012 at 1:50am
Bruno Verschraegen Hello PeLi. Are you representing DVDFAB or a helpful and attentive private user? If representing DVDFAB, do you mind answering also my question of yesterday 2:18am?
Jul 12 2012 at 2:15am
PeLi Hi Bruno : I am a user trying to help. I am NOT related to BdJ or the publisher, so I can't answer your question.
Jul 12 2012 at 2:20am
Bruno Verschraegen Thanks PeLi.
Jul 12 2012 at 2:36am
DVDFab Hello Bruno: This Campaign is aimed to show our grateful for the worldwide users, in which the users can get a relatively deep understanding of DVDFab. There is no follow-up action temporarily.

Thanks for your support for DVDFab, especially the help of PeLi to help answer and clarify all the questions.

_*_ I would really like to know if a year and one day from now if I reinstall the software; will it install, register, and work properly as if I am still the registered user?

The policy makes me think otherwise...

"You must instal/register the software within 12 months, and cannot do so afterwards."
Jul 12 2012 at 3:15am
DVDFab Hi MB, If you own 1 year license for DVDFab product, when your license expire a year later, you won't continue to get updates and support benefits. The 1-year license invalid from 2012.07.12 ~ 2013.07.12.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 3:41am
Aquarius Gabriel One thing is for sure...the giveaway is valid ONLY for DVD Creator, the other functions are 30 days trial. The purpose of this giveaway is to make you buy the other functions.Useless if you ask me.
Jul 12 2012 at 3:55am
Mary Keddy Is this a free software which is free today but if I download and don't use immediately it will not be valid in a month or so when I need it?
Jul 12 2012 at 5:10am
Robert Crombie This is mentioned in the email delivering the Registration code -

Use this registration code to unlock the software after installation. You must instal/register the software within 12 months, and cannot do so afterwards.

Hopefully then, I can install it into a couple of my PCs, as they are 2004 vintage, and never seem to live for too long
Jul 12 2012 at 5:44am
Watcher1924 If after 12 months my computer crash and I have to reinstall the OS or if I buy a new computer I will not be able to reinstall the program?
Jul 12 2012 at 5:46am
Robert Crombie I was just cleaning up (Deleting the Tabs I had opened for this download), and noticed that the program download was DVDFab and NOT -
DVDFab DVD Creator

I am confused ? ?
Jul 12 2012 at 6:38am
dale Geyer @Robert It is for DVDfab creator, I have already converted 5 avi files of an hour or so to DVD with awesome results!
Jul 12 2012 at 7:27am
Robert Crombie Dale,
Thanks for response.
I went and pretend started the download for DVDFab, and the EXE offered had identical name and size as the download for DVD Creator -
DVDFab8190Qt.exe 20,369 KB

I suspect it is a 'bundle' that installs TRIALS for all the programs, and no doubt the emailed License key will convert the DVD Creator Trial, to Registered.
If I am correct, I would prefer to NOT be installing the other Trials.
- Is my assumption correct ?
- Does one get choices at install time, as to which programs are installed ?

Thanks,
Rob
Jul 12 2012 at 7:44am
dale Geyer @ Rob It will install DVDFab Creator and the free trial bundle, when you start the program it gives a list of options, you just click on DVDFab creator and it will load the program. I recommend this program 100% as that I convert and burn a ton of files to DVD. Hope this helps Robert

Little Bear As per our blog here about DVD Fab DVD Creator :

http://freebiebear.blogsp...-from.html

We praise the developer for creating an "All in One" solution and not selling separate EXE files for each feature, in the event that we would like to purchase more features. It makes working with the interface much much easier and hassle free.

We have reviewed similar burning products but they sell them in separate installation files, and often carry multiple names.

Thanks DVD Fab for keeping things simple.
Jul 12 2012 at 8:50am
Malcolm Snyder @Mary Keddy: You must install/register the software within 12 months

@Robert Crombie: DVDFab includes att DVDFab apps. Install/launch DVDFab... Click blue "?", select "About", "Enter Registration Key" and DVD Creator will be fully available.
Jul 12 2012 at 8:58am
Braden Parker Installed, then noticed it installs trialware with the program. Uninstalled. I don't appreciate software that installs components that I don't want, nor did it even bother asking me.
Jul 12 2012 at 9:19am
Robert Crombie If Braden is correct, and we have no choice about the trialware being installed, then I strongly agree with Braden.
Jul 12 2012 at 9:25am
Pat Anderson This is great software, thanks a lot!

