Tim John I bought 3 of these. 2 for Windows 7 Desktop and 1 for Windows 8 laptop. Brilliant piece of kit. Various settings available. I have mine set to perform a full backup every 7 days with daily incremental backups during the interim period. You can also set it to delete any surplus backups periodically. I was using Acronis True Image 2012 (which doesn't/didn't work with Windows 8) and could be temperamental with Windows 7, I replaced this with EaseUS Todo Backup Home and it works perfectly and, yes, I have had to use it to restore Windows 7 and Windows 8 to make sure it worked. If you're not totally convinced you could give the free trial a go first. I should also point out that I have absolutely no connection with EaseUS, I'm just giving you my honest opinion as a customer.

Joe McCormick I am trying the trail version. I wanted it for files backups, but all I could see was the backups were NOT in a raw file but in an encrypted .pbd format. I also did not like that I could not make the program open up as a full window. In the licensed version, will it let me copy files so they are in their native format (.exe, .jpg, .pdf etc.)?
Will the full version allow for a full window opening?

Tim John It will let you mount the backup image. If you want to retain the native format you would probably do better zipping it. The window cannot be maximised.

Bit Fly This is really the best backup solution, I ever tested. Bevor this one, I tried many others (even the "true" one ;-) with all I had minor or even major problems. Since I use Todo backup (already longer than a year), I had NOT even one time a problem while backing up or restoring.
A very great product ! (And fully worth the price) (compare the price e.g. against another product, that make it necessary to buy an expensive additional pack to be able to restore to dissimilar hardware; Todo-Backup workstation edition can do this from start on !)

2 questions.:
1. do you plan to offer todo backup workstation at this offer or later at
bitsdujour too?
2. Would the "fineprint" be the same for the workstation version
as is said above for the home-version (no license-activation required)
(especially no userunfriendly hardware-footprinted activation
procedure?

Software Guy IMHO you should backup AND clone your hard drive. WIndows has imaging capabilities built in, but the third party programs are more user friendly. Find EaseUS offerings compared here:

To do the job correctly you will need an external usb drive for your clone. Backups can be stored to another USB drive or to DVD or BD disks.
In case of drive failure some motherboards will allow you to boot from your usb drive directly (check your bios). If yours does not support this, another option to consider is a bare drive in an external USB SATA drop in dock. If that option is just too ugly, then get an external case to mount your clone drive so you can easily swap it should disaster strike. BTW, many replacement drives come with drive imaging tools - WD, Seagate Maxtor and others.
Disaster may never strike, but the peace of mind is worth the investment. And this offering from EaseUS is a very good deal with lots of features at this price. You need one license per machine.

PROCRASTINATORS: I strongly recommend that you take the time to backup/image correctly now because you will be very unhappy if disaster finds you before you find the time/money to backup all of those files and pictures you have accrued over the years. I have come across too many unhappy moms who have just lost all of those years of great pictures of their kids. Bad weather outside is the perfect time for a full backup/image.

Mark Chiang Nice deal, here is a comparison of the Home and Free version for those who already use the free one. Even the Free one has incremental backup, though I like that there's WinPE support with USB 3.0 on the Home version.