BitsDuJour Admin - Jul 12 2012 at 11:27am
Ross Sandler I tried downloading this twice and followed the instructions and it still doesn't work. i had a previous trail version that expired and when I donwload the file sent, it shows still expired and several of teh items. The emailed registration key is exactly the same as the one from teh download link so when entered nothing changes. Is this a free version or not? if so, what am i doing wrong.
Jul 12 2012 at 11:44am
Nico Westerdale Ross This is the full version for free. I'm thinking it's the previous trial version that's messing you up, please completely uninstall it and then just use the download link from the BitsDuJour receipt email.

If that doesn't work you'll have to ask DVDFab for help.
BitsDuJour Admin - Jul 12 2012 at 11:57am
RichU I have a functioning, but expired version of DVDFab that makes backup copies of my DVDs. If I install this product, will it overlay my existing, licensed, but expired copy module?
Thanks,
Jul 12 2012 at 12:59pm
Jonathan Keener Looks like a nice product. I'd love to see a BitsDuJour deal on the all-in-one lifetime DVDFab set of tools, as that would be extremely tempting if it were priced right!
Jul 12 2012 at 2:44pm
dale Geyer I agree with Jonathan, if available for a deal on the all-in one lifetime DVDFab set of tools I'm in!! How about it Fengtao Software & BitsDuJour Please make it happen!!
Jul 12 2012 at 4:58pm
Bruce Is it normal for the download of this, DVDFab DVD Creator BDJ licensed free program -- DVDFab8190Qt.exe (19.8 MB),
To be the same as what is downloaded from their DVDFab HD Decrypter Free (always free) program page -- DVDFab8190Qt.exe (19.8 MB).
Program downloaded is identical.
Though presumably, DVD Creator writes data out, while HD Decryptor reads data in.

Am I getting the wrong download?
Or is this one of those software bundles where everybody gets the same DL exe, and the function is different depending on license key (or no key) or some other determiner?
Jul 12 2012 at 6:48pm
Joe Caccioppo Hi, a small problem, I downloaded the program and had the registration key sent. I installed and then it restarted my computer. I started DVDFab, it said it was expired, so I put the new key from my email and it said thanks for registering. Then it restarted. When it did, it said my program was expired, so I entered my reg key again. same thing, restarted, expired, typed new key said thank you for registering, restarted, expired... Any thoughts? Joe
Jul 12 2012 at 7:14pm
RichU Well, I would have really liked to try DVD Creator, but even more, I do not want to overlay and invalidate my existing DVD Copy that I use to make the occasional DVD backup. Since I didn't get the answer to my above question, I guess I will just have to miss out on your generous offer of one of your fine programs.
Perhaps Bits will extend this offer tomorrow and the questions can be answered.
Thanks
Jul 12 2012 at 7:53pm
DVDFab @Joe, after you installed the program, you should select "Run this program as an administrator" before you register your program.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 8:18pm
DVDFab @Richard, you can feel free to register and install the DVD Creator. It will not affect the full function of DVD copy which is already on your PC. Please take it easy.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 8:38pm
VLM Does one have to select "Run as admin" if one IS admin?
Jul 12 2012 at 9:00pm
DVDFab @VLM, yes, whether you are admin or not, you should right click the icon on your desktop and select "Run this program as an administrator" , then you can register successfully.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 9:14pm
VLM Okay. Guess that's something you can look into later on. :)
Jul 12 2012 at 9:21pm
DVDFab @Bruce, yes, the install file you download is same, and the license key determine the function of our software.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 9:28pm
Bruce Thanks 'DVDFab' for answer. :)

I will say that last time I happened to visit the DVDFab site (quite a very long time ago I admit ), I was a bit overwhelmed and a touch confused at all the different yet closely functioning product offerings...
But I will be giving this one a shot.

P.S. in the main screen, I see it list many different 'function modes' to try. Are they all 30-day tryouts?
Will they give complete functioning for those 30 days?
I assume then at end of 30 days, that particular tryout function mode deactivates but rest of software -- the free mode of "HD Decryptor" and the BitsDuJour mode of DVD Creator will continue to function. (I am assuming these answers to be : Yes.)
Jul 12 2012 at 10:06pm
DVDFab Hi Bruce, All our products (11 commercial items) are sold as "try-before-you-buy" software. You can try them 30 days for free, so you have enough time to verify the program's functionality.

To continue using the software after the time limit, you should pay a registration fee at http://www.dvdfab.com/order.htm. Or just stay with the registered product (DVD Creator)and the free product (DVDFab HD Decrypter).
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 10:45pm
J S DVDFab programs are Superb, EXCEPT FOR 1 OMiSSiON.

I have not discovered or found anyway to write CD's (or other variants or CD-R & CD-RW) using DVDFab.

Yes, I know the program is called DVD Fab (not CD&DVD Fab)

BUT if CD writing could also be added to the FULL Version of DVDFab Lifetime - which I purchased earlier in 2012, (not just the DVD Creator that is available today) it would make the DVDfab suite of programs the "one stop shop for writing to optical disc's" and there would be no need for any other programs - such as NERO, at all.
Jul 12 2012 at 10:58pm
DVDFab @Aquarius, DVDFab All-In-One lifetime total price: $299.00. If we give the license of all-in-one package for giveaway, this will be huge cost that we cannot afford. The promotion is just for spreading DVDFab DVD Creator.

If you want to use the other product (non-giveaway) we suggest you to place order at http://www.dvdfab.com/order.htm
We've been doing promotions recently, all the special offers http://www.dvdfab.com/specialoffer.htm are very favorable. Like we are offering 20% discount on all DVDFab products to make you get more profits. Please don't miss out.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 11:21pm
DVDFab @Watcher1924, after 12 months, the keycode will expire which means you cannot use it to active DVD Creator anymore.

The installer you can always reinstall it, but you cannot upgrade to the newest installer any more, if you want to get continued upgrades after 12 months, you need to order DVD Creator at http://www.dvdfab.com/order.htm

If you don't want to order DVD Creator, you are allowed to stay with the present installer that you using before 12 months finished.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 11:24pm
DVDFab @J S, DVDFab product is not designed to copy&write CD discs, thanks for your suggestions though, we will consider and try to implement this CD copying in future version.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 11:33pm
DVDFab Hi @Robert@Braden, Currently DVDFab is an all-in-one program package, there is a way to just display the registered products, please go to common settings-Customize UI-check the box "show registered options only", then you won't get the unregistered components in the left navigation menu any more.

Our devs are considering to divide them into separate installers with separate license, yet we need more time to do this.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 12 2012 at 11:46pm
PeLi Thanks very much for this promotion. And we may even update the software for free during the coming year!
Realy grateful ;)
Jul 12 2012 at 11:49pm
Bobo Lamoute It is just great ! THANKS
Jul 13 2012 at 12:17am
Steven Sun I've already have lifetime license with DVDFab 8 Qt. Is this better than the one I had? Does it have more features than the one currently have? If yes, I'd install this as this is great deal.
Jul 13 2012 at 12:17am
VLM DVD Fab - I do not believe Aquarius was suggesting that you give away the lifetime license. I think s/he was suggesting or requesting that you run a "normal" promotion here, where the discount is 40 or 50 or 60 percent. For example, if the list price is USD 299 (as you say), then a BDJ price might be USD 149.50, for one day.

I like the CD suggestion. I have always been surprised that no DVD/Blu-Ray writing software also does CDs. I think people really appreciate complete solutions. Just my opinion. :)

I would not recommend dividing the product into separate installers. If you read some of the comments from earlier during this promotion, you'll remember that several people appreciated NOT having separate installers. Instead of separate installers, you might make much more obvious how to show/hide unregistered components, and you might put the word "Trial" (or similar) next to the names of the unregistered components. This would be MUCH easier than breaking up the installation, and I think it would also be more effective. Again, just my opinion, of course. Perhaps others will add their opinions.

Thank you for an excellent promotion!

DVDFab @Steven, which products do you own in DVDFab 8 Qt? DVDFab DVD Creator is brand-new, if you haven't purchased it yet, please cherish this opportunity. We are offering the 1-year license for giveaway.
Fengtao Software Inc. Vendor - Jul 13 2012 at 1:28am
DVDFab @VLM, the discount request will be reported to our supervisor, we will consider holding a promotion like this coupon discount in the near future.

We will consider to put the word "Trail" next to the names of the unregistered components, but for now you can also check the trail days left ( according to the update expire time ) in the Welcome screen.

Thanks very much for your suggestions.

RichU "DVDFab @Richard, you can feel free to register and install the DVD Creator. It will not affect the full function of DVD copy which is already on your PC. Please take it easy."
=================================================
DVDFab, On the contrary, I installed the downloaded installer, installed on my Vista Laptop, and successfully registered, but the DVDCopy module is no longer working, probably because the installer changed the version of DVDCopy, violating the update period. This is what I was afraid of when I posted earlier.
Don't know what to do now.
Thanks for your assistance and for creating excellent programs.
